Spijkenisse, Netherlands - 9th September 2011

Hello!
I'm still doing fine!
I ate something really delicious.... Pannenkoeken!
Pannenkoeken are not only a Dutch thing, but the Dutchies eat them the most
You can eat them with everything you like, we ate them with lots of sugar. Jummie!
At first you put what you like on it:
And then you roll it and then you can eat it like that or you can cut it in pieces:

Emmen, Netherlands - 28th September 2011
By: Paulette088
In Emmen, we ate in a real nice Italian restaurant. We had a great seat outside.
Nook and I played hide and seak with Paulette's napkin. It was a little bit dark outside, so the pictures are a bit dark too
We had a great meal, with fish, meat, olives and lots and lots of other delicoius food!

All around Emmen, Netherlands - 30th September 2011
By: Paulette088
Today we made a trip with our bikes. It wasn't very hot, but luckily it didn't rain during our trip. We had a map that was made by other people, so we followed the route.
On our way we changed our route a little bit. There are lots of maps like this one in Holland:
It shows differents points in the neighbour. When you bike from point to point, you can follow the signs with the number of the point you want to go to. You can make a whole chain of points to create a route. At every point you can count how many km it is to the next point, so you can bike as far as you want!
Here I am, guarding Paulettes bike:

Rockanje, Netherlands - 15th October 2011
By: Paulette088
Today was a very beautiful day, so we decided to go to the beach. It was very sunny!
Here I sit on a dune:
We walked about an hour and after our walk we got a drink.
When we left the beach we saw that the car was really dirty, so we searched for a carwash.
I wanted to stay in the car, but there was a big sign that warned it isn't aloud to stay in the car when it's in the carwash
So we watched it from the side:
This week I'm going to travel further. I'm really excited to meet my new host! I'll keep you all posted when I leave!

Well, this is my last update from the Netherlands, I'm travelling to my new host!
I said goodbye to Paulette, she wished me a good and safe trip and right now I'm in a dark envelope.
I'm really curious about my trip and my new host! I hope we will have a great time!

Sülfeld, Germany - 26th October 2011
By: RikeH
Hello Mum,
Because there were not so many foreign hosts here, I decided to visit a relative and I am here with RikeH now. Dicker Kumpel gave me a warm welcome.
Then he introduced me to the other here – but the nice lady-bunny left today.
Hopefully I will find a nice host soon - I would love to visit Germany or Austria next.
Bye
Tobbi

Krampus is a mythical creature recognized in alpine countries. According to legend, Krampus accompanies St. Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and punishing bad children, in contrast to St. Nicholas, who gives gifts to good children.
In the Alpine regions, Krampus is represented by a demon-like creature. Traditionally, young men dress up as the Krampus in Austria and southern Bavaria, especially the market town Berchtesgaden, during the first two weeks of December, particularly on the evening of 5 December, and roam the streets frightening children with rusty chains and bells.
In the aftermath of the Austrian Civil War the Krampus tradition was a target of the Dollfuss regime.
