Travelog for: Frankenstein

Marlborough, Wiltshire - 5th March 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Here I am in the corridor of a haunted house.

This house is a residential home for eight adults.

Staff here have felt they were being watched. They've turned around, expecting to see someone behind them, only to see nothing.

One evening a lady who works here, Val, was in the sitting room when she saw someone walk pass the door. She asked the person with her if they'd seen anything. They had, an old grey man. They both went out into the corridor but he wasn't there.

Val was 'sleeping in' that night. She didn't sleep!

Ohh, it's ever so exciting.

Another spooky thing happened in this house, and it's happened more than once:

Behind the ribbons is a door. This is a fire door. It is held open by magnets and closes only when there is a fire, or the alarm is set off. In addition, it can be closed at night by hand but you can not force it shut, it closes very slowly. If you try to push it you are met with resistance which is normal for a fire door.

On several occasions a member of staff has just been about to walk through the door and it has slammed shut in her face! No one can slam it shut, it's too hard to close, and the door is regularly checked and there's nothing wrong with it's mechanism!

The staff at the house think the old grey man has something to do with it!

So now I've actually been inside a haunted house! I'm very excited to have completed a mission.

I'm going to stay in England for a bit longer so I'm hoping to visit lots more exciting places while I'm here. No where will be as exciting as being in this house though.

I wonder if they'll let me stay overnight?

Calne, England - 16th March 2008

By: Steve & Helly

I'n not ghost hunting today, instead I'm off to Wales to meet up with other 2CV cars and to visit a mining museum.

However, the weather was so bad we nearly turned around before we got to Bath. We could hardly see out of the windows and the roads were flooded.

My new friends Pierre Bear, TibiPanda and Elephonse came too. Elephonse decided that unless he could see beautiful scenery or other blue elephants he would stay safely tucked up in the back of the car!

However, the rest of us found it far more exciting trying to balance to see out of the window. I had to hold TibiPanda very tight in case she fell over.

Newport, Wales - 16th March 2008

By: Steve & Helly

I'm so excited to be able to visit Wales.

The roads were so wet and the weather so bad there were floods everywhere.

I'm sure it's very beautiful when it's dry.

Pontypool, Wales - 16th March 2008

Here I am, sat on Monsieur Alfonse with a great view. At least, it should have been great but it was icy cold and very misty.

Still, it was great fun!

Dover, England - 21st March 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Hurrah,

What a surprise, I'm off to France and all the Toy Voyagers are coming too.

I'm going to Bolougne for Easter weekend. I wonder if they have ghosts in France?

I'm going in Elephonse's car, Monsieur Alfonse, with two other 2CVs.

First stop, Dover.

Cap de Blanc, France - 22nd March 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Hurrah, I'm in France!!

But, what a day!

The wind was SO strong Steve had to tie Monsieur Alfonse's bonnet down with cable ties as it was in danger of blowing back on the car.

We went up on the coastal cliff at Cap de Blanc which was a little bit dangerous. Poor Helly got blown in the opposite direction from where she was heading. We only got one photo and that was because Helly couldn't balance and hold the camera at the same time.

You can see how windy it was, I'm holding on to Pierre Bear who was in danger of being blown away!

Bolougne, France - 23rd March 2008

By: Steve & Helly

After all that excitement yesterday we drove up to the old fortified town of Bolougne.

There were lots of nice old buildings , and I'm sure lots of ghosts, although I didn't see any!

We walked around the outer wall of the town from where we could see the cars parked below.

Unfortunately I'm off on my travels again this week. I shall miss Wiltshire and the ghost hunting I've done. I'll also miss Pierre Bear who is as mischievious as me!

By: carlissa

We had a voyager named Theo (Theobald) from Germany come to stay with us for awhile.

Here I am with Theo:

It got me thinking that I haven't been anywhere in a very long time, so my Mommy said she will take me on a trip to Niagara Falls in New York!  I can't wait to be travelling again.
