For this week we had some plans, and, to be honest I was convinced that it is going to be boring. You see, my host works in a bookshop plus for a publishing house and I have heard more than enough of books already. And now they are having the Annual International Book Festival of Budapest, and I was told we are off to go.
At least I didn't have to buy a ticket. For a while we talked to a lot of people - I was told that it's "conversing with important people" - and I got seriously bored. But after a while, something changed.
We were off to see and hear a writers-readers meet with youth horror author Mr. Darren Shan. After the meeting I even got to take a picture with him.
He was a bit scary to be honest, because he looks nice but he talks and writes crazy stuff. When my host explained him the situation, he was more than willing to take photos me. At first he grabbed my throat and I was terrified, but it turned out, he was just kidding. Thank heavens for that! So here is me with a red-faced Darren Shan! Now I'm not feeling that bad about going back there tomorrow.
