hello, that I am "Buxi" with a catapult "blide". Two of these catapults destroyed our castle about 700 years before.
The stones in the background are the original projectiles and over 700 years old.

Duisburg, Germany - 7th November 2011
By: Lizzy
Wow, finally this is over... I never expected travelling would be so exhausting and nerve-wracking. And this was just through Germany.
About half an hour ago, someone grabbed the package I was in. I was so excited! I heard voices and then someone laid me down on something soft and I heard even more voices. But they were whispering, so I couldn't understand what they were saying.
I was really scared and so I just stayed in the envelope and waited. But I didn't hear anybody go away and I wanted to get out so I ripped it up from the inside and crawled out veeeery very slowly...
There were 4 other toys sitting around, waiting for me to come out. As I saw them, I was a bit scared and wanted to climb back into that envelope but then I saw what they were holding...
Awww, this was so cute and nice! I would have never ever expected that! They have been waiting for me and this was a kind of "Welcome party".
And the best thing is: These are mostly teddy bears!! Just like me!!! I'm so happy! I'm going to have such a great time here!!
They introduced each other and there we have:
Bodo, Cosy, Logan and Teddy (from the left). Bodo's the biggest and seems to be the oldest as well (later Cosy told me he is as old as my host. She got him when she was born, so he was her first toy ever! WOW!). We just talked for a while, but then I remembered I had something for my host so I climbed back into the package and got this letter out.
They were all very interested in what I had experienced so far on my trip, especially Cosy, because he is a ToyVoyager, too, and is just waiting to go on his first trip, which will lead him to Vienna.
We talked and talked and while we were talking, Cosy showed me around in my new "home".
This is Cosy's favourite place in the kitchen - surrounded by coffee and tea! So if I want to have any hot beverage, I can have it here. Very useful, because it is getting pretty cold here. Thank godness I'm wearing this warm leather clothes!
And this is his second favourite place. He said he usually gets here after being at his most favourite place(kitchen). You can choose a book and read it, while drinking your hot - whatever you have. I'll see if there is anything for me!
I'm very excited how everything will be! My host Liza told me, that she'll take me to her hometown on Saturday, where she is going to a performance by some famous musical actor (famous in Germany, don't know if anywhere else, too) and on Sunday I might meet some other TVs. This is going to be reeeeeeally interesting! I can't wait to see more!!!!
Daddy, you see - I had a safe journey.
Love,
Buxi

Düsseldorf - Angermund, Germany - 10th November 2011
By: Lizzy
Hey daddy!
Today my host took me to work. She's doing an apprenticeship as media designer in a small printing company and wanted to show me around. It's located in Düsseldorf, which is the provincial capital of Northrhine Westphalia, but it's an outlying area close to Duisburg and Ratingen called "Angermund". You know why it's called "Angermund"? well, I don't know. hehe.
Well, it was pretty hectical today, so my host wasn't able to take pictures of me with all the different kinds of paper and what else she is working with, but when we headed to the train station, it was so sunny and wonderful outside... So I can at least show you what Angermund looks like outside.
Very lovely, full of fields... You see?
And it was so warm so I just sat there for a while, enjoying the sun...
And I also met a horse! A real one. It was pretty big, so I was a bit scared and told my host not to hold me too close... You can't really see it is a horse, but it was! But after Lizzy took that picture the horse went away... Maybe I get to see it again...
Tomorrow Lizzy promised to take me to school with her and maybe show me a bit of Düsseldorf. Well, the real and big city! I'm very excited!
Bye, daddy!

Düsseldorf - City, Germany - 11th November 2011
By: Lizzy
Hey daddy!
Wow, that was a day. My host took me to school with her, which is in Düsseldorf. But not in Angermund or somewhere like that, it's in the city! There were sooooo many people!
Well, school wasn't really exciting, because I had to hide in the back, so that no one could hurt me anyway, but when school was out, my host took me to a carnival shop, which is funny, because as it was the 11/11/2011 the so called 5th season - carnival - started at 11:11 am. So the shop was full of people and they were playing some carnival music like "Viva Colonia". It was really funny. My host allowed me to look around a little, while she was waiting to return to costume.
There was a lot to see. They still had the halloween decoration up, so I avoided that part... It was a bit scary... But sooooo many costumes and decoration stuff for all kinds of partys...
They also had some christmas stuff. Don't I look nice, daddy?
I also found a place to relax. Hehe.
It was very cool, but my host didn't want to go to the Altstadt with me, because there were many many drunk people and so it would have been to dangerous for me... Sadly But carnival isn't over, it has just started. We'll see
I miss you, daddy!

