Hexham, North East England - 21st May 2012
By: Snamoen
Hi Mum!
Today was a very busy day, we had lots of fun. Hostmum's friend, Gizalba came to visit, and she bought her TVs with her, so there were lots of us!
First we went to see Hexham Abbey.
Here we all are inside the Abbey. There's Pinky Bear, Paula Hip, Flummi, Tobbi, me, Imperio and Edelweiss.
Then we went in the crypt. It was very small down there, and everything was really old - it was from the 7th Century.
Once we'd seen the Abbey, we went to see the 'Old Gaol', which was the first ever jail in England.
Then we thought it would be fun to take a group picture in the stocks!
After that, we went to the orphanage, where we met Hippy, who came home with Hostmum.
Then we went to the park. It was such a nice day and the sun was actually shining for once. Look Mum - I climbed a tree!!
Hostmum and her friend sat in the park for a while, while all of us ran around and had fun amongst the flowers. Can you see Hippy?
Then we saw a monument - so we had to have our picture taken in front of it. It's a monument dedicated to all those people that fought in WWI & WWII
It was a very nice day today, but I'm quite tired now!
Bye,
Sheela

Chesters Roman Fort, North East England - 22nd May 2012
By: Snamoen
Hi Mum,
Today was such a lovely, sunny day that we decided to go for a nice walk and visit the Roman Fort at Chester.
Isn't the English countryside beautiful?
The Roman Fort is part of Hadrian's wall - a massive 200km long wall that stretched from one end of England to the other. In some places it was more than 10m high! It was built in AD122, almost 2000 years ago, under the command of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The wall meant that the Scot's couldn't invade, so his empire was safe.
Here I am with Flummi, Tobbi, Hippy and Paula Hip. We're standing in front of the barracks - where the soldiers slept.
Gizalba and her visiting TVs Imperio, Pinky Bear and Edelweiss were also with us - we had a lot of fun together.
Here we are in what used to be the 'steam room' - what we now know as a sauna.
In this picture we're sitting in what used to be the 'lockers' of the baths - the place where soldiers put their things while they used the baths.
Then we explored the Commandant's house!
After all that exploring, we thought it was time for a short break by the river.
Because the weather was so nice, we all had a bit of a sunbathe.
After all that time out in the sun, it was time for some shade.
The shade cooled us off a little bit, but we were all still pretty hot. So hostmum treated us to an ice cream - it was delicious, and just what I needed!
After we had all finished our ice cream, we decided that it was probably time to head back to Hostmum's home.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a package.
Quickly, let's open it and see who's inside!
It's Huhn! He looked a bit shocked - I don't think he was expecting to see so many of us Tvs!
But we quickly made him feel welcome, and pretty soon it was like we were all old friends!
So Mum, that was my day - it was really good. I had a lot of fun.
Bye,
Sheela

Hexham, North East England - 1st June 2012
By: Snamoen
Hi Mum,
Today was a both a sad and happy day as we said goodbye to two TVs.
First I said bye to Tobbi and wished him a good journey to Yorkshire.
Then I said bye to Hippy and wished him a safe journey and told him he'll have a great time. (He was a little nervous as it's his first ever voyage.
Then we all said goodbye to them one last time, and off they went!
But almost as soon a they had left, two packages arrived!
Let's see who is in the first envelope... it's Lizzy Lizard!
Then we all opened the second package.
And it's _Mishuta_! Here we all are - Flummi, me, Huhn, Mishuta, Paula Hip and Lizzy.
Then we decided to go for a short walk - here's the view from outside hostmum's house.
As you can see, it's not very sunny anymore, but it's still quite hot, just very cloudy.
We decided to go to Brunton Turret, which is another part of Hadrian's Wall.
Here we are on what used to be the turret.
Can you see me on the wall?
Here I am!
On the way back to hostmum's house, some sheep came to say hello.
As you can see, it's been quite a busy day - saying bye to two friends and meeting two new friends, and then exploring more of the countryside and Hadrian's Wall.
Bye!
Sheela

Durham, North East England - 6th June 2012
By: Snamoen
Hi Mum!
Today was such a fun day!! Hostmum's college at university was having a special party that we all went to.
The theme was 'Alice in Wonderland'. So naturally, we started the day by watching the Disney movie of Alice in Wonderland. I hadn't seen it before - it's such a funny film. I liked the butterflies that looked like bread.
Then, because it was such a nice day, we went outside. And oh boy - the back yard really did look like something from Alice in Wonderland! They had decorated everywhere and there were lots of games. There was even a bouncy castle!! Unfortunately we couldn't go on that, as there were a lot of students on there. Hostmum said that they had had a few Pimms, so were a bit rowdy...
But look - here I am with one of the decorations.
Then we thought it would be fun to try some of the games. First we went bowling. There were two teams - unfortunately I lost, but it was a good game!
Then we played giant checkers. I tell you what Mum, I felt like I was on Harry Potter - except I wasn't riding a horse or a knight, but checkers! It was a lot of fun, and my team won!
And finally, we played giant 'four in a row'. Look how big it is!
I won this game as well - I was yellow.
It was such a fun day - and I really did feel like I had drank that potion from Alice in Wonderland, the one that makes you shrink, because everything was so big!
Bye,
Sheela
