Sohland, Germany - 28th December 2011
By: LadyButterfly
Hey mommy!!!
Long time since we wrote our last update, but we are sure you know why! So now it's time to tell you something about our first christmas in germany. It is very different to the american christmas, but also very nice and funny!
Every day since the first day of december we opened little doors on a calender. LadyButterfly has no clue if we have this in Texas too, because there is no translation in the Google translator.
So she told us, it is better we tell you about the calender. This is a calender which starts on the first of december and has 24 doors. One door for every day since christmas. Behind every door is a piece of chocolate, so we had a sweet surprise every day.
On christmas eve we opened the last door of the calender!
It was a nice day, the christmas eve! First of all we drove with LadyButterfly and her little family to her parents. They always spend christmas with the family and now she told us... in the time we are her guest, we are a part of her family, so we followed them.
When we arrived in Sohland, we could watch how LadyButterflys dad set up the christmas tree. He told us, this year the tree is almost perfect.
After that it was time to take a little rest! So we and the other TV guests decided to sit around the wreath and watch the flames of the candles.
We had also much to read! We got many christmas cards of other TV hosts. It was nice to read all the christmas wishes... we were all really happy!!!
Then the real christmas eve started. After the family went to church to see the nativity scene we had a very nice dinner. LadyButterfly made her famouse creme brulee and then we had to go out a little bit!
It was a little bit strange, because we weren't allowed to go into the living room anymore. Just LadyButterflys parents and Santa were allowed to go in. LadyButterfly told us the difference between american and german christmas. In Germany the people unpack their presents on the christmas eve and her parents and Santa prepared the living room for this moment.
Then we were allowed to go inside! And what we saw was an ocean of candles and presents. Under the tree where presents for the whole family, but LadyButterfly had also a surprise for us!
We (and the other TVs) got our own christmas tree and also little presents!
But we also want to show you the real and big christmas tree!
After the dinner and all the presents we were very tired. So we both cuddled infront of a nice and warm fire and decided... this was a great and very new christmas for us!
Oh and the best of all mommy... we had snow! It snowed all night, so we had a white christmas!
Mommy, we hope you had also a nice christmas!
We miss you very much!
Love

HAPPY NEW YEAR MOMMY!
OMG... what an amazing night!
Mommy we hope your year 2012 started as nice as ours! We had such a great TV-party with all our new friends. We were so happy to spend it here and with them.
We celebrated the new years eve as christmas in Sohland with LadyButterflys parents. As christmas they welcomed us warmly and we were happy to spend it with them.
But first of all, we should tell you of the day befor! When we looked out of the window... guess what we saw? SNOW!!!
It was unbelievable, because the last days were so warm, no one expected snow. But almost one night and one day it snowed, but now everything is allready thawed.
Yesterday, quiet early we drove to LadyButterflys parents. There we met Rio! He is a very nice and friendly dog of our hosts parents. They adopted him some years ago from spain, were he had a very bad life! Dogs aren't very popular in spain and many people kill the dogs because they life on the street.
But Rio has a owner and learned to hunt of him. But Rio wasn't a good hound dog so his owner wanted to kill him. Rio ran away and almost dead of hunger and thirst a english man found him in a dried riverbed.
Rio had much luck to find such a nice family and he feels very good here... he only told us, it is to cold here in Germany for him.
But then our party started!
We had all together a great dinner! We made raclett with many meat, cheese, pineapple, bread and many other delicious things. It is so funny and it was so loud in the kitchen, because we all told us about our New years eves at home, we laughed and talked the whole dinner!
We fried some chicken on the hot stone, put it into the little pan and baked it with cheese. You will not believe how tasty it was!
After dinner LadyButterfly gave us a cool cocktail!
Here is the recipt and it is very easy!
You just have to take some peaches out of the can and puree it. Then give it into glasses and fill them with champagne! It is a very light drink and perfect for a good party!
We also played games... this one is called "The game of knowledge" hihi it was a little bit strange for us, because it was in german, but the other TVs gave us good advices!
And then midnight comes closer and closer! We all waited for the new year, with champagne!
At 0:00 am the hell broke out outside! Rockets and other crackers were ignited and we all ran out to make the same. We were so happy... we tested if we can send us with a rocket to you... but it hadn't worked. So we burned the rocket without us!
(Don't worry we made this just for the photo... nothing happens to your TVs)
Sadly it started to rain, so we hurried to get back in! But in the kitchen waited another special event for us. LadyButterfly isn't sure if we do this at home to... so she told us what it is.
It is called pour leading and you have to melt the lead over a candle. Then you have to put the hot and liquid lead into cold water and from the new lead object you can read the future.
You wouldn't believe what our new object was... it was plane and it means... we will travel a lot in the year 2012!
Ohhh our New Years Eve was great and we hope yours too!

