HAPPY EASTER MUMMY!

This morning we we slept in and juls got up early to hide the eggs. Or rather: she instructed the Easter Bunny to hide some extra nests for us TVs!
Here is what I found. Chocolate eggs and golden bunnies! I ate some right away and shared one with Juls and Blou Beer but I will save the others for later :)

In the afternoon we prepared food for tomorrow. We helped cut the asparagus for the soup, mix the tuna and fry the chicken, make a salad, and roll the dough for the sweet bunnies. It was hard work.

I hope you had a great day too mummy and found some sweet easter eggs yourself!

Love
Mandy

Bremen, Germany - 26th April 2012

By: juls

Moin Mummy!

Finally some more news from Bremen.
Yesterday we went into town. I saw the famous "Schnoor". It is part of Bremen's old town. It goes back all the way to the 13th century when they built the convent which still exists today. Most of the houses aren't that old though. They are from the 18th century. The name derives from the old craftsman who lived here. "Snoor" is old low saxon for "string" or "cord". Bremen's ropes for ships were crafted here.
It was also a suitable name for the architecture. The small houses are so close together that some of the passages (streets) are only a 80cm wide!!
Some of it was destroyed during Word War II but then reconstructed to save the heritage. The passage way "Wüstestätte" (wasted ground) was where the most damage was done.

But also I got to see some of Bremen's famous whorl heritage sites. The town hall, the cathedral, the town musicians, the Schütting (that's where the merchants had meetings) and the chocolaterie Hachez!

Afterwards we walked across the dutch flower market, passed Bremen's newspaper publishing company "Weser Kurier" and  had a coffee at Starbucks.

Lots of love
Blou beer

Lahnstein, Germany - 9th May 2012

By: FraJ

Hiya

I'm safe in Lahnstein, Rhineland-Palatinate arrived.
Currently FraJ has much to do, so I decided to help her a bit:

She has some details to draw with a computer program. I also wanted to try it and it is difficult but fun if you get the hang out  ;)

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-7y-d395.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-80-92c8.jpg

I even helped her with the correction of some finished details:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-81-e379.jpg

So, you know about it
We are doing well and have much to do!
But what I've seen of Rhineland-Palatinate is beautiful!
I'm excited about what I will see.

Greetings!

Nürburgring, Germany - 19th May 2012

By: FraJ

Hellooooo from beautiful rhineland!

Late update, I know... but FraJ and I got a lot to do for her study...
But this saturday we had a bit time to visit the big 24h race on the Nürburgring!

But first FraJ had to work and I decided to help her:

She worked on a drinks market

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-84-46ba.jpg

I helped her to clear the heavy drink cases

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-85-0e01.jpg

And in the lunch break we granted delicious carrots  ;)

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-82-6a9a.jpg

Then I helped her with the scanning on the cash desk

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8b-9c83.jpg

After work we could drive to the Nürburgring!
I could watch the whole weekend the race cars  :D

Coblenz, Germany - 25th May 2012

By: FraJ

Hiya!

Today FraJ and I did a tour with the bike and we got awesome weather  :cyclops:

We drove along the Rhine

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8d-53c3.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8e-6883.jpg

and drove along the German Corner.
It's a different view of the beautiful Memorial:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8c-1700.jpg

We crossed the Rhine at Bendorf, which also allowed me a new view of the Rhine Valley:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8f-4918.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8g-d296.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8h-9fd8.jpg

On the way home we drove by on the other side at the German Corner. From this side you have a very good view of the fortress Ehrenbreitstein:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8i-26e3.jpg

In the evening a friend of FraJ brought us a surprise:

Different and so delicious wines from the State Winery in Bad Kreuznach  :o

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8j-ef0d.jpg

That will give us excellent and very funny evenings  ;)
But first is waiting a short holiday in the Netherlands to us!
I am so happy! After so much work in the past weeks that's just the right now!

Greetings!

Bloemendaal aan Zee, Netherlands - 26th May 2012

By: FraJ

Hellooooooooo!

I'm on the way to Rotterdam/ Amsterdam!
FraJ and I make a short trip to the North Sea. To be more specific in Bloemendaal aan Zee. Not far from Amsterdam.

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8k-94f6.jpg

After the arrival we went first to the beach.
Why else we might be moved to the North Sea  B)

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8l-34ed.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8m-577b.jpg

And what do you do on the beach?
Right!
You build a sand castle!  :cyclops:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8n-11b9.jpg

Awesome, isn't it?!  :D

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8o-37bc.jpg

I'm the king of my castle  ;) ... or queen:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8p-496e.jpg

There is also a nature reserve. The dunes are incredibly beautiful!

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8q-b2eb.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8r-8e98.jpg

In the evening we sat on a dune and watched the sunset.
For this we enjoyed a red wine from the state winery and ate cheese, bread and grapes. What a life!

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8s-a8c8.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8t-edde.jpg

Haarlem & Amsterdam, Netherlands - 27th May 2012

By: FraJ

Hi there!

After a Dutch breakfast we made our way to Amsterdam.

