Later we found a water tower in Steele. It is a really large tower and I like it. There are living people inside now. They don't need water towers anymore in Essen. But there are a few. Maybe we can visit the other ones later, too. Now most of them are for living.

Hello again,

this is my last update for today ! When we went home from the water tower, we saw this wonderful church. The name is "Laurentius Kirche" what means Laurentius church in English. It is a really nice church and I was really unhappy, that we weren't able to go inside.
The ideal of the church was Notre Dame !

Today we said 'Goodbye' to Burrimul Memu! He had to leave us for his next host.
I was really sad because he was so nice to me.
Hopefully he will arrive safety and soon!

after saying Goodbye to Burrimul Memu, we said Hello to Lady ! She is back home now and will start her next travel from here !
She is a really nice Ladybug and maybe we will get to know each other better in the next days. I don't know, we will see.

Hello !

Today BlackCat decided to show us the city. Just Nepomuk and I had space in her bag and she was so sorry to leave Hoppity and Lady at home.
We had a nice walk through the city of Essen.
I will tell you some facts about the things we saw:



That's what we saw when we came out of the main station. It is the emblem of Essen. Essen is called the shopping city and that's what is said after "Essen" (die Einkaufsstadt - the shopping city).


That is the big post office in the city of Essen. It was really big. We brought Burrimul Memu to it.


That's a view of the shopping street where we walked after the visit at the post office !




That's the house "Zum Ritter" - It was a hotel some time ago and now it is a shop where you can buy clothes...


That's a cinema. It is called "Lichtburg" (which would be something like "lightcastle" in English).




That's a statue of Wilhelm I. ! I really don't know why he is standing in the city of Essen. But he looks really smart, doesn't he?
Here you can read something about him!


That's the watchful chicken. It has a history and maybe we will translate it. It is so long, so it will take some time.


This is a fountain in the middle of the city. I really liked it, because we made a break and played in the water !




That's the St. Johann Baptist church. It is really central and I like it a lot !




A beach bar in the middle of a city. Oh my god! We were laughing a lot when we found it !




We found this big teddy in front of a toy shop ! Doesn't it look nice?

Hello again ^^,

we found a statue of Alfred Krupp in the city, too. Alfred Krupp and his wife were really important persons for Essen.

On the city hall of Essen you can see the patron saints of Essen. They are Cosmas and Damian. You can read something about them here!
You can see the emplem of Essen right next to them.
And we made some photos of the city hall, too. It is a very large building.

On our way through the shopping street we found a carillon. It is on this street since 1955 and it is really nice. On every clock hour the pitman strikes at the bell tower the time. Every ¼ hour you can hear the sound of Big Ben at the carillon. It is really nice, but we have not so good photos of it. Maybe we can make better ones next time.

Hello (the last time today – I am tired and we have no more photos after that),

We took the bus for our way home. So we made some photos at the bus stop for you. And we saw the ticket machine. It can speak English, but just on the right side. The left side, where you can choose the ticket, was German…crazy thing.

Hello everybody,

today we helped BlackCat finding a winner for her lottery in the forum! It was really funny. First we made photos with the things, that the winner will get.


2 advertising postcards for ToyVoyagers, 1 postcard from Essen and a magnet with one "Mainzelmännchen" on it. The "Mainzelmännchen" were advertising characters for a German television channel. Really cute ones !


I took one piece of paper. The winners name is written on it.

We opened the piece of paper and a name was written on it:
OLGAMAUS
So, the winner is olgamaus!



I hope she will like her new things !

I am sorry, that we don't update so often, but BlackCat has a new job now and she is really tired after working. But today we went to Steele again and she showed us a little bit more of it !
And at the weekend I will go to my next host. BlackCat will bring me there, if everything goes well !

Today we went to the open pit Garzweiler. We went on the highest place where we can go and watched the people inside while working. It was a really nice view!
We were right in time for a nice sunset. We made a photo for you!

Today we went on a fair. It was really nice there and we saw a lot things.


This is a rollercoaster called "Wilde Maus" (wild mouse).




And that's a traveling slide. It travels around on fairs since 1907. Really big and nice. It is the biggest traveling slide in Europe. It is 24meters high !
