Hi Mummy,
as I told you I stayed another two days with Katja's sister. She showed me around the garden first.

Do you also know rhubarb?

She also showed me around the district Lennep. It is a very old district with lots of pretty old houses.

Remscheid, Germany - 27th August 2009

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
Katja took me with her when she had to go to the post office during her work time. The weather was fantastic, so she could not resist to take me with her.

We walked along the pedestrian area, where you can find those large forceps as a symbol for the tool producing industry here.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2432/3862650278_19ecf82eb0.jpg

I have  been here at the entrance of the shopping mall before, but today the weather is much better.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3579/3861868093_d53f0a0da0.jpg

We are now coming to the central bus station.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3500/3862650704_c011bb925b.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2479/3861867953_7980c97303.jpg

The white building in the background is the publishing house of the local newspaper Remscheider General-Anzeiger (RGA).

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2484/3862650796_64d964cf8e.jpg

This is the new entrance of the theatre.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3487/3862650164_d8d9301b35.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3484/3861868761_fa9a6c68cf.jpg

Here you can see the city hall with the market place in front of it. The farmer's market is held on Wednesday and Saturday.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2587/3862650394_4d13feca3d.jpg

The tower of the city hall is 48 m high.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2558/3862649822_0e730a68ec.jpg

The original city hall was nearly destroyed in World War II, than rebuilt afterwards in a more modern style.

When we went home at lunch time Katja showed me the water tower. From here the inhabitants of the city centre are supplied with drinking water, which is pumped from a dam in a valley to the highest point of the city area.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3473/3862650518_4c59e3a8d1.jpg

Only two more minutes to walk and we reach our home.

Remscheid, Germany - 28th August 2009

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,

we took a walk today in one of the oldest districts of Remscheid. It is called "Hasten" and is situated in the North of the municipal, leading into a valley. First I'll show you my current home. I am living in the attic storey. The house was built in 1904.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2595/3867949788_9f3ddb9c60.jpg

In a nearby park Katja showed us a pillar which is dedicated to the first town twinning of Remscheid and Quimper in France. The pillar is also showing the coat of arms of Remscheid.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3433/3865274800_4518702479.jpg

We played a bit on a small playground in the park.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3423/3864497233_9c50b2d3cd.jpg

Katja told us that we would walk through the municipal park to get to Hasten. Here we are on our way to the municipal park.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3548/3864492951_1201fb2478.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3434/3864492581_e99385b5b1.jpg

From here we had a first look to Hasten, in the valley.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3518/3865276072_5ddee6246c.jpg

The pink coloured house is an old factory building, you can find many of them between the tenements.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3432/3864492459_b61c7d47b1.jpg

We reached Hasten than, a district surrounded by woodland.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3454/3864491999_d72e8355aa.jpg

We saw a lot of old houses and really narrow streets here.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3428/3865275966_3e2c9e4f10.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2430/3865276448_1331761e8f.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2500/3864491527_b86460a6d7.jpg

We saw a beautiful Patrician villa here, built in 1798. A museum which is showing life, furniture and so on of the last centuries is situated nowadays here, also  the German Tool Museum.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3507/3865274520_f23e8f188e.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3501/3865276350_2a1362d268.jpg

The area behind the villa belongs to the Tool Museum.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2455/3865276552_7012e4074c.jpg

We decided to walk home than, this time uphill for some time :D

Duesseldorf, Germany - 2nd September 2009

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
we visited Düsseldorf today.

Düsseldorf is the capital city of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is situated on the River Rhine, and is renowned for its many events and also for its fashion and trade fairs. We went here by train and started our trip at MediaHafen (Media Harbour), a former harbour which is now a modern business quarter.

First we saw an interesting building called "Stadttor" (city gate).

