Hi mummy,
Today hostmum and hostdad showed us the Riesenrad.
We used the subway to get there.




When we arrived there, it was very cold and windy - it's February after all.
So our hostparents made a short photo shooting and then we drove home quickly.

Tomorrow hostmum will send Lover Baer to Switzerland and Klaus-Bärbel and Pieksi will send to Germany.
I'm so sad to say good bye. I will miss my new friends and I hope I will see them again.

Hi mummy,

Donut asked us "Wanna play board games?" and we yelled "Yeah, let's play!"
We played Scrabbel, DKT, Skibo and Trivial Pursiut. We had unbridled fun. We laughed so much that my stomach hurt.

Then we watched some films. We had a big selection. I didn't know, which film I should choose.


We decided for the film ' A bug's life'








We had some delicious chips.

Hi mummy,

Sheppy, hostmom and I baked some yummy, small cakes. The cake-ban are two sheeps, two bunnies and two ducks. So sweet! They are for easter.


We helped as good as we can.

Hi mommy,
Today, we were on an awesome place. Twinky and I visited with hostmom and -dad the butterflyhouse. It was soooo cooooll. The butterlflies are free and sometimes the land on us and we take so nice pictures.

Hi Mommy!!

Like i said before i'm in the Netherlands now!!!

My trip was long so i'm a bit tired!



When i came out of my envelop there where 3 TV's waiting for me!!

You can see PinkyHH, Vriendje and MuhMuh.. Normally there is also a small lion, but he's on a short trip to Barcelona now. So i will meet him soon!



They are all very friendly, so i felt very welcome!

I would like to show you the view from Cyn's home.. So you know a bit where i am mommy!

Hi mum!!!

Well Cyn's is kinda busy at the moment with her work so we had to stay home..

So i decided to take a book and read some about Nederland and Alkmaar.. The place where i am staying!



Im staying in Nederland (well known as Holland) It's a small country in the north-west of Europe. Have you ever been there mom?

Alkmaar is above all Holland's cheese town. During the season from the first Friday of April to the first Friday of September a traditional cheese market is being held here on Friday mornings between 10 and 12.30. The cheeses are sold by dealers on a clap of hands. Thereupon the 400 year old cheese porters' guild goes into action, carrying the cheese off on barrows after the lot has been weighed at the Waag (the official scales). In the Waaggebouw - in which the scales are housed - a cheese museum that tells everything about dairy farming has been established.


 

Alkmaar is historical with around 400 monuments. The Waag, dating back in its earliest form to the 14th century, the 16th century town-hall, Grote St. Laurens Church and the many courtyards, facades and canals give the town an ambience all of its own. Learn more about it at www.livinghistoryalkmaar.com .With the past as a setting, the town has a modern stock of shops offering a wide choice. Besides the predominantly small shops in the old centre, the Noorder Arcade with large scale shopping facilities stands by the side of the Noord Holland Canal. 



Alkmaar is the biggest town in the region and therefore also its centre for going out. There is a range of restaurants of various kinds, pavement cafés and coffee houses, as well as theatres and museums. Numerous events are also organised including The Relief of Alkmaar, Culinary Plaza and Cheese Town Jazz. Relaxation can also be found in the Geestmerambacht recreational area close by, and the parks and sports facilities.

Well i hope i will visit the city one day!! But i'm pretty sure Cyn will take me there!

Hi mom!!

Today is national Queens-day here in the Netherlands. It's a special day and most of the shops are closed aswell the schools!

This morning Cyn gave me a newspaper!! She hopes i didn't saw it before..



Meet the paper "de Telegraaf", de biggest national newspaper in Holland.

At the first page you can see the Dutch queen, Queen Beatrix.



Also on the first page you can see one of the 3 princesses.. It's Amalia the oldest daughter of crownprince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima.



Later today i will go and take a look at the city of Alkmaar.. How cool!!

Did you know mom, that orange is the national colour of the Netherlands?

Hi mom!!

Like i said before, today it's queensday here in the Netherlands! Cyn's mom took me and PinkyHH to the city of Alkmaar to take a look around!



Can you see the Dutch flag? It's a tradition to do that on queensday!



Everyone is dressed in orange since that is the national colour!







Stroopwafels!!! That are typical dutch cookies filled with caramel! I think they will be lovely!!



At the "vrijmarkt" (it's a market) people can sell old stuff, for small prices!! Cyn's mom bought a lot of small toy's, so Cyn can have a lot of new TV's soon!

So mom, this was queensday here in Holland! Hope you liked it!

Today was a sad day, cause i had to say goodbye to Vriendje and MuhMuh.



They are going on a trip to their first hosts!
