Oregon, USA - 1st May 2016
By: JelloPuddin
I have traveled many miles over the ocean with my friend HelgaHH, and then we landed in Oregon USA
We are here now in Oregon and as soon as we got out of our travel case then we were in a photo shoot. Goodness---we barely had time to stretch our little legs We brought with us candies for our host "JelloPuddin" and we hope she will share them with us too. They are mini gummy bears and sweets along with some of those little creepy crawly gummy sour worms. Yikes! Our host can eat those

When I arrived I did notice that there were many wood toys sitting all around a big room. I then learned that our host makes small pine wood toys for little animals like myself, to chew on.
Although I travel a lot and eat many different types of food, I need small things to chew on to keep my teeth short and looking good These little wood toys are made for pet mice like myself. She also makes them for rats, guinea pigs and chinchillas.
My host made me a cute little "cake pop" to chew on and a "mini do-nut". It's just my size. YUM!

I shared the exciting news with my friend HelgaHH but she said "silly mouse---ladybugs don't chew on wood"
Oh---I got so excited --- I forgot!
When she saw the mini ice cream bars and the little hamsters, she said, "YIKES" only a mouse would want to chew on such a thing.

On my second day to visit my host in Oregon, I got to travel to a secret place where there is a GeoCache. It is where humans hide small toys in a hidden container.
Anyone, that is a member of this geocaching group, can go find it in the forest. You must use a GPS to find the location. I could not see where it was hidden, deep in the back of this hole in a very old tree, until my host showed me where it was.
My friend HelgaHH went with me to see this area. It was very pretty there with trees all about. We then added a bunch of new toys to this cache so that others can trade something when they find the cache. It was exhausting walking there but I had fun when I got to help find the cache.
We traveled to a beautiful little area that is called Siuslaw Falls. It is very small falls because it is set just for the fish to travel up steam.

Happy May Day everyone!
Today I have my choice of cheeses I would like to munch on for the day. You know how much a mouse loves cheeses? So, I have chosen all three of these lovely cheeses to eat. Goat Cheese, Cheddar Cheese made here in Tillamook, Oregon, and a Swiss cheese. All quite tasty.

Toulouse, France - 30th May 2018
By: Natalina
Hi Mom,
After a slightly stressful trip (you know I don't like being enclosed in envelopes!), I finally arrived in Toulouse.
At first, I was a little intimidated, but Natalina made me feel real welcome.
I also met little Theo, a nice Bavarian lion who quickly became fond of me. I'm sure we'll be good friends (if he doesn't eat me... I'm joking, of course, he seems so sweet).
Well, now I need to rest a little, but don't worry, you will hear from me very soon...
Hugs

Toulouse, France - 31st May 2018
By: Natalina
Hello Mom,
I celebrated my arrival in France with a little vodka and, as you can imagine, generous portions of cheese. I tasted Gruyère and Bleu d'Auvergne.
And in Toulouse, they've got violet sugar. That's really to die for!
With Theo, we visited an exhibition on Italian immigration that interested us a lot. Mamma mia, it makes me think that I must test the mascarpone gorgonzola 😉
I learnt the words "mouse" and "cheese" in Italian. That's : "Topo" and "Formaggio" (in French : "Souris" et "Fromage", as I read in the book Ratatouille).
Then, we participated in a picnic made of organic products. I really liked the vegetable spring roll (probably because of mozzarella too).
I hope you're fine, as well as Dick Kumpel and Little Monty.
Kisses and hugs

Toulouse, France - 3rd June 2018
By: Natalina
Hello Mum,
On this Sunday, we took advantage of a short lull in the rain, to go for a walk in the city.
First, a little immersion in nature, in the garden of the former cloister of the Chatreux (in ruins, but soon in restoration). It is next to the University of Social Sciences... Look, I even made tree climbing in fig trees.
In the street, there is a giant photo of singer Claude Nougaro, you know, the one who sings "Ohooooo Toulouuuuuuse" (he was born here).
Then, with Theo, we strolled on the banks of the Garonne river and the Quai de la Daurade.
Finally, we visited the church of Jacobins, where there was a nice exhibition on the paths of Saint Jacques de Compostela.
We went back home for tea time, very tired. But Natalina offered us nonnettes (gingerbread cookies with orange marmalade inside). I loved that!
Lots of kisses
Your UrselHH 🐀