Ebersbach, Germany - 23rd January 2012

Heyho mommy!
Baaaaaad time! Everyone got ill, it was rainy and later snowy outside! It is icecold and not very nice outside, so we better had to stay inside. Also LadyButterfly wasn't able to go out, she had to stay in bed with a pharyngitis. She wasn't able to talk or anything else, so we made our own program here.
It was also funny, without LadyButterfly!
The coolest thing was, we could eat what we want! And one day we found white chocolate in a cupboard. We decided it was time to make a real chocolate fondue.
Ok, we were a little bit sorry, because LadyButterfly couldn't eat with us, but so there was much more for us!
It was very easy to melt the chocolate in the pot not hard quest for us!
Hmmm melting chocolate smells so good... we had to be carefull not to fall in the pot!
In the living room LadyButterflys boyfriend prepared everything for our meal. He made coffee and tea for us and cuted some fruits for the fondue.
And it was so great! We decided, we love fondue with white chocolate and apples.
But there was also a time we had to go outside! In the snow, together with LadyButterflys boyfriend. When she was ill, he took care for us and took us with him to his parents farm.
He asked us and the other TVs if we are strong enough to help them cutting some trees down. Every year in winter, they had to do this. They need the wood from the trees to keep the house warm and had also to cut ill trees. Every year it's the same procedure!
Sure we wanted to go with him and also we wanted to help him. So we cutted one tree with the chainsaw!
After that, we had to cut the trees into handy pieces, to bring them to the trailer. It was very hard, but all TVs together we managed it!
Please don't be mad because we have only group photos! This was LadyButterflys boyfriends first time taking photos of us TVs and he didn't know it is better to take single photos!
It was a really hard day outside, but it was also very funny! Nevertheless we are happy we can stay inside... it's to cold outside!
We miss you mommy!

Sohland, Germany - 27th January 2012
By: LadyButterfly
Hey mommy!
We were soooooooo brav! We were outside in the coldness! Together with LadyButterfly we took a walk together and she showed us the lake near her parents house.
First we had to climb this sign to show you where we are. We were at the "Stausee" the lake is called so... he has no really name, just Stausee and when we google it, it is translated with reservoir. So we called him "Stausee" further.
And this is the "Stausee"!
He is a very popular place in Sohland and in spring and summer many people are here. They walk around the lake, drive boat on it, go fishing or just eat ice or drink a beer in the restaurants garden. It's a very nice place, but now the lake is frozen and there is no chance to fish or drive boat. You only meet some people with their dogs. But that's ok, LadyButterfly said, so it is nice to walk alone!
We also walked around the "Stausee" and it took us 30 minutes. After that we were a little bit tired and needed a rest. So we sat on this rock near the water. It was a little bit romantic and we decided if we were a couple and if there is a sunset... it will be the perfect place for a romantic date!
Nevertheless... we snuggled on the stone!
And here we are! You can see the place where we are on the map... the red spot!
Boooooooh... we are the two headed guardian of the playground in Sohland! Hehe are you scared mommy? Are we looking dangerous?
That was funny to take pictures with this figure!
This bridge has a special story!
In august 2010 was a bad flood in east-saxony! It rained over many days. It won't stop and the river "Spree" grows bigger and bigger. This brigde was almost flooded by the water! Do you see the bows? They were covered with water and also the place where we stood when we took this picture. Just some moments befor this bridge was closed by the fire department, LadyButterfly to cross it by car. She said she had never seen something like this befor and was a little bit scared!
For some people and villages this flood was a desaster!
And in the end of our trip, we build two snowman, one for both of us! It was so funny, but also icecold for our fingers. So we hurried to get back in and were happy for the chance to sit infront of the fireplace!
That was a really cool day and LadyButterfly promised, the next will also be very funny!
So have a nice night mommy!

