Travelog for: UrselHH

Sülfeld, Germany - 11th January 2010

By: RikeH

Hello out there,
UrselHH is lost...the host in the USA did’t send her home or to the next host in Russia. So Dicker Kumpel tried to reach her with the help of Magic Hippo. It worked with two others, but not this time.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2317.jpg

UrselHH is my godmother – and I am named after her – so my name is UrselHH, too. I will travel through the world and try to find her.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2320.jpg

Dicker Kumpel wished me luck – and maybe I will return home someday with my godmother.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2321.jpg

Now I will start my trip to Russia!
Greetings
UrselHH

Moscow, Russia - 22nd February 2010

By: TaisAfinskaia

Hello mummy!
Today I was at the Red Square:

Quote:
Red Square is a city square in Moscow. The square separates the Kremlin, the former royal citadel and currently the official residence of the President of Russia, from a historic merchant quarter known as Kitai-gorod. As major streets of Moscow radiate from here in all directions, being promoted to major highways outside the city, Red Square is often considered the central square of Moscow and all of Russia.

Military parade takes place on Red Square every May. Here world famous musical stars show there concerts.
The weather is not the best one for having long walks, but as you can see there are many people at the Red Square.

At my second photo you can see State Historical Museum

At the last photo you can see me and the Kremlin Wall refers to the defense wall that surrounds the Moscow Kremlin, recognizable by the characteristic notches and its Kremlin towers.

Amsterdam, Netherlands - 2nd March 2010

By: TaisAfinskaia

Hello mummy!
I`m finally in Amsterdam!
Today Beaver and I had an excursion through the city.
You can see me with the concert hall (red one).

Quote:
The main theatre building of Amsterdam is the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam at the Leidseplein. It is the home base of the Toneelgroep Amsterdam. The current building dates from 1894. Most plays are performed in the Grote Zaal (Great Hall).

There are many cute brown houses in Amsterdam, they are very nice.
And I saw very luxury cinema! Theater Tuschinski! I`ve never seen such strange cinema-hall.

I also enjoyed my trip to see and I saw the famous "I amsterdam".

Bye mummy!

Amsterdam, Netherlands - 3rd March 2010

By: TaisAfinskaia

Hello mummy!
Today I found a typical Amsterdam post-box!
And I found out how in Russian will be "mouse and cheese", but it is very difficult to pronounce.
Mouse = mysh
cheese = syr.
But the "y" is spelled more hard than in English.

Barcelona, Spain - 6th March 2010

By: TaisAfinskaia

Hello mummy!
I`m in Barcelona!!!
Today I saw the sea and drank Spanish tea from very small tea-pot. And I saw a demonstration: young people beat the drum, I don`t know what the wanted to ask or to say to the government but it was very interesting and merry, many people were dancing.
And I`ve made photo on the Barcelona post-box, it is situated on the ground, not at the wall!
At the night we visited the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family by Antoni_Gaudí

Quote:
The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família (official Catalan name; Spanish: Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia; "Expiatory Church of the Holy Family"), often simply called the Sagrada Família, is a massive, privately-funded Roman Catholic church that has been under construction in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain since 1882 and is not expected to be complete until at least 2026. A portion of the building's interior is scheduled to open for public worship and tours by September 2010.

Good night mummy!
Hope you are fine mummy!

Paris, France - 13th March 2010

By: TaisAfinskaia

Hello mummy!
I`m in Paris!
Today was perfect day! I used Paris metro for the first time, tasted delicious French cookies and had very pleasant walk.
We went to Cite - part of Paris where Notre-Dame de Paris is situated!
I was inside of cathedral (it is so great inside!!!) and then we climbed by stairs on the top (400 footsteps mummy!). There are very ugly figures there and I found even one bird.
I enjoyed view of Paris from  Notre-Dame!

P.S.And tomorrow we are flying to Moscow!

Moscow, Russia - 20th March 2010

By: TaisAfinskaia

Hello mummy!

Today was the shopping day! We visited two biggest shopping-centers in Moscow: "European" (the first photo) and in GUM which is situated on  Red Square where I`ve already been.

Quote:

Main Department Store or GUM (pronounced as goom, in full Glavnyi Universalnyi Magazin) is a modern name for the main department store in many cities of the former Soviet Union, known as State Department Store, Gosudarstvennyi Universalnyi Magazin) in the Soviet times. Similar-named stores were in the some Soviet republics and post-Soviet states. The most famous GUM is a large store in Kitai-gorod of Moscow, facing Red Square. It is actually a shopping mall. Prior to the 1920s the place was known as the Upper Trading Rows.

Yours,UrselHH