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2460/3881663743_085d8f2842.jpg

This is the old harbour, now a modern business quarter with a lot of interesting buildings.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2500/3882461352_9b6e82792f.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2479/3881663979_47910ab288.jpg

We walked towards River Rhine than.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3445/3881664117_57df499dc2.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2668/3882461726_cfe1f7a911.jpg

There is a bridge overspanning the inner harbour. From here you have a great overview.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2450/3881664467_5ff6a5dde9.jpg

From here you can also take a good photo of Rheinturm (Rhine Tower), a telecommunication tower with a rotating restaurant behind the windows.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3497/3882462002_e00741f6b3.jpg

Katja showed us the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia, the parliament.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3418/3882462112_a1f4e37999.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3535/3882462234_83ca17893c.jpg

Finally we walked towards the old town of Düsseldorf, along River Rhine Promenade.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2485/3881664803_ac42aa4ac7.jpg

Close to the city the promenade is full of bars.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2592/3881664891_eb48c7bd0c.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2650/3882462500_c8009733d3.jpg

We saw that one of the excursion boats was just coming home. It should start its tour about 10 minutes later, so we decided to make a boat trip. The trip was supposed to last for about 90 minutes.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2493/3881665105_09e9b08564.jpg

From here I had a look at the Altstadt (old town). The Düsseldorfer Altstadt is known as the longest bar in the world (»längste Theke der Welt«), because the small old town has more than 300 bars and discotheques.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2490/3882462720_c11fe7432b.jpg

We were off than, downstream first.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2676/3881665299_cef38755b9.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2605/3882462884_091ca35cb2.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2474/3881665481_1b5c89fc4a.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2431/3882463082_46b2652d44.jpg

In the meantime the boat made a turn and was going upstream.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3436/3882463158_931a1de519.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3495/3882464298_41852eb9e7.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2459/3882464206_4f0cbc8b51.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2616/3882464402_3395b33394.jpg

We went into town than.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2428/3881667009_4755ca04bb.jpg

This is part of the Altstadt with its many bars and pubs.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2615/3882464632_d6fc0e248a.jpg

We enjoyed an Altbier here, a special beer which is only brewn in this region.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3499/3881677411_39efcd66e2.jpg

Next I will show you the old city hall, situated in the old town.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2466/3881667265_ab4993ff0b.jpg

We bought some postcards and a funny fridge magnet.

This is the famous Königsallee, a shopping street where you can find exclusive clothings, jewelry, shoes and other accessoires.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3512/3881663637_74f1eac733.jpg

We went home by train than. It was almost 8:00 p.m. the shops were closing. I was very tired, but  not too tired to write a postcard to you.

Solingen, Germany - 6th September 2009

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,

we took a long walk today in the neighbour city Solingen. We started our tour in Solingen-Unterburg, which is one of the oldest districts of Solingen. You can find many old houses here.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3511/3895965353_de5988d06d.jpg

I went with Katja, Erika and Hugo today. I met a friend of Hugo here :D

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2532/3896742290_a82cdcbb82.jpg

We walked along River Wupper the whole time.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2601/3896742396_b2c149a0a2.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3443/3895966247_5dba196103.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3526/3895964173_821c9f692d.jpg

Next to our path you can find steep rocks.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2572/3896744036_5e98584bbd.jpg

We crossed River Wupper here.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2474/3895964019_38ab6e7e23.jpg

This thing was originally used at the nearby Sengbach-Talsperre (Sengbach-dam).

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2464/3896750682_42579eaa63.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2551/3895972483_f232bd5bc3.jpg

This is a historic building, Balkhauser Kotten. A museum is situated here.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3480/3895967669_c79c6e64a8.jpg

More rocks along our path ...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2667/3896744186_8876dbcced.jpg

We reached a hamlet called Balkhausen. It is a rather rural district.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2590/3896745070_446b4bbaf9.jpg

They have nice old timber-framed houses here.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597/3895964563_8ce6e36fe5.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2504/3896745394_b93ea8a9ba.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2480/3895964311_b4d47737d5.jpg

We walked through another forrest.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2526/3895965815_b1df8501c3.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2672/3895966083_4e13a966ca.jpg

We met River Wupper again.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2503/3896745182_99567840c4.jpg

After hours of walking (about 14 km) we reached Wipperkotten, a historical grindery which is still in use. It was open for visitors today. Visitors were allowed to take a knife with them, for the  grinder to grind it. Of course Katja brought her favourite knif with her.

