Taulumäki church
Taulumäki church is the biggest church in Jyväskylä. It was built 1929. It is the first church in Finland by a female architect. Elsi Borg was her name.
And as you can see: we had a sunny day again

Luontomuseo - Natural History Museum of Central Finland
Today we went up to the Vesilinna building and visited Natural History Museum https://www.jyu.fi/erillis/museo/en/natural
I saw a map that showed all the meteorites fallen to Finland, I was laying on the light table to learn some plants and saw lots of animals.
The most exciting thing was to see a lynx, a relative

Taking care of Hermanni
Who is Hermanni? He is hiding under a towel... Hermanni is a cake "root" that I promised to take care of for 10 days and finally deal him to friends and bake a cake of the root.
Here you can see how I took care of Hermanni and how I baked a cake and also ate it
In the beginning I stirred Hermanni twice a day and fed him twice during 10 days.
Then finally came the baking day. I divided Hermanni into 5 portions, gave 4 of them to my host´s friends and used the 5th one as a root of my cake.
I melted butter, broke 3 eggs, added some flour, salt, cinnamon and baking powder, cut chocolate into pieces, looked after my host taking care of the cake mold, pealed and cut a pear, ate a hot dog
Hey! This is not what it looks like... I just added some raisins . Then I added sugar, stirred, put the dough into a cake mold, baked one hour and ate it!
Hermanni is great and made by me.

Frankfurt/Main, Germany - 28th March 2012
By: Eustachia
Hello mommy
Today i'm going to visit Frankfurt/Main. How exciting!
I was on a road trip with Eustachia and at the highway A5 was a 20 km long traffic jam So we had to drive via country roads.
But first of all we had to pass Frankfurt good for me, because so i can do some sightseeing from inside the car
The sun was shining.. perfect to take some great pictures!
Wow, here are many huge buildings!
And here you can the the Main river.
This is the Westhafen tower. It looks like a huge glas of cider (the national drink of Hesse), also know as "Äppelwöi-Turm". It was build from 2001 to 2003, has 30 floors and a height of 112 meters. It is used as an office building and the face is builded with 3500 triangles of glass.
Here are some impressions of Frankfurt City..
This huge building in the background is the "Westend tower", the building of the DZ Bank. It was build from 1990 to 1993 and is also used as an office building. At the top of the building is a crown composed of 11 spikes and they overhang 11 meters. In the winter they are heated so that no ice is falling down. The Westend tower has a height of 208 meters and there are 51 floors.
This is the railway station.
Oh wow.. mommy look there.. the "Bleistift" (pencil)!
This is the "Exhibition tower" (Messeturm). With a height of 257 meters and 63 floors it was the highest office building of Europe in 1997. It was build from 1989 to 1991 and is used as on office building and not for some exhibition.
Ehh, i really don't know how i took this picture. But i think it looks kind of cool. And you can identify the Messeturm
And here we got the next important building (on the right)...
This is the "City house", one of the first skyscrapers in Frankfurt. It was builded from 1971 to 1974, with a height of 143,15 meters and 41 floors.
Okay, let's move on..
This is the Marriot hotel, right beside the trade fair It has 44 floors, 565 romms and 23 suites. Oh.. and pets are allowed
And this is the "Hammering Man". It is a series of monumental kinetic sculptures designed by Jonathan Borofsky (an us-amerikan artist). This artwork is a symbol for work, action and solidarity to all people. It has a height of 23 meters and a weight of 32 tons. It stoods in front of the Messeturm since 1991.
Time to move on..
Oh woooow! Mommy, look! This is the "Deutsche Bank tower" (german bank tower). These towers are two famous scyskrapers in Frankfurt, build between 1979 ans 1984. They are both 155 meters tall and form the headquaters of "Deutsche Bank", the largest bank in Germany. The twin towers are sometimes nicknamed debit and credit (soll und haben), the two aspects of every financial transaction
They belong to the best known buildings in Germany and i think they are very impressive!
And this building is the "Alte Oper" (ancient opera), built in 1877.
And finally some more impressions of Frankfurt/Main:
I hope you like the pictures I had much fun.
Oh, and if you want to read some more about Frankfurt and his skyscrapers, take a look at this.
See you soon

Wild animal park, Germany - 30th April 2012
By: Eustachia
Hi mommy
Sorry for long time no update. But my hostmom had some stress, so we couldn't do any trips.
But today we visited a wild animal park
As we arrived, the rabbits and guinea pigs got their food. So there was some action!
These plushy little guys are called raccoon dog. Awww, they look sooo sweet!
Hello little donkey
Waaaah, mommy you wouldn't believe what happened to me the next 5 minutes... I want to cuddle this cute little donkey, he was shaking his ears and i felt right into the donkey bawn!
Eustachia was getting very nervous, because i was too far away to pick me up. For me it was fun!
She tried to touch me with a stick, but it was too short. Then she talked to the donkeys to nudge me that i can move closer to the fence. Hahaha.. and so it happened. One donkey went closer to me, looked at me and snuffled at me with his huge snout. Hihi, that was tickled me
Then he picked me up with his mouth and throwed me nearby the fence. Hahaha, that was so much fun! But i think for Eustachia it was hell on earth
This is my friend who helped me out of the bawn.
Thanks a lot my friend *kisses*
And this is the proof... donkey are not dumb, as everyone says. They are very clever and helpful
This funny guy with the beautiful eyes is a guanaco, some sort of camel.
Hello little goats!
In the end of our visit we were so hungry. So we decided to eat a pesto-pastry, some salat and a baked potato with curd cheese.
Yummy!
What an exciting day! We had so much fun. And don't worry about my excursion to the donkeys. I'm fine!
Yours
*Paul*