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8v-9dfc.jpg

We traveled by train,  because by car you usually can't get a car park in Amsterdam...
But first we stopped at Haarlem, and visited some parts of the city.

Haarlem is beautiful with all the typical canals and also an old windmill, we have seen!

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8u-06eb.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8x-158f.jpg

Arrived in Amsterdam, we were overwhelmed by hundreds of bikes!
They are everywhere and there's even parking garages only for bikes!

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-8y-7588.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/j3og-90-ad13.jpg

Now I have one problem..

Do you know this, that if one is so impressed by a place that you forget to take pictures?

I'm sorry I can't show more pictures of Amsterdam but it was great!
And maybe there's another chance in a sheep's live to see this awesome city!  ;)

Tomorrow morning we go again, unfortunately. But I hope you enjoy the pictures like I enjoyed the short trip.

greetings from lovely Amsterdam!
Cya

Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany - 28th June 2012

By: HoBi

Hello Mum,

Today I arrived in Lower Saxony. Murph and Maxi waited for me there.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2338.jpg

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2340.jpg

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2342.jpg

I started my visit and went around the town Bad Salzdetfurth. Murph lives in Detfurth, a part of the town.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2331.jpg

Here you can see the church of Detfurth.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2335.jpg

Bad Salzdetfurth is an old mining town. All over the city you can see machines out of this time.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2329.jpg

Later I went into the spa gardens.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2304.jpg

There were 2 big salines in the spa gardens. People used the salines to get salt in the Past.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2307.jpg

Today they relax next to it and enjoy the healthy air.
http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2308.jpg

There were many flowers in the park.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2310.jpg

I found a beautiful fountain between the salines.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2315.jpg

This is the famous place of Murph – the Summstein. You sit in it and bumble. Then your body tickles.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2317.jpg

More memories of the mining time.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2324.jpg

I never saw something like this. It is a golf-adventure-course. Maybe Murph and I will play there in the next days?

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juni%202012/Ankunft%20Mandy%20Juni%202012/IMG_2321.jpg

Bad Salzdetfurth is a beautiful town.

Lamspringe, Germany - 1st July 2012

By: HoBi

Hello Mum,

Murph showed me a wonderful park with an abbey today. At the gate we saw the horse of lower Saxony.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2351.jpg

On this sign you can see the whole garden.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2366.jpg

This is the church of the abbey.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2360.jpg

And at this point the river starts, that flew through Bad Salzdetfurth. It is the Lamme.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2357.jpg

There was a lovely lake in the garden.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2361.jpg

This house is the mill of the abbey. They produced the flour for the abbey here in the past.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2367.jpg

Unfortunately I don’t know what this big roll was for.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2370.jpg

Isn’t this church beautiful and big?

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2377.jpg

This ring is called Halseisen (iron collar). The people who did bad things had to wear it – and they were chained at the market place.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2379.jpg

Mam – I must have been here before! It was me on the old sign!

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2381.jpg

It was a really wonderful park!

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/IMG_2382.jpg

Many greetings

Hello Mum,

Today Murph showed me Bad Salzdetfurth. It is an old mining town. Here you see me in front of a mine.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Altstadt%20Juli%202012/IMG_2347.jpg

There is a path of the planets in the town. All planets are in the right dimension and distance to each other in the city. The big golden ball in front of the house is the sun.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Altstadt%20Juli%202012/IMG_2387.jpg

The small ball next to me is the Earth.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Altstadt%20Juli%202012/IMG_2388.jpg

There were many old timbered houses.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Altstadt%20Juli%202012/IMG_2393.jpg

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Altstadt%20Juli%202012/IMG_2395.jpg

Hildesheim, Germany - 21st July 2012

Hello Mum,

Today I visited the Magdalenengarten in Hildesheim.

You can meet this funny guy at the entrance; He collects donations for the garden.

Normally there were many blooming roses in this garden. But many of them were destroyed by the heavy rain. Anyway we found  some beautiful flowers.

Look – a nice sundial.

Later we had a break on this bench.

There was a small fountain in the pavilion.

A lot of statues were all over the park. I loved this one most.

These blossoms belong to a special kind of the chestnut tree.

My last photo of this wonderful garden.

On our way back we stopped at the famous Michaelis-Church.

Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany - 28th July 2012

By: HoBi

Hello Mum,

Today was my last day with Murph. We went into the forest and searched mushrooms.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Abschied%20Mandy%20Juli%202012/IMG_2437.jpg

At the beginning we found a lovely family of a really rare mushroom. Unfortunately we didn’t know the English name.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20Juli%202012/Abschied%20Mandy%20Juli%202012/IMG_2422.jpg

I didn’t see this rare flower before – it was the wood cow wheat.

This small mushroom is eatable.

Then we had a rest in the  moor.

And then this: a big king bolete. I was able to sit on it.

When we came home – Aurelius arrived and waited for us. He brought chocolate  - and it melted – the last days were really hot.

That’s why we decided that I won’t take chocolate with me. Maybe ‘Gummibärchen’ will be better?

I said goodbye to Murph and the others. Then I jumped into my envelope.

I had a great time  with Murph – now I am on my way to Noisy.

Many greetings
Mandy Sheep
