Yesterday was a long day so today, I am going to rest.

Hi Mum,
Today we went GeoCaching along the North Wales Coast.

There is a GeoCache near this small church and it has a well.

This is a very small church.

But it has stained glass windows.

It really isn't very big!

Then, we went along the coast and found one here!

My host tells me that the Olympic Torch is coming to the area, and said we might be lucky enough to see it!

Hi Mum,
The Torch is coming, the Olympic Flame is coming.

to see the Torch any minute now...

There it is, trust my host to have it out of focus!

We have another chance to see the Flame.

Should be here any minute now.

Looks camoflaged in the "fold" of the building.

Today, I helped my host make some muffins

Ready to go in the oven.

Cooked! Some have disappeared.

Today, we went to see a castle.

This is Beeston Castle, in Cheshire.

we are resting on the outer bailey, or wall, looking across the Cheshire countryside.

I made it up the hill, and am now in the castle

The castle was partially demolished in the Civil War.

A good view all around (weather permitting).

The castle was built on sandstone rock, in the 13th century.

Today, we've come to Anderton Boat Lift.

This is the top of the boat lift.

That's what it looks like from the side.

We are on a boat trip.

Then we got to go on the boat lift.

We are coming off the lift

and cruising onto the canal.

Then, we had another look at the boat lift.

And tried the maze made from counterweights.

And here we all are at the centre of the maze.

We are in Llandudno today because last week, after visiting the Anderton Boat Lift, we stopped off at the theatre in Llandudno, for my host's son and husband to see a show. My host left a bag there, and only discovered it was missing yesterday.

It was a sunny day and we had a little rest on the promenade outside the theatre, after she got her bag back.

The sea looks calm.

We are in Porthmadog to ride the Welsh Highland Railway.

We are on a train.

The engine pulls us out of the station, but then has to switch ends to pull us in another direction.

Porthmadog has an estuary, with a tidal island.

And inland, are some hills and mountains of Snowdonia in the distance.

We are going across the Cob, built to cross the estuary.

This is the River Glaslyn that runs out at Porthmadog.

We are moving again.

And on we go.

We have stopped off in Rhyd Ddu. We can take a look at the engine.

Can you see the top of Mount Snowdon? Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales.

And on we go.

We are approaching another station.

That engine is called Caernarfon Castle.

We have arrived back in Caernarfon

The train will go back to Porthmadog.

Hi Mom!

I have arrived in Austria! It's really summer here, we had +30° C the whole time since I have arrived!
It was much too hot for sightseeing, so Mom just took me with her to her office. I played around with everything I found on the desk!

It's still too hot to do anything, so I'll just watch some tv now!

Today I travelled the world with postcards! I helped my hostmom with her postcard work. We scanned the cards and registered them on postcrossing. I wish the postcards could talk and tell me about their journey!

Hi Mom!

It is still very hot outside, so we decided to have some summer BBQ. My hostmom does not have a balcony or garden, so we could not grill outside. Instead we put the vegetables and halloumi cheese in the oven.
We also had some garlic bread! What a nice dinner
