We helped baking american cookies today. The cookies were very sweet, but delicious.

It was such a lovely weather today, so my host decided to show us TVs Uetze a little bit.
First station was the Junkernhof. It is the oldest building in Uetze. The Junkernhof was build 1635 from the family von Uttensen. Uetze was called "Utisson" (1022) and "Utessem" (1215) in the past. These names are deduced from the name von Uttensen. So the building had a great impact on the village.
So here is the Junkernhof and a stone next to the two-storey half-timber house.

The next station was the river Fuhse. The Fuhse is a stream of Lower Saxony, a left tributary of the Aller. The Fuhse originates on the west slope of the Oderwald, foothills of the Harz range between Bad Harzburg und Wolfenbüttel. The source spring lies in the municipality of Flöthe near Schladen. From there the Fuhse flows west of Salzgitter. It turns to the north and flows through Peine, Dollbergen and Uetze to Celle. In Celle (borough Neustadt) it joins the Aller. The most important tributary is the Erse, that joins the Fuhse at Uetze.
There were two ducks on the river. Unfortunately, we had no bread with us... Maybe next time?

Here you can see the "Neuer Garten". It is a part of the Junkernhof. In former days, it was a restaurant. Today, you can buy it.

The church is called "Johannes-der-Täufer-Kirche". It was built in 1867. The tower is 65 m high.
The predecessor was built in 1837, but it was destroyed in 1863 by a great fire. A stone reminds the people.

We went by bicyle by the way.

After our trip through Uetze, we relaxed in the garden.

Krtecek leaves us today. We are a little bit sad, but he will travel back to Paris to his mummy! Have fun in Paris.

Today, we visited Göttingen. My host studies behavioural biology there.

Finally, we arrived in Göttingen.
Göttingen (German pronunciation: [ˈɡœtɪŋən]) is a university town in Lower Saxony. It is the capital of the district of Göttingen. The Leine river runs through the town. In 2006 the population was 129,686.

The first picture shows a stature next to the station. It shows Miss Charlotte Müller, the oldest street trader of the world.

On this picture you can see the town's landmark: the "Gänseliesel". The Gänseliesel (English: Goose Girl, Goose Lizzy (Liesel as pet name of Elisabeth)) is a fountain which was erected in 1901 in front of the mediaeval town hall of Göttingen, Germany. Although rather small in size, the fountain is the most well-known landmark of the city. Today, it is an essential part of the graduation celebrations for every student who finishes a doctorate at the George August University Göttingen to climb the fountain and to kiss the statue of the goose girl. The Gänseliesel is the most kissed virgin of the world. It is forbitten now to kiss her, but tradition is tradition.

This is a very small guy. Unfortunately I forgot his name, but he was a physicist in Göttingen and became famous for his work.

We visited the old botanic garden. Göttingen has two botanic gardens, the old and the new one. But the old one is much more beautiful... however I think the flowers require more time. But we found a very beautiful yellow flower.
