We had a big drive in the car to Balwyn today - Sue was volunteering for the Australian Orangutan Project at the netball day. It was orange day! We were in charge of the cupcakes - and said hello to the orangutans that were there.

After the netball we drove to the city and went to the Craft and Quilt show - we didn't get a photo at the show because there were lots of people- it was very crowded. When we were leaving we had a look at an old sailing ship outside called the Polly Woodside.

This afternoon we went out in to the garden to help put the prunings on the rubbish heap - it is a lovely sunny day but very windy. We found the first daffodils in flower and i had a look at another gum tree -this one has red flowers but they won't come until summer.

This weekend we have been to the beach! We had one sunny day and one wet day. We went for a walk to the shops and saw some gum trees and trees Sue thinks are teatrees that grow near the water. We had a good time out and about!! We found a really nice camellia flower in the garden when we got back and I had a smell of the jasmine - was beautiful but it made me sneeze!!

On Sunday we went for another walk and we found some gum nuts - they come on the tree after the flowers and some late gum flowers! We were lucky to find these as most of the gum trees have finished flowering.

Gisborne, Australia - 12th August 2011

Hello again!!
Tonight we helped Sue cook dinner. We put a can of chicken and vege soup, a cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tbsp curry powder in a pot and brought it to the boil, then let it cool a little. Then we took the meat off a cooked chicken and put it in a dish - we cut up and cooked some brocolli and mixed that with the chicken. Then we poured over the soup mixture and put grated cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Then it went under the grill. Smelt really good We served it up with boiled rice!! Yum!!
Love and hugs from Australia
