By: Mosuha

As we drove westerly, we past by a lot of eucalyptus trees and saw some wild koalas. They were sooo cute...

And we also had some freetime to walk through a nice rainforest. The australian landscape is really one of a kind and so amazingly rich and different.

I just looooooovvvvveeee it!

12 Apostle, Australia - 6th January 2009

By: Mosuha

Later the same day, we arrived at the so called "twelve apostles".

The Twelve Apostles are a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Their proximity to one another has made the site a popular tourist attraction. Originally the site was called the Sow and Piglets. Muttonbird Island near Loch Ard Gorge was the ‘Sow’ and the smaller rock stacks the ‘Piglets.’ The name was changed in the 1950s to the more majestic "The Twelve Apostles" to lure more visitors even though there were only nine left.

The Twelve Apostles are between the towns of Port Campbell and Princetown on the Great Ocean Road. In the early 2000s a visitor centre was built on the inland side of the road to allow for easy parking and access to the best viewing area.

We also saw the "London Arch" , which is a natural arch in the Port Campbell National Park. This stack was formed by a gradual process of erosion, and until 1990 formed a complete double-span natural bridge.

The arch closest to the shoreline collapsed unexpectedly on 15 January 1990, leaving two tourists stranded on the outer part: they were rescued by a helicopter. Fortunately nobody was injured in the event. Prior to the collapse, the arch was known as London Bridge because of its similarity to its namesake.

It was a really long day, till we arrived back at the hotel and unfourtunatly, it was our last day in australia. We all were a little sad, because we all felt in love with this amazing country!

The next day, we just packed our stuff and hit the plane to sydney, were our flight was waiting to take us back to India.

Singapore, Singapore - 8th January 2009

By: Mosuha

On our way back to Chennai, we stopped in Singapore to change the plane. But we had to pass 7 hours waiting time....

Luckly the aiport of singapore offers a great service. If you like you can get on a free city tour, to get an idea of singapore and of cause we wanted to see that!

This city and small state is unbelievable clean and neat and very modern! We vistited a nice, old chinese temple as well, and back at the airport, there was another surprise.

Imagine, we could see a real Formula One Racing Car from the very close. I was so impressed!

By: Mosuha

Back in Chennai these days.... but somehow I miss Australia already. I hope, one day I am able to travel there again!

Some friends of my hosts came by this months and we explored a lot of temples and ancient places. Very often we weren't allowed to take pictures for you guys at home.

I am so sorry!

But in this photos you can see some nice and very old shore temples in Mahabalipuram.

Sun Island, Maldives - 7th May 2009

By: Mosuha

pheeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww....

After already got a little bored in Chennai, it was again, time to travel! I was wondering, where my host would bring me, because they didn't pack a lot of stuff. Just some bathing cloths, a few t-shirts, some books and their ipods.

Where would we go?????

The flight time was not really long, till we landed in ...... Malè, the capitel of the island groups of the maledives.

The Maldives or Maldive Islands, officially the Republic of Maldives, is an island country consisting of a group of atolls stretching south of India's Lakshadweep islands between Minicoy Island and the Chagos Archipelago, and about seven hundred kilometres south-west of Sri Lanka in the Laccadive Sea of Indian Ocean. The twenty-six atolls of Maldives encompass a territory featuring 1,192 islets, of which 250 islands are inhabited.

The Maldives is the smallest Asian country in terms of both population and area; it is the smallest predominantly Muslim nation in the world. With an average ground level of 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level,it is also the country with the lowest highest point in the world, at 2.3 metres (7 ft 7 in).

From Malè we took a seaplane to reach our destination, Sun Island Resort, on an island of the south ari atoll.

The flight was exciting, though you could see several islands on the way by and I was full of anticipation!!!

Paradise, Maldives - 8th May 2009

By: Mosuha

I AM IN PARADISE!!!

Sun Island is one of the biggest islands of the maledives and lucky us, we got one of the nicest bungalows on the island.

Although the island is so "big", our place was very private with a piece of "private" beach and I couldn't wait to see the beautiful colour of the ocean here.

From the bungalow it was just a few steps to the shore and.... LOOK AT THAT VIEW!!!

What can you probably do best in paradise?

Exactly!

NOTHING, but relax, chill, hang out.... enjoy!

While my host went for snorkeling, I just soak in the incredible view and took a sunbath....