Wipperkotten was built as a grindery in the early 1600's and it is the last existing twin building of formerly 26 grinding sheds at the lower river Wupper. Two undershot waterwheels are spinning between the historical buildings. This building complex is under protection of historical monuments since 1955.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3517/3896746146_fbcb6cc1bd.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2644/3895964915_2b5d7baf81.jpg

Of course we had a look inside the buildings.

This is the axis of one of the waterwheels.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3430/3895966375_389e8f5360.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2504/3896744950_d8eec2def8.jpg

This is one of the historical workplaces.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2596/3896752284_f1a3a3e01e.jpg

This is today's workplace of the grinder.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2468/3895974207_5958408535.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2655/3895964771_f9afbc50b0.jpg

The grinder is preparing the belt grinder machine ...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2492/3896752622_4e46a60dbc.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2650/3895967947_718f5ddf73.jpg

We were allowed to sit on the grind machine to have a good overview at the grinder's work.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2651/3896752716_2b06b1ce5c.jpg

Our knife is as sharp as a razor blade now -  thanks to the grinder :D

What is he going to do with the hammer?

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2565/3895974651_af878b0130.jpg

Whow! It looks like fireworks!

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2442/3896753048_93190d292b.jpg

It was time to start back for home than. We saw canoes here, can you see them at the opposite riverbank?

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2453/3896753804_dea1c2b26d.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2426/3897053006_3d95f1848c.jpg

We had to walk uphill than to reach the city centre. Here I also saw some pretty old houses.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2676/3895965129_5a6d6d960a.jpg

What a wonderful front door!

We went home by bus and train than.

Miami Beach, Florida, United States - 15th September 2009

By: tarepanda

Hey Mommy I am in Florida now!!  It's nice weather here and I get to meet some new friends, Mocha and Ebba.  They ask me where I want to go.  I tell them my mission is to visit beaches so they take me to Miami Beach, which they say are very famous.

Here we are, on the causeway towards the beach.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263505.jpg

We pass by the Miami port.  This is a cruise ship to the Carribeans, called Carnival Liberty.  It has 110,000 tonnes, is 932 ft long and carries 2,974 passengers.  A huge ship indeed!!  I hope one day I can get to travel in one.  My host tells me they sometimes go to Europe too.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263508.jpg

We are now on the street of Miami Beach.  The scenery looks very different from Hong Kong and Europe indeed, with a lot of palm trees and very sunny weather.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263514.jpg

We park our car and begin to walk along the broadwalk.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153392-1.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153393-1.jpg

We pass by a marina, where people park their yachts when they are not using them.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153395-1.jpg

All the yachts are so beautiful.  I am so happy I can smell the sea in the air!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153397-1.jpg

Okay here we are, at South Point Park, which is at the southern point of Miami Beach.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153401-1.jpg

Do you see the island with houses behind me?  It's called Fisher Island, and according to U.S. census is the richest place in the country.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153410-1.jpg

Okay this picture is proof that I am in the U.S.!  This is a restuarant.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263518.jpg

It's a long walk!  I still can't see the beach yet.  We rest on the grass a bit.  I wish we have a picnic basket.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153413-1.jpg

I can see something!  Is that a lighthouse?

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9153415-1.jpg

Oh, it's a life guard tower!  And it looks like there is a wedding couple up there taking pictures.  That sure looks very romantic.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263526.jpg

I meet some seagulls but no pelicans yet.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263521.jpg

Behind me is the Atlantic Ocean.  Wow! On the other side of the ocean is Portugal and Germany.  When I was in Portugal I was looking at the same ocean, but on the other side.  That's so amazing.  I say a big hi to Olgamaus.  Can she hear me?

