Weilburg, Germany - 13th January 2012
By: Noisy
Heyho Mom, Dad!
Many greetings from Weilburg, Hessen!
It is quite boring here, my host mom was down with influenza some days, now she is a little bit better...
So we TVs have to be quiet and have to play alone.
Here are still a lot of TVs, some of them will go on until the next days.
There are Potamus, Hessen-Leo, Leopoldi
and Herlinde and Taru.
We have finished a puzzle, that the other TVs have started earlier.
And we played cards, learned some basic facts about Hessen.
We needed a new calendar and got a new orchid

Hessen-Leo and I worked in the kitchen and we made a special hessian thing: "Handkäs mit Musik" -in english: hand cheese with music.
The ingredients
*some rolls of handcheese
*onions
*pepper
*oil
*vinegar
*cumin
We have put this all into a big boul and than we must wait for the next day.
We got a bread fresh from the baker, put some butter and one piece of cheese on it.
Puuuuuh, that was a stinky matter!
But it was soooooo yummi....
P.S. If you don't know why it is called ..."with music", you have to try this, and after that you will find out (it's because of the effect of the many onions )

Uuuuuuh.... I was allowed to visit a school!
Each Tuesday Noisy is going to the primary-school for helping some pupils with their homework.
There was a Teddy waiting for me, he gave me a warm welcome.
Behind the board was a map of Hessen.
I read a poster showing the right snack for pupils.
And I looked at the nice pictures and the calender and the funny snowman.

Hey mom, dad!
Look, what I have found!
A book only about bats!
I studied this instruction how to craft an origami-bat, and tomorrow I will try it myself.
Greetings from Hessen, it is nice here, even when we couldn't go out so much because of the bad weather and the flu of Noisy.

Hey mom,dad!
Tomorrow is the 19th birthday of Noisys son Florian.
And I could help baking a Frankfurter Kranz, another hessian speciality!
What a job!
Can you spot us TVs on the last picture? No? Why?
If you want to have the recipes of the meals and so, Noisy will write them all in the travelog of Hessen-Leo soon!

Gaudernbach, Germany - 25th January 2012
By: Noisy
Today we have looked for a big breeding for St.Bernhards-dogs in Gaudernbach.
Noisy told that she has had a St.Bernhards-dog all the time she is living with her husband on the farm. But the last one called Ricky died very young, he only was 4 years old and he was ill most time of his life.
Now she has got a Australien Working Kelpie, a very funny little dog.
This breed is special for herding sheeps, here the dog called Noisy should herd the ducks. But Noisy- the dog- is very young and has to learn a lot...

Weilburg, Germany - 26th January 2012
By: Noisy
Hey mom!
Today it was very cold outside, but we made a walk at the river Lahn.
There is a lot of water because of the many rainy days we have got here.
In Weilburg there is a little ship going across the river like a ferry - only by men craft. There is a strong rope from one side to the other side across the river and the men in the ship is pulling the people across and over- but only when the weather is warm.
Near the Rollship is a nice garden. We only could take a picture from outside the fence -- because the garden is closed while the winter. Noisy told us, that it is very nice and full of ideas when it is warmer weather.
Than we walked to the three tunnel. They are near beside the other - and Weilburg is the only town in the world having 3 tunnel like this. There is one for trains, one for cars and one for ships. In summer many Lahn- tourists will be there and and take the sluise with the canu.
There is also a Modell-machine-park. It took several years to build the little landscape. There is a little train , where you can sit on, going around. And there are many little construction machineries, and all streets and gardendesigns and walls and so on were build with this! But we could only have a look over the fence
Then we were on a little bridge made of steel. It was very wobbling
when we walked over it, and Herlinde almost fell down to the river

farm, Germany - 30th January 2012
By: Noisy
Hello mom, dad!
Have I told you, that Noisy has got a farm?
Today we made some pictures of the calves and the cows and the tractors and the chicken and.....oooh, there is a lot to see here!
The calves on the first two pictures are only some days old and it wasn't easy to take the photos.
The next calves were a little bit older and soooo curious about me, one even thought I was a sweet and he wants to lick me. But Noisy took me away in time! Than she told me, that Cows cannot bite, because they have only one row of tooth. Have you known that?
The cows on the next picture will get their calves the next weeks.
Than we have had a look into the next stable where the cattles live. These were the cows of tomorrow, Noisy said. They will get their first calves in the next year, and a cow is only a cow if she has even one calf.
The chicken and the rooster wouldn't come out of the house, because it was so cold. This is a very old breed caled Altsteirer. They don't lay as many eggs as a turbo-hybrid, but the meet is much better! Some years ago they were danger of extinction, but now there are many breeders again.
And the ducks have to eat all the naked snails, and they do! Last year Noisy got one pair of this funny ducks, now she has 3 pairs. They have to sit on some eggs in spring again. Hessen-Leo will show me the pictures than!
There is a big garage with a lot of machines. The biggest one - Noisy calles it her house, because it was so expensive like a house- is the mower -I don't know if this is the right word in english. It means the machine that cuts the corn.
The white car is the newest toy of Noisys son Florian. He's got one Golf and this one is the "spare parts store"
Can you see the box under the roof? there is an owl living and -as Noisy told me- has up to 5 young little owls each year. When she can catch a photo she wants to update it in the travelog of Hessen-Leo.
And in the dark part of the roof, somewhere are sleeping --guess what! -- MY RELATIVES!!!! There are a lot of bats around here in summer!
The last pictures show you some views out of the windows of the house.
It was a sunny day today, but it was very coooollllldddd, brrrrr, but I have seen a lot of new things.
Bye
Stoker
P.S. I forgot to show you the two MOST BUSINEST animals of this farm! The dog should herding the ducks and the cat should catch the mice. Normally. But what are they doing the whole day long??? Look yourself!
