North Bay Village, FL, United States - 20th January 2012

By: marina

Hi Mummy! :stare: I arrived in Miami, Florida a few days ago. I met Franklin and Boris Tonks here!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/zroing/P10002162.jpg

I am glad Boris is here because he is just my size and perfect to play with! :cyclops: He helped me ride Franklin's toy mammoth:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/zroing/P1000218.jpg

We also read before bed together… Franklin lent us some of his books, which are just the right size for us!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/zroing/P1000226.jpg

I showed Boris my travel journal, which arrived a few days after I did.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/zroing/P1000227.jpg

Then we went to sleep. There isn't much to do here because my host is almost never home these days. I heard from Franklin that she is going out every day to look for a job and has been doing that for a long time now. But I am having fun with Boris so far!

It's so great to be home again. I'm totally amazed how many TV's have visited while I was travelling and how many are currently staying here. Hope to have a great time with them until I continue my journeys. Being welcomed by Coco Presley was a special pleasure, of course.

We went to Mannheim because Mum had to do some things there. She showed us the water tower and the Friedrichsplatz behind it with its beautiful fountains and flowers.

Mum has found a new host for me. I'm travelling to the United Kingdom. How exciting. All TV's said good-bye to me and wished me a good journey.

Hexham, North East England - 16th May 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum!

I've arrived safely in Great Britain.  My journey was fine - although I'm glad to be out of the envelope!

Tobbi was there to greet me.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090537400x300.jpg

I showed him the sweets that I brought with me and he seemed to like them!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090538400x300.jpg

He pointed out that Snoopy, hostmum's cat, had come to say hello as well.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090539400x300.jpg

Then it was time for the tour of the house.  I really liked this elephant!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090544300x400.jpg

After the tour we sat down and enjoyed the view.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090543400x300.jpg

I can't wait to start exploring the area!

Bye,
Sheela

Hexham, North East England - 18th May 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum!

Two more TVs arrived today.  Tobbi and I were very excited when we saw the two packages, we both wondered who would be inside them.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090545400x300.jpg

Together we opened the first package and saw that it was Paula Hip, who has travelled from Germany.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090547400x300.jpg

Then the three of us opened the other package and we saw that it was Flummi.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090549400x220.jpg

Now there's four of us here!  It's nice - there's lot of company.  We showed them around the house, and then the garden.  Here we all are underneath a Bonzai tree.  Of course, Tobbi had to climb it!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090552300x400.jpg

Then we decided to play hide and seek.  I didn't see where the others hid, but I found a really good hiding place.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090562400x300.jpg

I could hear that Tobbi had found all the others, but they hadn't found me.  It took them a while!  I could hear them searching for me and saying 'I wonder if she's behind the Bonzai tree?'  They had a look, and when they turned around, they finally saw me!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090566300x400.jpg

It was a lot of fun.  But we were all quite tired afterwards - we only have little legs after all!  So we all joined Snoopy for a nap.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090571400x300.jpg

Hexham, North East England - 21st May 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum!

Today was a very busy day, we had lots of fun.  Hostmum's friend, Gizalba came to visit, and she bought her TVs with her, so there were lots of us!

First we went to see Hexham Abbey.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070281400x300.jpg

Here we all are inside the Abbey.  There's Pinky Bear, Paula Hip, Flummi, Tobbi, me, Imperio and Edelweiss.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070260300x400.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070264400x286.jpg

Then we went in the crypt.  It was very small down there, and everything was really old - it was from the 7th Century.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070291295x400.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070288300x400.jpg

Once we'd seen the Abbey, we went to see the 'Old Gaol', which was the first ever jail in England.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070265300x400.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070274400x300.jpg

Then we thought it would be fun to take a group picture in the stocks!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070271400x300.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070272400x300.jpg

After that, we went to the orphanage, where we met Hippy, who came home with Hostmum.

