Aach, Germany - 16th April 2010

By: Sissi

It was a lousy day yesterday . It was raining all day and so we stayed inside.

Look, what we did:
We watched a DVD
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4010/4525409882_cdd4601192_m.jpg
The DVD was a German tv serial called "Florida Lady". Sissi told us she watched it when she was a child.
It's about a guy called Tom who wanted to marry but his girlfriend kicked him. So he decided to stay with his friend Roy and his daughter Penny on their housboat (the rent housboats for holiday guests). He starts working there and also finds a new love.

and we played with the trainset:

I also read a nice book:

Bye bye  :cyclops:

Radolfzell, Germany - 25th April 2010

By: Sissi

Guten Tag vom Bodensee!!

Today was such a sunny and warm day and so Sissi decided to visit Radolfzell with us.
Radolfzell  is a town at the western end of Lake Constance approximately 18 km northwest of Konstanz. It is the third largest town, after Constance and Singen, in the district of Konstanz, in Baden-Württemberg.

Radolfzell is a well known health care city (Mettnau) and an important railroad junction. In 1990 Radolfzell was named the Federal Environment Capital City of Germany.

First of all we had to drive there by car:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4050/4551346488_9c28f1b7a6_m.jpg.

I was looking a bit out of the window and enjoyed the landscape:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/4551353802_41d9ff80da_m.jpg
and then I was even allowed to drive myself!!!  :cyclops:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4550731437_0f7516578b_m.jpg.

I got hungry then and ate some selfmade sweets:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4070/4551392214_598df00bb0_m.jpg
and I tried the sunglasses.  B). Okay... they were a bit too big for me...
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/4551376628_df5a21b81d_m.jpg

We had to drive 20 minutes. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4025/4550753335_c858ba6813_m.jpg.

Then we finally arrived and walked to the beautiful Stadtgarten (garden). It was sooo nice because all the flowers were blooming. We made several photos of course!

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4002/4550775569_a04f784b8b_m.jpg

There was also a duck-couple in the garden.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4551408236_243ddac3e5_m.jpg.
Sissi's son Julian called them "gack-gack"!

Then we arrived at the lake.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4551421484_a750a817b7_m.jpg
There was not so many water in it. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4027/4550786785_98a3e62a1c_m.jpg

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/4551424118_39d2593ec8_m.jpg
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4551444320_af1e455c65_m.jpg

At the lake there was also a man who makes art out of stones.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4061/4551515618_31cfc26808_m.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4041/4551512902_503734b1b6_m.jpg. They're not fixed but balanced!  Spectacular, isn't it?

When we went back to the car we crossed a railway bridge. But unfortunatelly there was not train at the moment.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4005/4550810685_ddc11334a6_m.jpg.

It was a very nice day and I enjoyed visiting more places here.

Good bye!

Nenzingen, Germany - 5th June 2010

By: Sissi

Howdy-ho

Today was such a hot day!!! But we went outside anyway. We drove to a western meeting in Nenzingen. A friend of Sissi’s family is in a western shooting-club and once a year they make a big meeting. A lot of people are coming and many are camping and live there like people in the western period (18th / 19th century in south-western of the USA). Some are also disguised as Natice Americans.

We spent some hours there and it was really interesting!

Look: it's me in front of the sign.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4003/4671592321_c5a73983dd_m.jpg

And here I am at the entrance:

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4672220678_9498e446ea_m.jpg

As said a lot of people are camping here and they show how people lived in former times.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4014/4672224924_23d1007f51_m.jpg

Just a view of the tents.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/4671622207_2da5c16d60_m.jpg

When we came home we had some mail:

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1278/4671632049_7cc8bf789e_m.jpg and of course we were all very excited because Sissi told us we're expecting a new guest!!!

It was Klaus who came to us!

Langeeog, Germany - 5th July 2010

By: Sissi

Hello - I'm back from the family vacations  :D

We spent some days at the island Langeoog. Langeoog is one of the seven inhabited East Frisian Islands at the edge of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea in the southern North Sea, located between Baltrum Island (west), and Spiekeroog  (east). The name Langeoog means Long Island in the Low German dialect.

We drove 8 hours by car to Bensersiel in northern Germany. We spent the time in a suitcase and slept most of the time. There we went over to Langeoog by a ferry and finally we took the train to arrive at the village.

Sissi and her family rented a small appartment. Here are some photos.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4142/4744823317_e4c8555b06_m.jpg

The first days the weather was not so good so we had fun reading all these books.

But fortunatelly on Monday the sun came out and we could go to the beach.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4082/4744840509_2622eda318_m.jpg

Look - we found a couple of mussels:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4118/4745469414_7c3d69a08d_m.jpg

The week went by so soon. Every morning and avery evening we spent at the beach.
We also rented such a beach chair they have there:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4143/4744839247_fe2ba4cd50_m.jpg

and Sissi bought some stuff to play in the sand.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4080/4744838547_dba76d90cb_m.jpg.

Julian had t sleep from 12 to 2 every afternoon so we hang around at the balcony:

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4116/4745472234_dfd24957f3_m.jpg

One day we also went to the Water-tower - the landmark of Langeoog.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4134/4744850907_d54539d88d_m.jpg

From there we could look down to the dunes and the north sea.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4100/4744859603_ba73be34a9_m.jpg

One day at the beach we also found strange traces. Do you know whom they belong to???
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4135/4744848931_a227d46a94_m.jpg

They belong to a duck:

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4143/4745485666_d95078abc5_m.jpg

I really had lots of fun here at the other end of Germany.

Aach, Germany - 27th July 2010

By: Sissi

Hello  :D

Today we made a walk / trip around Aach.
We took the car  ;)

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4110/4833507311_bc06344689_m.jpg.

We tried to find a street without any big cars because Julian (almost 2 yrs old) went with us. (In fact it's his car we used ;) )
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4130/4834090262_0da0025f03_m.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4148/4834081350_e5fcc865e9_m.jpg

We found a street where no cars and no motorcycles are allowed. You can see the sign here:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4109/4834096468_6c3b30b5b6_m.jpg. Though actually there was a motorcycle driving...

We walked a bit around and took the car in between. Here are some impressions:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4126/4834131494_a7d0951a07_m.jpg
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4090/4834127612_be28348375_m.jpg

Look what we found: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4106/4833503867_f81d4ae9d6_m.jpghttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4085/4833498689_dd12c2630f_m.jpg . Sissi told us that this footprint could belong to a missing tv she once had. So we cried "PENNY-BOOOOOO", but no answer  :(

Then we went to a playground and hang around there a bit before going home.