Miami, Florida, United States - 19th September 2009

By: tarepanda

As Miami is the closest major U.S. city from Cuba, there is a substantial Cuban immigration population here, and therefore a lot of Cuban restaurants.

Today we go to a place called El Rey de Las Fritas, which means The King of Fries, to try the Cuban hamburger.  I wonder how it is different from McDonald's?  Anyway, I am in America now so I should eat some hamburger.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193440.jpg

Let's look at the menu!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193441.jpg

We order a guarapo, and a fruta bomba.  Guess what they are?  Sugar cane juice and papaya shake!

This is a Cuban hamburger, a Frita.  Instead of the French fries on the side, looks like they put it inside the hamburger!!  They also use paprika to make the meat looks very red.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193445.jpg

Hmmm...  it's actually tastier than it sounds!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193447.jpg

After the meal, we finish with a cup of cordadito.  It's espresso coffee with milk and sugar.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193449.jpg

After lunch, we go by to our host's friend's place.  She is having a garage sale.  Which means putting everything she doesn't need out in the front yard for people to stop by and buy.  It's a popular way to get ride of unwanted stuff, and there are professionals who go around to hunt for good bargains.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193451.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9193453.jpg

We see some toys and go over to say hi.  Our host wants to adopt some to be a TV but she decides they are too big to travel.  I do wish they can find a good home nonetheless.  Good luck!

Our host received some Harry Potter coloring book through a BookCrossing, where she is a member.  It's a bookring, which means that the book goes around to different members, who read it and pass it on, till the last participant sends it back to the person who started the ring.  For this coloring book ring, instead of reading a book, we pick a few pages to color.  Of course we are happy to help our host.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223472.jpg

Hmm, it's hard to decide which pages to color.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223473.jpg

Yuck! Who wants to color Umbridge?  She is EVIL!!!  BAD!!  I want to tear out the page or smear her face but I decide it's not a polite thing to do.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223474.jpg

We vote to color this page.  I will color the pumpkins a lovely orange.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223475.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223476.jpg

We also want to color Dumbledore and Snape, because they are two greatest headmasters of Hogswart.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223477.jpg

That's a lot of trees to color! Let's each grab a green pastel.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223478.jpg

Phew, it takes a long time but we feel pretty proud of ourselves.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9223479.jpg

I like to color the girls too, and give them pretty clothes.

Today we go to the Miami International Wine Fair.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9273531.jpg

It is one of the largest wine tradeshows in America, featuring over 85,000 sqft (~8,000 m2) of exhibit space with nearly 500 producers showcasing more than 1,500 wines from 20 countries.  I wonder if anyone can drink all that???

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9263511.jpg

There are a lot of booths and many people.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9273535.jpg

We try out some Portuguese wine.  Which reminds me of the good time I spent in Portugal.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9273532.jpg

Wine from Florida!  But Florida is too hot to grow grapes so the wine are made from other fruits, such as mango and lychee.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9273537.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9273541.jpg

We also attend some wine classes.  This one is my favorite, sushi and sake!

Today is the Mid Autumn Festival in China.  It is a night when the moon is supposedly the roundest in the year, and a day for families to gather together and celebrate.  Indeed there are a lot of poems written about wanderers looking at the moon and thinking about the birthplaces and families they left behind.

There is also a saying that overseas the moon is rounder and bigger.  Hmm... I don't know about that.  It looks the same to me. But seeing the moon does make me miss my mommy back in Hong Kong very much.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA033672.jpg

Seeing I am homesick, to cheer me up, my host offers us a little moon cake party.  First we pick the tea, for mooncake goes very well with a cup of hot tea.  I am happy to see all the moon cakes!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA033675.jpg

This mooncake is made with lotus seed.  All the mooncakes have an egg yolk in it, the round yolk representing the moon.  They say that during the Mongolian invasion, rebels hid messages inside the cakes and passed them around, thus succeeding in overthrowing the Mongolian rulers.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA033676.jpg

Yum yum... Hi Mommy did you eat some mooncake too?