Bochum, Germany - 13th November 2011
By: Lizzy
Hey daddy!
I have to tell you about the totally exciting day I had!
My host took me to Bochum to meet two other TVs and their hosts. It was pretty foggy when we hit the road, but it got very sunny and actually a bit warm later, so it was very nice.
We arrived at the main station in Bochum.
It isn't the nicest building ever, but it is okay
When you enter the city, there is this friendly "sign". It's so the christmas market
We went through the city for a while. Liza has been to Bochum quite often so she knew where to go.
But there was this store she's never seen before.
As it was Sunday where wasn't so much to see.
Apart from the christmas market stalls which starts on Thursday.
They even have a raindeer sleigh at the top of the Sparkasse there! Funny thing.
It was a shame the stalls weren't open yet...
So went kept on going. Here ist just another picture of the city
I tried to call you to say "hi" but you didn't answer the phone...
Then we started the "sight seeing tour". Our first stop was at the "Planetarium".
It deals with astronomy and stars and all that. We couldn't go in so I can't tell you what is inside there... But there I met the other ToyVoyagers and so we took some more pictures. There was this huge picture in front of the Planetarium, which was created for this years soccer worldchampionship of the women. As it was in Germany.
These are the other TVs. It Domino and Mr. Scraps.
I was allowed to play a little, before we went on to the next stop.
We went to a hill in Bochum, from where you can see Herne, Gelsenkirchen and some other cities and towns around Bochum. Well, usually, because it was still foggy, so the view wasn't the best. But it was nice anyway!
Liza allowed to take a look by myself and I found this huge footprint! I don't know who was here and whom footprint this is, but I asked to have a picture anyway. ^^
Then I played a little hide and seek or just relaxed in the sun.
Afterwards we went to the "Bergbau Museum", which is the most important museum about mining world wide and the most-visited museum in Germany. Amazing, isn't it?!
It was all very exciting and exhausting, so I took a rest...
And then we went on. Our next step was the Jahrhunderthalle. It's a festival hall, which used to be the gas power central of the Bochumer club.
It was really interesting because it used to be an armaments company during the world wars and it was full of smelting furnaces.
I had some time to play and look around there, too, so here are a few pictures of me. ^^
I tried to climb up this veeeeeeery high building here, but failed
I was a bit sad, that it didn't work, to I just sat down and enjoyed the silence...
Here are some pictures of the building and everything around it
There is a nice landscape, too. With a small river. It was so sunny, when we got there, so I just relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine.
And I climbed up a wall there. Can you see me???
And last but not least we went on to the "Stadionring". There is a musical theatre. The musical is about trains and a championship... What was its name again?? Ah, yeah. Starlight Express.
There is a steamtrains, who is in love with the first-class-carriage, but this carriage wants to race with the diesel and the electric train during the worldchampionship so she leaves him. But Rusty (the steam train) gets her back in the end. Sadly we didn't watch the show, but on Sunday there is a benefit gala and Liza said, she'll take me with her. They're doing numbers from other musicals. I'm pretty excited because I don't know any of the people there (well, one, but I'll get to that later) and they are playing trains all day and then they do something else??? Huh???
Okay, let's get back to the theatre. There is this steam train in front of the theatre! It's HUUUUUUGE!
And there is a carriage, too.
Then we wanted to leave, but before we left I met this guy.
He is an actor in Starlight Express. He is American and was really nice. He did something like TV before, so he knew a little about what we were doing, which was very nice. He offered to take us backstage, but just us TVs, but my host said no... She was bit surprised I guess. I hope I get to meet him again.
When we went to the tram, from where you can see the football stadium.
That was my final picture. During the way home I feel asleep in Lizas bag. It was very very exciting, but soooo tiring, too.
I miss you, daddy, but I'm having such a good time here.

Duisburg, Germany - 19th November 2011
By: Lizzy
Hey!
Today a new TV arrived! We knew, that someone was about to arrive, but today the envelope has been in the letter box.
It was pretty small, so me and Sanji have been very excited!
Sanji opened the envelope to see who is inside and who our new friend is and then this cute little pink bear climed out!
She was very shy, but after a while she told us, who she is.
Her name is Cassy and he is from Austria. Vienna, to be exact! How cool! I haven't been to Austria yet, so Cessy told us a bit about her home.
And then she got some presents out of the envelope. Some sweets and a card! Very cute!!
And in silence me, Sanji and Cessy decided to eat all the sweets when our host is not home. Hehe.
I guess, we'll be having a good time.
Welcome, Cessy!

Duisburg, Germany - 26th November 2011
By: Lizzy
Heeeeey!
I'm having a great time here, which I'm spending with Buxi and Cessy mostly. My host had to work a lot during the past week so she wasn't able to take us out and take some pictures. But today we got to see a bit of Duisburg.
It is pretty cold at the moment, but still above 0° C so there is no snow yet... We went out for a walk around a beautiful sea.
It's at the "Wedau Sportpark". When it's warmer, they open the climbing park there which means you can climb up the trees there and make ones way along a rope through the park, which is very exciting I guess!
But sadly it is too cold already and so it is too dangerous...
So we just walked a round the sea once...
In summer many people hang out here because they scattered sand at a few spots, so you can just sit down in the sand and relax... We also did that
But it was very very cold and there was another reason we couldn't stay out there for so long, because we wanted to meet up with Lizas parents and walk through the city... It's christmas market time already here!!
But it was very full so Liza didn't take many pictures, because she was afraid someone could bump into her while taking a picture and one of us would fall down and maybe get lost or something... Thank god that didn't happen!
The christmas market was lovely, nevertheless. They put up some blue "trees" (they're fake, of course) and when it's getting darker, they switch on the lights and everything is so coloful then... Maybe we get there again... Probably... The markets closes on December 23rd, so there's enough time left.
We found a little chinese restaurant in the city and so we had dinner there.
Bye bye!!
I miss you daddy...

Duisburg, Germany - 3rd December 2011
By: Lizzy
Hey daddy!
Today we baked some cookies! It was the day before the 2nd Advent and my host had bought some stuff for looooots of cookies. And we were allowed to help a little!
We needed the help of all 3 TVs in the house to roll the pasty so that we could cut out the cookies with the forms.
I loved this santa form! You see?
This is just a bit of what we baked!! They are delicious! I love them!
Bye, daddy!

By: Lizzy
Hey dad!
Today was a very happy and a very sad day at the same time.
A new TV arrived at my hosts home. His name is Luk Zeke and he is a penguin.
He looks very nice, but sadly I won't get the chance to get to know him better, because I'm leaving Duisburg tomorrow and get on to Siegertsbrunn. It's in Germany, too, and I'm very excited to see all the new places there!
So I got into the envelope
and tomorrow morning Liza will get me to the post office!!
