Hello there!

I'm Charlie B., the nice little mouse, equipped with a backpack for my adventures! Nice to meet you all!

I came to life on March 19, and I'm ready to travel the world!

I live in Portugal, a beautiful country! My home is in a quiet little city called Beja, in the south interior of Portugal, in a region called Alentejo. Alentejo is a very beautiful region, as you can see through the postcards!





I have many friends, since I get along with everyone. And no, not just the quiet ones! As you can see, I also have some pretty rebel friends 




By the way, my mum collects postcards! She is very addicted to something called Postcrossing... I like it very much too, because I get to see beautiful sceneries and other countries views! I'm a very curious mouse 

But I wish I could visit those places in person, to experience other countries lifestyles...




So my mum decided it was time for me to travel and meet the world and all it's wonders!! I want to see everything, and experience new things, and of course meet new friends, like my teddy guard friend from London!



And of course, I want to meet YOU!  I'm now looking for hosts, so I can start my journey through the world!

I'm a bit tired now...

Hello Mum,

I arrived in Germany at RikeH's home today. Dicker Kumpel gave me a warm welcome.



Then he introduced me to the other TVs here. The small one on the left side is Sam Squirrel, he came today, too.



We talked a lot - then I went outside in the garden, I wanted to stretch my legs after the time in the envelope. I found beautiful flowers.





There are funny guys living in the garden.





I think, I will love it here Mum!

Hello Mum,

we went to Hamburg today. It is the second biggest city in Germany – and RikeH works there.

Here we were in the train to Hamburg.



I helped RikeH to write some postcards – then I looked out of the window.





We went to the Lake Alster. A very nice place in the centre of Hamburg.





Next to it is the Town Hall – a beautiful building.





Well, this was a wonderful trip.

At the end of the week is Easter – we will celebrate it – it seems to be fun!

Hello Mum,

Today is Easter. A little Easter Bunny came to us. He told us that there are some nice things for us hidden in the room.



Of course I started to search. First I looked under the arm chair, but I didn't see anything.



I walked around – and look what I saw...





A great success. Minutes later I jumped onto the table. There were beautiful flowers.



But it was no time to admire the flowers. I had to search Eggs – and look – behind the flowers were more sweets.



I went back to my place – I found so many sweets – wonderful.



In the afternoon we had some delicious cakes – they were really big, but I ate one!

Hello Mum,

we are full of Easter Chocolate! So we decided to make a walk in the morning. Here you see us having a rest.



There were nice big trees here.



I sat in the sun – although you cannot see it on the photo - and relaxed.



We found a nice small river – lovely in both directions.





In the afternoon we visited RikeH's Mum – and met the Easter Bunny. He was so nice!



I found other funny bunnys.





There was a hen and her children.





We loved it there.

Two of our friends will go to their next hosts.

We gave them a big hug.



I am happy that I can stay here and have some more nice adventures.

we made a short trip to a little town near to Sülfeld. It is called Ahrensburg.

There was a beautiful castle.



These flowers are in the meadow in front of the castle.



Near to the Castle was a nice little church.

Hello Mum,

Spring is in Germany now – we are so happy. Look at this wonderful yellow plant!



We made a walk along a nice little river.



Sülfeld has a wonderful old church.



On the other side of the street is the pharmacie.



On the way back we found another beautiful shrub. I loved the color!

today we wanted to play Pool.



Dicker Kumpel showed us, how it works.


Then it was me to play.



It was great fun : I won 10:09.



I tried to call you and tell you about my success. But I didn't know your number.



So I looked around – there must have been a horse here – years ago....

Hi Mum,

we made a trip to a small city today. RikeH went to school there – years ago.

First we went over a bridge – to go into the town center.



This ist the townhall with a wonderful fountain.



This view is wonderful.



There are nice old houses here.



We saw the river again.



It was a nice day!

Hi Mum,

RikeH told me that I will go to my next host soon. So we wanted to celebrate my last evening.

We had a delicious salad.



Here you see us all together.



Then we had a barbecue.



It was really delicious – I ate a lot!



Then it was time to say good-bye. I talked a lot with Dicker Kumpel – he was
such a great host.



After it the others gave me a big hug. I will miss them, but maybe I will
meet some of them in other countries.

Hi Mum.

Sorry for reporting that late, but Sonja and I were quite busy lately.

On 8th of May I arrived safely in Leverkusen, but had to stay most of the day in my package because Sonja and her husband Calis were out of house.

On the photo you can see Sonja's husband Calis, holding me.

Later I watched Calis cooking. His favourite food is fish. He told me a lot of things of when he was working at the sea.

today there was an election for the state parliament in Northrhine-Westphalia. As Leverkusen is a city in this state, here also was the election. Sonja was one of those who helped with conducting the vote, so early in the morning we went to where Sonja should help. It was a primary school close to her place. The election was between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Sonja took over the "late shift", from 1 p.m. till 6 p.m. and also later had to help with counting all the votes. During the time she was free, Sonja and I went to Cologne. Sonja showed me the big Cathedral of Cologne and I was very impressed. Such a big church. Sonja told me, that the Cathedral is a world heritage site and I even got more impressed.

Sonja also showed me a bit of the main station of Cologne, like the main hall, the letterbox where she posts her mail when she is in Cologne, some shops and so on. I especially was fascinated by a model railway, where you could let some trains ride for small money.

Today, Sonja met one of her friends of Cologne University of Applied Sciences, where she studies business law. We had a nice Caramel Latte Macciato at McCafe and then went around in the city a bit. Then we heard somebody sing some songs and we sat down close to a Globetrotter store to listen to that guy for a while.
