Cracow, Poland - 13th June 2010
By: inidhil
Ok, let's do this!
My name is Cieszy and I'm a panda. I would like to show you the place I live in before I begin my travels.
I currently live in Cracow, Poland, with my two mentors. Today we went for a walk and took some pictures of the city. Cracow is really beautiful, and the weather was so nice that there were really many tourists, especially around the Old City and the Main Square. They walked, ate ice-cream, took a lot of photos and spent their money on souvenirs.
Cracow used to be the capital of Poland for many centuries. It is very old, it became a city in the 13th century! It's also the second biggest city in Poland. There are many monuments, beautiful buildings and churches, and also museums, galleries and all that. But there are also many modern places which are worth visiting.
If any of you ToyVoyagers ever want to see Cracow, my Mentors would be delighted to show you around!
The first thing we saw today was a bicycle parade. There were very many cyclists and they were all ringing their bells as they rode. This picture shows the very end of the parade, because we were suprised to see it! And the camera was deep in the bag...
This photo shows the Vistula River, which was really troublesome recently: there was a flood in Poland and many people were harmed. But the river is back to normal now. Bad river!
You can also see the Skałka Church. "Skałka" means "a little rock" in Polish, and it is the place where the Bishop of Krakow saint Stanislaus of Szczepanów was slain by order of Polish king Bolesław II the Bold in 1079. It's a story all Polish children learn in school!
Here you can see part of the Wawel Castle. The Wawel Castle used to be the place of residence of many many Polish kings and queens (unfortunately we don't have any more of them now...) It's really huge and pretty inside!
And the next picture is going to be really awesome
Here you can see the statue of the Wawel Dragon! And he breathes real fire! :O I have to admit I was a bit scared. But it was awesome!
The Dragon also has his own story, which is a very well-known Polish legend. The sculpture was sculpted by the Polish artist Bolesław Chromy.
That's Wawel again, a different tower this time.
This is Kanonicza Street, one of the prettiest and oldest streets in Cracow. There are museums and galleries and even a branch of the Jagiellonian University! And too many people to take a nice picture
There are also horse carriages in Cracow, if you want to take a ride around the Old Town!
This is the Peter and Paul Church, one of the prettiest churches in Cracow.
This is all that's left of the city hall But there's a working clock up in the tower.
And that's the most famous building in Cracow, St. Mary's Basilica. Isn't it beautiful? It also has a very old and beautiful altar inside.
This is a piano in the Main Square. It is a modern version of the piano which used to belong to the famous Polish composer Frederick Chopin. The year 2010 is Chopin's year in Poland!
This is St Florian's Gate, part of the old battlements. There is a sculpture of St Florian up there!
After the long walk we just had to go and eat something. Have you tasted the curry chicken sandwich at McDonald's yet? Yum!
And chocolate&lion McFlurry is definitely the best!
A quick pic to show you what Slowacki's Theatre looks like. It's a really posh theatre, one of the best renowned in Poland.
And off we go, home. 'Cause it's a looong way back...
Thanks for looking! I hope to show you some more before I start travelling on my own, but who knows.

Cracow, Poland - 25th June 2010
By: inidhil
I have to admit, I'm quite sad. I thought I would travel a lot, but it's been raining so hard in Cracow these last few weeks that none of the trips worked out. I'm just sitting here by the window and watching the rain.
Maybe it's time to go abroad?

Kissimmee, Florida, USA - 26th August 2010
By: Sheldon's Mommy
Hello! I am here in Florida now, and I am sad to say it rained when I first got here. My host is very nice, and I have been welcomed with a whole room of my own. Can you believe that? We went on a tour of the house, and Sheldon's Mommy has a swimming pool in her backyard [and] a lake behind her house! There are lots of palm trees here, and it is very beautiful.
Sheldon's Mommy says that in two days we are going to Sea World! I am very excited for it, because maybe I can ride one of their rides! We did take lots of pictures already, but my host's computer won't accept her memory card so we can't post any until her laptop is fixed.
She also says we may be able to go to the beach, and I really hope we do!

Sea World Orlando, Orlando, Florida, USA - 28th August 2010
By: Sheldon's Mommy
Today we went to Sea World! First, we had to get up really early because we wanted to be there first. I was up at 6:30, way too early for a panda.
They wouldn't open the gates for us, so we played in the car for a while.
We weren't allowed to go on Manta so to make up for being stuck in a locker, my host took us to a cool aquarium right next to the ride. This is the only picture that came out good though...
Then we found a photo booth and took pictures in it. Here I am kissing the penguin on the outside. She was very beautiful!
Here we found a very interesting sight. It was a VW Bug painted like a whale! My host taught me a new game with it called "Punch Buggy". When you see one of these cars, you punch everyone with you and say "Punch Buggy (color of car) No Punch Backs!". They are very crazy in Florida with this game, and from now on I have to be on the lookout for them so I am not the one being punched!
Next we went on Wild Arctic. That is a great motion ride, and it really shook up my tummy. The best part though, is when you get off and there is an arctic viewing area with polar bears and walruses. This picture was taken there, but it is really dark so you can't see much except me.
Did you know that Sea World has a little kid area with rides? I didn't, and when my host took us there it was really fun! Most of the rides we couldn't get pictures on, but we were able to get one right before the carousel. The colors are funny because we were under a tent the whole time!
While we were walking around, we saw some bushes shaped like Shamu! I just had to get a picture with them!
We saw two shows, the Pet's Ahoy and Clyde and Seymore Take Pirate Island. They were both really good!
Here I am with a map of where Sea World is.
This was a very nice penguin. He let me take a picture with him, and he taught me some Penguin. Let me show you: Skwaak Skweek squa k Squiiky Skwaky Saa. It means "I am a visitor at Sea World"
We stopped to rest at a fountain by the penguins, and I thought it was neat how you could see Manta from so far away. Look!
Here we are at the fountain! The water was sooo tempting because it was very hot outside, and I wanted to jump in. My host stopped me because she didn't want someone to steal me while I was in there! She had a really good point!
Journey to Atlantis was a really really fun ride. We went on it four or five times, and I loved to scream going down the drop. After we were all wet, we stayed in that area and got splashed by the cars soming down!
Well, that was my time at Sea World. My host says that she has something extra special planned for Bibi and I. I wonder what it is!

Walt Disney World, Florida, USA - 1st September 2010
By: Sheldon's Mommy
Today, we went to Walt Disney World! It was very amazing, and really really big. When we first got there, I got a cool "First Time Visitor" button. It was really heavy though, so I took it off after the picture.
We went to all of the parks, but my host's camera died at the beginning of the day and we didn't bring money at all... Here, though, I am at the end of Spaceship Earth by the screen that they put your ride pictures on. They didn't have Polish as an option to listen to on the ride, so we just did it in English.
This is one of my favorite Disney pictures, can you guess what it is? The Cinderella Castle, of course! We got to see it quite a few times, and I love it!
Here I am on the Snow White ride. The background is very beautiful, and it is a great ride.
Dumbo is a ride that every person who goes to Disney must go on! I think it was my favorite ride there. We made it go up and down a lot to scare my host because she hates high things.
Mickey was very fun to talk to. I told him all about being a toyvoyager, and he sounded very jealous. We offered to find someone who could help him be one, but he said he would rather find a nice child to play with.
It has been a very long, and very fun day. I can't wait to see what wlse we will do here!
