Hi!

It is my last day in Lithuania. Tommorow I'll travel to China and I'm so happy about it  :D
My mentor and I got outside as she saw some unnatural growth flowers (she planted them in 2009 spring but they grow just now...strange flowers). She hasn't seen anywhere natural growth flowers, which are much more beautiful, so she took some photos with me and these unnatural growth flowers.

Suddenly our best friend, Katyte, came and gave to me a sweet kiss. She misses Drovius and Apelsinas so much! Yesterday I even saw her crying with other toys, which are too big to travel (in my opinion they are totally huge!).

I wish all of you the best spring ever and I give you these cute Lithuanian flowers as a gift.

Wish me luck in a long travel to China (you just can't imagine how excited I am about that ).
Hugs

Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong, China - 13th April 2010

By: vivyanhui

After sleeping for a night, I start my travel here in Hong Kong today.

It's foggy day, I can see the thick fog on the sea surface.
I travelled the Star Ferry to cross the Victoria Harbour,
from Kowloon Peninsula to Hong Kong Island.

The crews are in blue navy uniforms abd each ferry has their own name.
The one I took this morning is Solar Star. B)

Central, Hong Kong, China - 19th April 2010

By: vivyanhui

There are many temples here, today I saw one.
It's on the slope and is a very small one.
You can see that there are usually a pair rock lion statues in front of the entrance,
one in the left and one in the right. They are believed to keep the ghosts/ evils away.  :stare:
I even saw a tile picture on the wall~
Up on the roof, there's some stuffs with funny shapes, they are just like a hat!
But then I know these are for the gods, they have a strong but nice smell. :D

Mid-Levels, Central, Hong Kong, China - 23rd April 2010

By: vivyanhui

Since Hong Kong Islandis having a hilly landscape, there are slopes everywhere,
therefore a Mid-Levels Escalator was built for citizens.

By using it, I can go up very easily and fast!  :D
On my way, I passed through the SOHO area and see a lot of restaurants of different countries.
They have a nice interior settings and I even saw a whale decorated outside the restaurant! Cool~  B)

Then I saw some fishbone hanging on the roof top of some buildings,  :stare:
I just wondering whyit is so, and then vi told me that they are not fishbone~
They are actually some television channel  receiver of some old television,
can be seen on the roof top of many old buildings.

Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, China - 26th April 2010

By: vivyanhui

The underground railway system is well developed here.
The stations are always clean and tidy.
The one today is East Tsim Sha Tsui Station,
it's a station where the East Rail meets the West Rail, and Kwun Tong Line as well,
so you can imagine how large this station is!
From the signage, I find that there are many exits here, they are named in alphabets, started from Exit A, and up to Exit P!!! wow~  :cyclops:

Right outside the gate, there are usually customer service counter,
add value machine (for octopus users) and ticket selling machine.
On the machine, you can find the whole system map on the screen,
and both coins and money note can be used.

Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China - 27th April 2010

By: vivyanhui

There are 3 tunnels under the Victoria Harbour,
for the cars going to and forth between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.
This is the Cross Harbour Tunnel in Hung Hom, the busiest tunnel, :)
which locates right at the middle of the harbour.

Wan Chai, Hong Kong, China - 29th April 2010

By: vivyanhui

I headed to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at Wanchai today.
I saw some nice exhibits there.
I also took a photo with the tallest (right, ICC at Kowloon) and the 2nd tallest (left, IFC at Central) buildings.

At night, I had my dinner in a chinese restaurant.
There's a window that shows how the chefs work inside the kitchen.
Some foods are hanging up, from the left:
squid, red sausages, goose, chicken, the last  is roasted pork.

There's a foot massage store nearby, people believe that this can help to keep healthy,
because different parts refer to different body parts. :o

Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, China - 2nd May 2010

By: vivyanhui

This is the whole view of Star Ferry Pier at Tsim Sha Tsui,
I always travel the ferry with vi,
see, there's a ferry hust leaving~

Behind me is the Clock Tower, it's a heritage,
being part of the former train terminal, it was kept in the original,
while the train terminal had been move to Hung Hom.

And can you see the 5 flying flags?
It's a famous landmark for waiting during the time that mobile is not popular. But people still love to wait for their friends there~  :)

Lantau Island, Hong kong, China - 4th May 2010

By: vivyanhui

There are many highways and bridges here,
so there's very often that the bridges cross the hill top!

I was in the Hong Kong International Airport today,
it's very very very big and lots of people and tourists,
crowded and busy!

There are even terminal 1 and terminal 2, can you imagine how big it is? :o

City Hall Public Library, Central, Hong Kong, China - 6th May 2010

By: vivyanhui

Guess what did I do today?
I have been to my favourite place - library, and be a chubby book worm~  ;)

There are 18 districts in Hong Kong in total, every district has their own library,
the one I visited is in Cenrtal, the City Hall Public Library.

It's on the 2nd -6th, 8th - 11th floor of the building,
divided into children library, adult library, reference library, audio, newspaper and so on.

People usually go to the 3rd floor, where adult library locates.
There's a corner displaying the new books,
and computer searching system for readers to find what they want.

I find a machine very interesting,
vi told me that it's the self-serve borrowing machine,
a slip with be printed and given to you after you have "beep" your borrow card and all the books,
on the slip there are borrowing date as well as returning date.

However, vi was in a hurry that she gave all the books to the borrowing counter...  :(
she promised to let me try the machine next time...
I will remember this and remind her next time! :cyclops:

When we back home, the outer wall of the library had changed it's colour~

Central, Hong Kong, China - 9th May 2010

By: vivyanhui

Randomly I saw some large artpieces....
the are some wooden sculpture....
actually all are forest animals in an abstract way!

I was excited and took photos with my friends snakey & Ferda at once.
There are deer, snail, bear and... rabbit!

There's a small chair inside the snail, so I just went inside and take a little rest.