Then we went to the park.  It was such a nice day and the sun was actually shining for once.  Look Mum - I climbed a tree!!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070299300x400.jpg
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070302300x400.jpg

Hostmum and her friend sat in the park for a while, while all of us ran around and had fun amongst the flowers.  Can you see Hippy?
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070310300x400.jpg

Then we saw a monument - so we had to have our picture taken in front of it.  It's a monument dedicated to all those people that fought in WWI & WWII
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070316300x400.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070317400x300.jpg

It was a very nice day today, but I'm quite tired now!

Bye,
Sheela

Chesters Roman Fort, North East England - 22nd May 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum,

Today was such a lovely, sunny day that we decided to go for a nice walk and visit the Roman Fort at Chester.

Isn't the English countryside beautiful?
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090573300x400.jpg

The Roman Fort is part of Hadrian's wall - a massive 200km long wall that stretched from one end of England to the other.  In some places it was more than 10m high!  It was built in AD122, almost 2000 years ago, under the command of the Roman Emperor Hadrian.  The wall meant that the Scot's couldn't invade, so his empire was safe.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090587400x300.jpg

Here I am with Flummi, Tobbi, Hippy and Paula Hip.  We're standing in front of the barracks - where the soldiers slept.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090578400x300.jpg

Gizalba and her visiting TVs Imperio, Pinky Bear and Edelweiss were also with us - we had a lot of fun together.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090580400x300.jpg

Here we are in what used to be the 'steam room' - what we now know as a sauna.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090594400x300.jpg

In this picture we're sitting in what used to be the 'lockers' of the baths - the place where soldiers put their things while they used the baths.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090593300x400.jpg

Then we explored the Commandant's house!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090610400x300.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090602400x300.jpg

After all that exploring, we thought it was time for a short break by the river.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090582400x300.jpg

Because the weather was so nice, we all had a bit of a sunbathe.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090592300x400.jpg

After all that time out in the sun, it was time for some shade.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090612400x300.jpg

The shade cooled us off a little bit, but we were all still pretty hot.  So hostmum treated us to an ice cream - it was delicious, and just what I needed!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090627300x400.jpg

After we had all finished our ice cream, we decided that it was probably time to head back to Hostmum's home.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a package.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070322400x300.jpg

Quickly, let's open it and see who's inside!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070323400x300.jpg

It's Huhn!  He looked a bit shocked - I don't think he was expecting to see so many of us Tvs!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070324400x300.jpg

But we quickly made him feel welcome, and pretty soon it was like we were all old friends!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070326400x300.jpg

So Mum, that was my day - it was really good.  I had a lot of fun.

Bye,
Sheela

Hexham, North East England - 25th May 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum,

The past few days have been gorgeous weather, so we've been making the most of it.

Here we all are, playing outside and enjoying the sunshine.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070347400x300.jpg

All that playing has tired us out - time to just sit back and relax.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070339300x400.jpg

After all that sun, I needed a nice cool drink to cool myself down.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070342300x400.jpg

Then, while the others did their own thing, I decided it would be nice to lie on the sun-lounger reading a magazine.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070377400x300.jpg

It's been a very nice, sunny, relaxing day!

Hugs,
Sheela

Angel Of The North, North East England - 26th May 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum!

Today we went for a short drive to visit one of the landmarks of the North East of England.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070380400x300.jpg

It's the 'Angel of the North'.  I wasn't expecting it to be so big!  It's 20m (66ft) tall and the wings are 54m (177ft) long!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070381300x400.jpg

Hostmum treated us to an ice cream as well, yum.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1070387300x400.jpg

When we got back to hostmum's house, we decided that a fruit smoothie would be perfect for this weather.  But, we had to make it first!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090647400x300.jpg

I was in charge of passing the strawberries and raspberries to Tobbi to put in the jug.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090648300x400.jpg

The finished smoothie - doesn't it look delicious?
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090649400x300.jpg

It sure did taste nice, and in this hot weather it was the perfect drink - cool, refreshing and fruity.  Yum!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090653300x400.jpg

