Guess what folks?!  Charles and Aletta are off to Nepal on Friday morning – they have promised to take photo's of me along the way, close to temples, etc…  I am sure we will have a GREAT trip!!

BarryO visited various places in Nepal, as indicated by the names associated with the photo's.  He enjoyed his time in Nepal and saw some very interesting sites.

Mom, I'm home!!  Thank you, fam-united and GeoCrat for helping me see the world; mom loves the help-me-home.com tags you sent, GeoCrat.  Hey, who’s that poking at my envelop.



It’s my dear friend, Cheerio with Jeremy and Orkku Orava whom I’ve never met before.  Jeremy was born while I was vacationing with Fam-United and Orkku Orava has been here awhile already.  Then I hugged Cheerio and headed for a long winter’s nap.






Hey, who’s been sleeping in my bed? 



Oh, it’s the Christmas elf bear.  He jumped up when he saw me and headed back to the North Pole, saying he has a lot of work to do.  



And he left me some pocket money (from Miss Kate).



Then my two new friends, Jeremy and Orkku Orava tucked me in.

Thanksgiving U.S.A.

We got up early to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and make apple-cranberry sauce for today’s big dinner.

Here are the ingredients we used:



I helped with peeling the apples.



Then we put everything into the pan and added orange juice.



Here is the final product, cooling.  The recipe made more than this but we will bring just this bowl to the table.



We all gathered ‘round the TV to watch the Parade.

After almost three hours of announcements that Santa Claus will be here at the very end of the parade, the TV developed technical problems and we could not see Santa.



We all ran to the window to see what was the matter.  It was a guy from the cable TV company in a cherry picker; that’s him behind the scaffolding and netting the painters put up.  He turned the cable off for about five minutes.  Well, they say, “timing is everything”.  We were very disappointed but we are grateful that some people are available to fix flickering cable networks even on holidays.  Thank you, Mr. Cable Guy.



We know that just because you don’t see Santa on TV doesn’t mean he isn’t there.





Happy Holidays, everyone!!

We were so inspired by MamiTig's sewing projects and the thread about a hotel trail, we are making a bed and decorating a room!  We are doing it by hand and it still needs a lot of hemming.





It will be a gift for the Christmas Elf Bear who lives here 11 months of the year, he is working at the North Pole now.  Santa will drop him off here on Christmas Eve so that will be our deadline.  He he, in the meantime we will use it as a couch for discussions of our daily travels.



The other bed is too small for him.

Mom needed a break from studying so I put on my new red sweater and we headed for Embarcadero Center to see the office buildings and hotel decorations.

Here I am among the poinsettias.

The Embarcadero Center buildings are outlined in lights only during the holiday season from about Thanksgiving to just after New Year's.



This is a fountain in the Hyatt Regency Hotel lobby.  The water going over the edge at the base of it looks like glass; it's fun to put your hand in it to make sure it is really water.  The sign on the huge bear warns not to sit on him because he is fragile.  He's a little big to mail as a ToyVoyager, don't you think?



That red and green dome between the trees is the top of an elevator.



This is the Ferry Building Clock Tower.



It was 5:30 pm Pacific Standard Time, we had 45 minutes left on our bus transfers.     We got home before they expired!

Mom took Orkku Orava and me out for some errands and Christmas shopping.  We liked this wreath made from 1950s ornaments.  My grandmother had these kinds for decades until most of them broke.  So pretty.



We love this tree in a hotel lobby, so colorful and mesmerizing. 



There was a display of gingerbread houses under an amusement park with the Golden Gate Bridge.  I would love to live by a roller coaster.







We saw some adoptable kitties in the Macy’s windows.





A package arrived at home, so Orkku Orava got the scissors out and carefully opened it. 



I peeked into the envelop...



and out jumped DuDu!



Then DuDette was right behind him.




They started telling us all about their adventures and then ran over and we hugged and hugged.






Then it was time for a group hug.



We showed them the room we are decorating for our friend, The Christmas Elf Bear, who will be home Christmas Eve.  Don’t tell Mom, we started laughing until we couldn’t stop and jumped up and down on the soft bed.  It’s so much fun to see them back home.

Noodles has hatched!!  A new ToyVoyager has arrived!

Snowy owls are the official bird of Quebec Province, Canada.  I haven’t been there (yet).  Hint, hint.

Noodles was no sooner out of his egg when we took him to a 3-D movie, "Hugo".  There was no time for popcorn but we get another movie soon!  Yay!!  We had a nice dinner afterward to celebrate Mom’s friend’s birthday.

I missed the previews because Mom placed me backwards on the booster seat.  Maybe I will see them next time, even the ads were in 3D, I’m told.  Mom’s friend elbowed her when a message came on the screen about not messaging during the movie.  She put the camera away, helped me move to a forward position, and we all enjoyed the movie.

We heard Santa’s sleigh bells and went outside to greet our Elf Bear, home for Christmas.




“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!!”

I am so excited.  I am leaving for a winter vacation in Germany!  My ToyVoyager friends came out to say goodbye, see ya later.  After one last group hug, I addressed my travel envelope, put on my sweater, and jumped in.

Hi Mom,

Thanks for my flight "first class" to Germany. After more than two weeks I was well arrived. Here it is very cold, about -2°C to -6°C. Outside is even snow, but is more on that later.

Sweetheart- greeted me warmly. Look at the beautiful flowers! They're for me. There are welcome greetings. The flowers smell wonderful.

In the next days you hear from me again. Until then I think about you. No matter where I am, you're in my heart.
