Maryborough, Australia - 17th July 2011
By: fleursmum
Hello there,
Today we went out in the cold and the rain to visit Maryborough with some family. We stopped in Kyneton to have a cuppa, then went on to Maryborough - we had a quick look at the station then went on to the Highland Club for lunch. See the funny man with bagpipes?? We drove up a hill and went up a tower I could see trees for along way. We then went on to Tarnagulla and saw iron bark gum trees.

Today was a cold and wet and windy day so we were inside - Some of Sues friends came over to do their scrap booking - one brought her sewing. In the evening we went pout in the cold to Quilting and Friendship group and saw a beautiful quilt one of the ladies had finished. http://gisbornequilters.blogspot.com/

Gisborne, Ausralia - 23rd July 2011
By: fleursmum
Today we went for a walk with the chow - it was cold and frosty but we saw lots of trees, gum trees, wattle trees (one with yellow flowers) a kowhai tree (it comes from New Zealand Sue told me) and a hebe, which comes from NZ too and another one with yellow fruit - we don;t know what that one is but we liked it! We saw oak trees too - they have their brown leaves because it is winter.

Today was an at home day and we did some cooking - we made fruit and nut muffins! Yum! We put in 2 cups self raising flour, a handful of dried nuts and fruits (we had gogi berries and sultanas) 6 tablespoons of sugar, 1 cup milk, quarter cup melted butter, 1 egg, we mixed it all up and put it in the muffin pans - we had turned the oven on before and heated it to 200 degrees C - then we put the muffins in to cook for 15 mins. They looked and smelt wonderful!

Hanging Rock, Australia - 27th July 2011
By: fleursmum
Hello!
Today we drove to Hanging Rock - Sue was hoping to show us a koala but the Ranger said there were just 3 or 4 koalas in the reserve. We looked up high in the trees but couldn't find one anywhere. We walked up to the top and had a great view though. Lots and lots of trees and strange rocks. There was a story and movie made about Hanging Rock years ago - a group of school girls and their teachers had an outing there and two of the girls went missing and were never found again. A bit spooky huh!! We were safe though )
