Neuhausen, Switzerland - 8th July 2010

Near Schaffausen there are the famous Rhine Falls! They are the largest plain waterfalls in Europe. Total height: 23m, total width: 150m. It's a very, very touristic place but still pleasant.

Schwyz, Switzerland - 16th July 2010
By: swiss_sunshine
We went also to central Switzerland in the little town of Schwytz that gave its name to the country. Schwytz is in the mountain and there's not many monuments or interesting things to see apart from the mountain... Oh and there's a chuch too!

Schwyz, Switzerland - 16th July 2010
By: swiss_sunshine
After Schwytz we took the train to Küssnacht am Rigi where we took the boat for 1 hour direction: Luzern! As it was getting late we did not visit Luzern. We only saw the famous Kappelbrücke, an old wooden bridge. In Luzern there are soo many tourists! Incredible. But I have to admit that it's a nice city with the lake and the mountains.

Lausanne, Switzerland - 23rd July 2010
By: swiss_sunshine
After these trips to the german-speaking part of Switzerland I thought it was time for me to learn a bit French, Sunshine's language. That's why we went to Lausanne. Lausanne is near the lake of Geneva. It's the second biggest city of the french-speaking part of Switzerland after Geneva. We went to the Hermitage Foundation to see an exhibition of the famous american painter Edward Hopper.

In Lausanne we also saw the Palais of Rumine, which contains the museum of Art, of zoology, of archeology and of zoology as well as a library. Then we went to the cathedral from where we had a view on the lake.

Interlaken, Switzerland - 27th September 2010
By: swiss_sunshine
Hello!
Well now I'm on my way to the next host! But before that, I have to finish to tell you about my journey in Switzerland!!
Okay, in August, we went to Interlaken! It's a touristic place because it's the starting point to famous mountains or village like the Jungfraujoch or Lauterbrunnen. Sunshine and I just took a walk in Interlaken. It wasn't that nice because even if we were in Summer, it was quite cold and cloudy But still, I saw mountains, the Aar river and souvenir shops!!

By: swiss_sunshine
Before leaving, I couldn't miss Fribourg, Sunshine's hometown! It's a small town of 35,000 inhabitants near Bern, known for hum... nothing particular
But there are still some nice things to visit!! Like the medieval cathedral dedicated to St. Nicholas, the architecture of the city hall or the impressiv old part of the city!

Here I met other toyvoyagers, they are Stompy and King Tut,
they are just like me, they arrived here just a few weeks,
I am very glad that we can explore the place together~
I am in the Cross-Harbour Tunnel right now~
It's exciting to have a seat in the fisrt row of a double deck bus.
We got on the bus in Kowloon,
and after crossing the harbour, we are in Hong Kong Island.
There are many ways to cross the harbour, I will show you more later!

MTR Station, Hong Kong - 3rd October 2010
By: vivyanhui
Other than taking the bus, we can also cross the harbour by take the MTR.
MTR is "Mass Transit Railway" in short, it's an underground train,
just the same as tube/subway/bahn.
Every stations have their own colour, I am now in Causeway Bay,
maybe the busiest station in Hong Kong Island. There are many exits here.
It's deep down there, I have to take a few escalator to reach the train platform. I am travelling the blue line to red line.
I found a nice chinese calligraphy of the station name at the waiting platform.

After a few stations, I have to transit to another line.
I am going to Mongkok, you can see that it's one of the stations of another line.
From the map, you can see the whole station map of MTR.
I am now at Admiralty, waiting for the train to Mongkok.
After getting on the train at this station,
I will be under the harbour again!

MTR Station, Hong Kong - 3rd October 2010
By: vivyanhui
As different stations have different colours,
some of them may have two colours,
it's a happy thing to take photos with different stations,
then my album will be very colourful~~
It's neat and tidy in the cabin, as the train is fast,
I have to hold the rail.
We even found a perfect seat for ourselves~

On the ferry, Hong Kong - 6th October 2010
By: vivyanhui
Other than under the ground, there's still a very different way to cross the Harbour!
It's by taking the Star Ferry~ Cool~
Taking ferry can enjoy the breeze and the night view.
I am a naughty mouse and curious to everything,
I just can't keep myself sitting there, so I wandered around to explore!
I was on the lower deck of the ferry, there are also an upper deck for passengers,
but the lowest deck down there is for crew only.