Afterwards, hostmum gave us some olives to try.  Some of the TVs didn't like them, but I thought they were delicious.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090666300x400.jpg

Hugs,
Sheela

Hexham, North East England - 1st June 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum,

Today was a both a sad and happy day as we said goodbye to two TVs.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090790400x300.jpg

First I said bye to Tobbi and wished him a good journey to Yorkshire.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090793400x300.jpg

Then I said bye to Hippy and wished him a safe journey and told him he'll have a great time.  (He was a little nervous as it's his first ever voyage.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090798400x300.jpg

Then we all said goodbye to them one last time, and off they went!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090796400x300.jpg

But almost as soon a they had left, two packages arrived!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090802400x300.jpg

Let's see who is in the first envelope... it's Lizzy Lizard!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090804400x300.jpg

Then we all opened the second package.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090806400x300.jpg

And it's _Mishuta_!  Here we all are - Flummi, me, Huhn, Mishuta, Paula Hip and Lizzy.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090807400x300.jpg

Then we decided to go for a short walk - here's the view from outside hostmum's house.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090841400x300.jpg

As you can see, it's not very sunny anymore, but it's still quite hot, just very cloudy.

We decided to go to Brunton Turret, which is another part of Hadrian's Wall.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090812400x300.jpg

Here we are on what used to be the turret.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090822400x300.jpg

Can you see me on the wall?
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090824300x400.jpg

Here I am!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090825300x400.jpg

On the way back to hostmum's house, some sheep came to say hello.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090813400x300.jpg

As you can see, it's been quite a busy day - saying bye to two friends and meeting two new friends, and then exploring more of the countryside and Hadrian's Wall.

Bye!

Sheela

Durham, North East England - 3rd June 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum!

Today we went to Durham, which is where hostmum goes to university.  We met up with hostmum's friend Gizalba again and spent the day exploring her college grounds.  It was great seeing Edelweiss again, and meeting Tapsi.

Here we all are by the pond.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/CIMG2251400x300.jpg

We saw this war memorial - it's dedicated to those that lost their lives in WW1.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/CIMG2255300x400.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/CIMG2254400x300.jpg

Here I am with the memorial and Durham Cathedral in the background.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090875300x400.jpg

Look Mum, I saw a rainbow!  Isn't it pretty?
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/CIMG2266300x400.jpg

It was starting to get a bit chilly, so we had one last group picture taken with the cathedral in the background before going inside.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1090880300x400.jpg

I thought it would be fun to have a game of Monopoly on the machine in the bar.  Unfortunately I didn't win.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/CIMG2294400x300.jpg

To finish the evening, we all had a cocktail.  It was very yummy.  But don't worry Mum, I was sensible and didn't drink too much.  Judging by the camera-shake, hostmum wasn't quite as sensible as I was...!  ;)

Durham, North East England - 6th June 2012

By: Snamoen

Hi Mum!

Today was such a fun day!!  Hostmum's college at university was having a special party that we all went to.

The theme was 'Alice in Wonderland'.  So naturally, we started the day by watching the Disney movie of Alice in Wonderland.  I hadn't seen it before - it's such a funny film.  I liked the butterflies that looked like bread.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1100018400x294.jpg

Then, because it was such a nice day, we went outside.  And oh boy - the back yard really did look like something from Alice in Wonderland!  They had decorated everywhere and there were lots of games.  There was even a bouncy castle!!  Unfortunately we couldn't go on that, as there were a lot of students on there.  Hostmum said that they had had a few Pimms, so were a bit rowdy...
But look - here I am with one of the decorations.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1100023400x300.jpg

Then we thought it would be fun to try some of the games.  First we went bowling.  There were two teams - unfortunately I lost, but it was a good game!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1100034400x300.jpg

Then we played giant checkers.  I tell you what Mum, I felt like I was on Harry Potter - except I wasn't riding a horse or a knight, but checkers!  It was a lot of fun, and my team won!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1100040300x400.jpg

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/P1100039400x300.jpg
