Miskolc, Hungary - 11th September 2008
By: Szandra
Hello from Hungary!!!
I'm already here for some days ago, but I arrived when my host was on holiday, so I had to wait a little to update my travelog.
I'm fine and today we had beautiful sunny day, so I decided to discover the house and the garden!
At first I got to know some pets: Karcsi the cat, two dogs called Ali and Barni, one of the pet rats, Pali and finally I visited the rabbits outside.
But as I heard, there are still some animals... I hope later I can meet with them too.
I enjoyed walking thru the garden, I saw a lot of flowers and finally when I got tired, I relaxed on the bridge of the little garden-lake. I was looking for some goldfishes...but they hid.
Tomorrow we'll travel to Budapest. Talk to you soon!

Budapest, Hungary - 14th September 2008
By: Szandra
I spent a few days in Budapest, in the capital of Hungary.
We went for a little excursion and our first stop was the Heroes square.
I heard that it was built in 1896 to celebrate the millennium of the Hungarian conquest of the Carparthian Basin. And the square is flanked on either side by the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palace of Art.

Than we went to see the Vajdahunyad Castle. Its various parts illustrate the different styles of Hungarian architecture. Derived its name from the wing facing the lake, which is an imitation of the Castle of Vajdahunyad in Transylvania.
There is also a nice park with a lake. I enjoyed walking around it. Now, it was very calm, but Szandra told that in summer time it is more crowded, when there are a lot of tourists.

While we were walking to our next destination I found a little fountain. And on the opposite side of the street I realized the Széchenyi thermal bath. As this is the largest spa complexes in Europe, I wanted to go inside to swim a little... but it was too cold outside, so we rather wanted to hurry back home!!

When we arrived back to Szandra's apartment, we lighted a lot of candles and relaxed!
Than I realized a nice butterfly hanging down from the chandelier and I played with her until I got totally tired and went to sleep.

Budapest, Hungary - 28th September 2008

Sziasztok!!! This means, "hi" in Hungarian!
I'm doing fine! I have got a good friend, Skippy, who is also a toyvoyager!
Here are some photos about our trip to the Buda Castle.
I read in Skippy's travelog that he wrote some details, so I also tell you the things we heard about that place.
This was the residence of Hungarian kings.
The fortification system and palace, built in the 13th century and being renewed from time to time symbolizes the country itself.
It's a pity that the Mathias Church was under
reconstruction, but broadly we saw it and I loved it a lot!
And the view from the castle was so beautiful! I just set down and enjoyed it!
More photos about our last few days are coming soon!

Miskolc, Hungary - 30th September 2008
By: Szandra
Now, we are again in Szandra's hometown, Miskolc.
And we have just arrived back from a short walk, we looked round a short way off.
There are a lot of weekend houses and there is also a forest by near. The landscape was so beautiful beause everything was parti-coloured: yellows, reds, purples... I loved it!

And today we went to see also the city center.
While we were walking in the main street, we saw the Gallery and the National Theatre of Miskolc. This was the first stone-built theatre in Hungary.
And you can see photos also about the Erzsébet Square. I wanted to plunge my leg into the water, but it was too cold!

Glasgow, Scotland - 5th October 2008
By: Szandra
When we arrived to Glasgow, we had such a beautiful weather! We expected for a cold rainy day, so we wanted to go for a walk as soon as possible.
Our hotel was in the Cathedral Square, so we had nice view for the Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis.
I loved all these old bulidings and places!

On the first pic you can see me in the George Square. Very nice place with a lot of young people. We saw this place at home on a webcam and it was amazing to walk there in live!
Than we went to see the Glasgow Green. On the way there we saw a lot of nice things. And however it was a long walk, finally we found it and really....green!!! Beautiful! And we went inside of the People Palace. There is a botanical garden, we set down and enjoyed the feeling of that nice place!
On most of the photos you can see me with Peti, who became a very good friend of mine. And there was also with us Skippy Kangaroo, I enjoyed hanging around with him!