Sornßig near Löbau, Germany - 30th January 2012
By: LadyButterfly
Hey mommy!
We made another trip outside, but it's getting colder! Now here are - 7°C in the early evening and the forecast said it will be up to -20°C! Germany is freezing!
So the last weekend we were in Sornßig, it is a really, really tiny village and you won't find it on the map. But there lifes LadyButterflys boyfriends family on a little farm.
So in the afternoon we took the buggy and LadyButterflys daughter and took a walk around the village.
Actually you can see on this place a wonderfull landscape, but the weekend it was very hazy... so we could only see snow!
In the wood we found a litte creek! The water looks icecold and LadyButterfly said, if we fall in, she won't rescue us, because she won't freeze to death in it. But don't worry, we didn't fell in!
Hihi when it got darker we scared LadyButterfly a little bit! She saw the movie "The blair witch project" and since that, she is afraid in dark woods. We made scary noise... it was sooooo funny!
After half of the way, we found a hay rack, where we took a rest!
We were happy to get back in, but LadyButterfly asked us if we want to help on the farm. The animals are now in the stable, because it's to cold for them outside. So we followed into the stable, where we met Ella and Christl.
LadyButterfly told us, Ella is very special for her, because she is the first cow, she saw as a calf and she was also allowed to give Ella her name! Christl the brown cow, got her name, because she was born on Christmas.
Eye in eye with Ella! She is so friendly, but we recognized... we are very tiny!
And because we also want to have fun... we played all together hide and seek in the hay. It was so funny... but the hay pricks our bottoms!
So mommy... we had a really nice weekend and we hope you too!
Love

HIIIIII!
We have arrived in Norway!
Were waiting in the mailbox, when hostess got home from work, very tired, and hungry!
And ofcourse we helped her make dinner!
This is traditional Norwegian food, its sour porage, made from some kind of sour cream, and this powder, because hostess is lazy and it goed quick
This is the sour cream we used, its called RØMME in Norway
Its also very good for dipping, as in dipping chips in it as snacks, or even for veggies as a healthier snack!
Us, playing with the food :P hahaha
Its almost done!
Only has to boild for 7 minutes, but has to stir all the time, or else it will burn right away!
All of us, sitting waiting for the food...
FOOD!
Served with butter, sugar and cinnamon...
We feel very welcome here already, we had good food, and has lots of TVs to talk to and play with

Hi mom!!!
We have been GEOCACHING!
Its a treasure hunt, with a GPS, read more about it at: Geocaching Site
It was a nice little walk in the forrest, next to a lake, called Brunsjøen (Brownlake), and that was the name of the cache aswell
We found the treasure!!!
It wasn't too big, but big enough for a few toys...
There was no toys in it already, so we left a few, for the next person to find if they want it
And then hostess and her boyfriend wrote their nick names in the logg, as proof that they had been there and found it!
It was a very nice vieuw from where the treasure was hidden...
And thats also the point with Geocaching, you see places you wouldnt have gone to, or known about!
Its still ice on the lake, but the path to the cache was almost all dry, some places still had snow, and was a bit wet, but it went good!
The tourist organization in the area here has made this cache, and it lies close to one of their posts along a long walking path...
And we are heading back again
The name of the road, lake and cache
The sun was going down when we came back to the car, it was very pretty!
Nice huh?
Love,
ArtyBunneh