Guess what kind of restaurant we go to today?

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA103749.jpg

You are right!  It's Korean!

First we order some nice Korean beer.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA103751.jpg

As typical in Korean restaurants, the waitress bring us a lot of small appertizer dishes, called banchan.  There are various kinds of kim chee and pickles, some tofu cake, bean sprout, salad and more.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA103753.jpg

This is an appertizer dish ddeokbokki, made with some rice cake, clear noodles, vegetables and other ingredients. It's rather spicy.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA103752.jpg

Next comes the grilled meat.  This place uses authentic charcoal instead of gas stove.  We put the meat on top and make sure it's grilled nicely.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA103755.jpg

With all the spicy and hot food we need some cold dessert!  This is a big bowl of shaved ice, with beans, rice cakes, fruits, ice cream and whipped cream.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/PA103757.jpg

Mommy, I am so excited today!!  My host tells me that we are going somewhere vey special.  I wonder what it is?

We are going to Pelican Harbor! Wow.  I wonder if there may be any pelicans there?  I ask my host but she just smiles and tells me to be patient.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303628.jpg

The sign says that they have a bird sanctuary here.  I want to go visit!!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303629.jpg

Next we spot a van with a picture of a pelican.  The Seabird Station is a non profit group to rescue and rehabilate animals, especially sea birds.  Oh, I wonder if they have pelicans here???  I am getting so excited!!!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303581.jpg

Oh THERE IS A REAL PELICAN!!  I go by and say hi but I am so nervous I may look a bit silly to him.  But he is very nice and welcome us and they show us around.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303560.jpg

These pelicans are inside the cage while they recover from injuries.  Most of these injuries are caused by entanglement with fishing lines, ingestion of plastic and other manmade garbage.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303564.jpg

Well, I hope you get well soon!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303566.jpg

This pelican is here to visit his girlfriend.  He says he has been visiting everyday and can't wait till she gets out of the hospital.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303568.jpg

It's dinner time!  All the birds get very excited.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303570.jpg

Looks like there is quite a line.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303573.jpg

Here is a different kind of bird.  We don't know its name but it has beautiful blue eyes.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303575.jpg

I feel so happy that I have one of my dreams fulfilled!  Goodbye my pelican friends!!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303579.jpg

After the visit we wander around the harbor a bit.  Oh look, a pelican boat!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303585.jpg

I want to fly over there and join the seagulls, and maybe just claim one of the posts as mine and just sit there and enjoy the harbor.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303594.jpg

Oh look, there is mother duck with her babies!!  They are so cute!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303599.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303619.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303618.jpg

Oh no, there are some American black vultures.  I am not sure if what they like to eat but they sure look very scary!!  Um, I think it's time to go home!!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/miami%2009/P9303625.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA173789.jpg

Oh wow Mommy you see this?  It's a picture of Hong Kong made with Legos!!  Mocha says that he went to Hong Kong too but there was no dragon in the water.  What a silly moose.  Anyway, I miss you, I miss Hong Kong.

Lake Bueno Vista, Florida, USA - 18th October 2009

By: tarepanda

Today we are heading home already.  I am a bit disappointed that we don't get to visit more of Disney but we have to go back.  However, we will have breakfast first.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183886.jpg

We arrive at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  We are having an African buffet.  I have never tried African food before!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183900.jpg

Let's go get some food.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183894.jpg

I get some POG (Pineapple Orange Guava) juice, some quinoa, some egg with curried meat, ham, grilled tomato and other stuff.  They also have an African fruit salad which is very delicious, and other more standard breakfast fare such as French toast, cereal, muffins, croissants and omelette.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183895.jpg

Even their restroom is nicely decorated with woven baskets.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183891.jpg

This is where the guest rooms are at the lodge.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183899.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183896.jpg

After breakfast we have a bit of time for shopping.  There are a lot of outlet malls here so we have a good time.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183907.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/florida/PA183908.jpg

Oh, I want to get a postcard to send home.
