Hello Mom! I just wanted to let you know that I arrived in NY safely. Brrr.....it is very cold here (-2 C). Luckily Michele was home when the mailman arrived so I didn't have to wait in the mailbox. I will post pictures tomorrow as Michele ordered a new digital camera and she says it will arrive tomorrow.
I miss you!

Hi Mom! When I arrived yesterday there were a few animals awaiting me. I was scared to get out of my box when I saw the big bear. Michele and the animals told me that his name is Honey Bear and that he is very friendly. Also awaiting me was Bullet and Piggy. They were really nice as well. We took a group picture so you can see what they look like too. I was told that there are a lot of other animals here. I guess I will have to meet them too.

Michele asked if I was thirsty after my long trip. Boy was I! She offered me something called a "Snapple." She says that you can get them in many different flavors. Michele's favorite is the Peach Iced Tea so I tried some of that. Yumm...I could get used to it. She also offered me a chocolate covered granola bar as a snack. I wasn't too sure but it was tasty.
I'm going to rest for awhile then we are going to look through Michele's cookbooks for some new recipes. I can't wait! I'll update again soon.
*Hugs*

Today Michele asked me if I wanted to help her make chocolate pudding. I told her of course I wanted to help. I tried pouring the milk into the measuring cup but it was far too heavy for me. So instead I mixed it together. It was a lot of work and my arms were sore afterwards.

After we made pudding I asked Michele about her cookbooks. WOW! She sure does have a lot. She told me to pick out one that I wanted to look at, I picked the pretty pink one. As I was looking at it I came across pasta. Yumm....I didn't know they had so many different types of pasta. I told Michele I have to try every one. Michele said that on Sunday we will go grocery shopping and that I can come. I hope I can get some of that pasta!

I asked Michele if I could take a nap after all that work in the kitchen. We went and sat on the couch to relax. As I was sitting there I heard a loud snoring noise! I jumped and looked at Michele, she said it wasn't her. So I decided to take a look under the blanket.....I thought what could be making all that noise.

It was a DOG!!! Michele told me that his name is Riley. I thought it would be nice if I introduced myself; "Hello Riley! My name is Nicki Bear!" He didn't say anything. I was a little sad but Michele told me that Riley doesn't talk like other TV's do. Oh well I said "It was nice to meet you."
I'm enjoying myself in NY mom! I'll update again in a few days. Michele's husband is coming home on Saturday from a business trip. I hope he's nice!. *Hugs* Nicki Bear

This morning I helped Michele make up the grocery list. It was hard because I have never heard of some of the things she was saying. I did the best I could in writing, she said I did a great job for a little bear. We went to Wal-Mart to get the groceries. Michele said it is a very popular place here in the USA. I was allowed to go into the store but we couldn't take any pictures. It's okay, I rode in the cart. I think I'm going to go to the post office tomorrow to pick up some mail. It's been very cold outside! Too cold for me. Brrrr.....

Bullet and I spent the day together. I showed him my notebook and all of the recipes I have in it. He asked me if I knew how to make dog treats, sadly I said no! He told me that I should have at least one dog treat recipe as I never know when I will meet a hungry dog.

Rome, New York, USA - 2nd February 2008
By: Michele_one_L
We got up early this morning because we were going on a road trip to see Michele's family. They live in a city called Schenectady. It's about 1.5 hours East of Rome. Michele put us all in her bag and told us we would be leaving in a little while. As soon as Michele walked away Honey Bear tried getting in the bag. I was scared as there was no room in the bag for a big bear like him. Luckily Michele caught him before he could get in. Silly Bear! Everyone was ready and in the car. I saw that Honey Bear was sitting on the seat in the back, so I asked if I could sit with him. He kept me warm and told me all about the trip. He says that they go on this road trip about once a month to see Michele's family.

We arrived at Michele's dads house. We unloaded the Jeep and picked up her sister Jessica. We had a busy day planned! First we went to a place called "Panera Bread." It's sort of like a cafe but you can get all different types of food there. I wasn't very hungry so I shared an apple with Pimboli and some Lemonade with Michele. The lemonade was too sour for me. It made my lips pucker.

After that we headed over to the Crossgates mall. I have never seen a mall so big! It had so many stores, wow! Jessica wanted to go to the bookstore to look for a magazine. I asked Michele if we could find a postcard to send home. Sadly they didn't have any postcards of local places but I picked one I think you will like. Michele said she will help me write it when we get back to Rome.

After the mall we returned to Jessica's house to relax and have dinner. Later that night we went bowling. I wasn't sure what bowling was but I was told that it was a lot of fun. It looked like it was fun as everyone was cheering when the big ball knocked the skinny blocks down (I was told they are called pins). Michele asked if I wanted to try but I said no I'll just hit here and watch, I'm afraid I was just too little for this game. Once bowling was over we went to Wal-Mart to see Michele and Jessica's mom. I didn't meet her as she was in a hurry for a meeting. We bought some water then headed to Jessica's house again. I was tired from all these adventures today.

From Schenectady to Rome, NY, USA - 3rd February 2008
By: Michele_one_L
I was told that today would be another long day. We gathered all of our stuff, packed up the Jeep and said our goodbyes to Michele's family. I was really tired from all of our running around the day before, so I decided to sleep in on the car ride home. Michele said that she would take pictures of anything she thought that I would like to see. Photo #1 is a shot of the Mohawk River from Interstate 90. Photo #2 and 3 are of the Mountains. Photo #4 is the sign of the exit we were getting off of. And photo #5 is a shot of the Beech Nut baby food factory. I can't believe I slept the whole way and missed everything.

Michele told us that tonight was the Super Bowl (American Football). She said that the New England Patriots and the New York Giants were playing. We all asked if we could watch, I was interested in seeing what American Football was like. So we got up on the couch to watch the game. We decided that we didn't like it so Michele's husband found something else for us to watch. It's called the Puppy Bowl! Someone came up with a silly idea to let puppies play together in a setting that looks like a stadium. It was funny to watch.
