Hi Mum,

Today Sue had to drive her son to his work in the city to pick up his car, so we went along but it was all driving, driving and we only got one photo and that was in the car wash!!!

Hi Mum,

Today we drove across the other side of the city - it wasn't a good day for photos though

here we are approaching the tunnel that goes under the Yarra River

here we are in the tunnel!

Now we are out the other side waiting for a train to go by on the level crossing.

Hi Mum,

Oohh!! Today I got sprung!! I went really quietly to the pantry because I could smell some lebkuchen and they had milk chocolate on them!!

Yum, yum,yum!!!
Then I found a whole box of cookies

I was trying to decide which one to taste when Binky came along and told me we were going outside!! Rats!! I will be back to explore these cookies!!

I sat in a gum tree with Binky for a while, but I don't think hedgehogs are made to sit in trees somehow!!

here we are down the bottom of the block - there is water in the dam which is very unusual for this time of the year - usually by now the grass is brown and everything has dried out, but not this year, there has been alot of rain.

Hi Mum,

I am still here  Sue has been a bit busy with work finishing up and getting ready for Christmas - but yesterday we went for a walk in the park - it was hot but we went ok

Here is Bubblegum with me by the old courthouse - it was built in 1851 so is old for Australia - not for Europe though 
Sue has run out of time to finish this update..more tomorrow

Hi Mum,

Back again!!

We are back in the park in Gisborne - this is the old horse stables out the back of the court house

and the jail

this sculpture was made by a woman with a chain saw (!!) from the branches of an old tree. It is two football players and a bulldog. The local footie (Australian Rules) team is called The Bulldogs.

we stopped at the creek so the chow chow could have a drink and a swim

then we walked up through these lovely old oak trees

we had a rest under one of the trees

mmm....I think a little hedgehog could be very happy here Mum!!

Hi Mum,
Today we had a big drive to the other side of the city to Sherbrooke, Sue's sister-in-law and family live there. They live right on Sherbrooke Forest.

some huge mountain ash gum trees in the front yard

we met Hector the goat, his job is to eat the grass and weeds and keep the yard tidy!

painting - Sue's sister-in-law did some amazing paintings of the coast and the ocean

the kookaburras came to the back decking for a fishy snack

we had a snack!! Yum!!

then we had dinner, roast turkey, roast vegies and greens!! Yum!!

Hi Mum,

Happy Christmas from Australia - it is 30 degrees today and very windy so we are staying inside!!

Hi Mum,

We had a walk today to Edwards Point, it is down the beach from where we were staying.

our first look at Swan Bay

this sign told us all about the plants and animals in the area - we saw lots of plants but no animals 

this is Sue's favourite tree on the walk - it has grown around in a circle

now we are heading out to the beach

we sat on the beach for a while and had a bit of relax time

we came across this tree root and thought it looked like an elephant so we pretended to have a ride!! 

in the afternoon we had a sit in the sun on the back verandah, we are on holidays!!

Hi Mum,

Today we had a walk in the opposite direction to Edwards Point - we were heading for the St Leonard's pier.
We had a good resting and looking place on the way

I don't think this is normal for a hedgehog but have a look at what we could see

it was very nice!

here we are having a look out over the beach to the pier.

Later in the afternoon we helped Sue with her travelling notebooks

and I got to try out a new sleeping bag!! A bit tight but pretty and shiny!!

Hi Mum,

Today we walked back to Edwards Point - we had a look out from a bench on the way

then we had a look at some native grasses - good for a hedgehog to snuffle around in I thought, but the others were looking out for snakes, but Sue said it was too cool for them today and we had been stamping out feet, so they would be scared away

Hey Mum,

Today we went to Queenscliffe to have a look around. It is a very old town (for Australia) and was established in the 1800's.

here we are looking at the surf beach

the ship in the distance is the ferry that is going to Tasmania

Next we went to the old fort



Next we went to the beach and the pier where people were fishing


we are looking along the beach back towards the fort here - lots of seaweed today

We got to sit up late and watch the fireworks on New Years Eve, the photos didn't come out too well sadly!!
