Voyager of the Week Archive: Nixie

This is Nixie a previous winner of Voyager of the Week.

You may have heard in the news recently about a garden gnome that was 'liberated' and taken around the world in a similar fashion to the one in the film Amelie. It strikes a chord with us because that film was one of the inspired us to create this website.

Anyway, this week we thought we would we'd celebrate a gnome of our own. Handmade by MissMelissa, Nixon Chadwick Gnome (Nixie) strikes us as a little eccentric: declaring a diverse set of interests including shuffleboard, mythical beasts and making houses out of mushrooms. A generous chap, he's on a mission to find the missing possessions of another gnome.

Apart from his adventures (including beach trips, treehouse spotting, letterboxing, hospital ER, poker, baseball and hanging out with other ToyVoyagers) we also loved the captions and labels on the photographs in some of the more recent updates.

Maybe one day Nixie will hit the global headlines like his famous conterparts - only time will tell. Until then, we're more than happy to celebrate him here on ToyVoyagers by welcoming him into the VOTW hall of fame.
