Hi everyone,
I just arrived at my next host mum's house, because it snowed this morning and it took the post man some time to get everywhere.
We already took a picture in the garden with the remaining snow  .
I think I'll have to relax for some time and then make plans for the next days and weeks!

Detmold, Germany - 22nd December 2011

Today we went into town. The weather wasn't great but it was also not that cold. The first thing I saw was the huge building of the university of music, which is very popular.
While walking through town I took a picture in front of the small river that used to flow round the center of Detmold in earlier times to protect it. Especially the castle had to be protected and I can understand why, because it looks great and I guess the park in front of it is an awesome place, when the weather is good!
They also have a really old theatre here and I'm a bit sad, that I won't get the chance to go inside and see a play...
Detmold is also famous for its old half-timbered houses, that weren't destroyed in the second world war!
This was a great and long day and I'm looking forward to Christmas Eve on Saturday!

Today we baked a Dr. Oetker- Donauwelle!
It was fun and as you can see in the photo it looks pretty good, although we forgot that the chocolate has to look like waves  .
It is for a friend's birthday, which is tomorrow. I don't think the 24th is a nice day for someone's birthday. You don't get presents twice a year but only once  ...

Today is Christmas Eve in Germany!
We're going to celebrate with the whole family in the evening and I hope I'll also get some nice presents .
We'll have a nice dinner. Unfortunately it's not snowing and cold at all...

I have arrived in Towcester. I am so glad to be out of the envelope. It was all stuffy! Today is New Year's Eve and Jemma; that's my host' is going off to work. She looks rather sad about going to work and leaving me a,one in her flat.
Jemma told me before she left that Towcester is an old Roman Coaching town and is pronounced as "toaster", you know as in the machine that cooks bread, Brilliant, don't you think?
Here is me arriving...

Hey mom,
All is well, please don't be worried! Just a quick post to say that Jemma has been poorly. She hurt her back two weeks ago.
Jemma has taken some pictures but she has been unable to post them.
We have had some more TVs arrive and we are all keeping Jemma warm and safe. Jemma will put the photos up soon!
