Moscow, Russia - 6th June 2008

By: kristl

It was really a strange trip... I spent many long days in my box - good that it was not too small and quite comfortable, but when I got out - I found myself in Moscow again - and it was Kristl who met me. She said that my parcel was not taken from the post office - very strange - I'm sure my next hosts were waiting for me.. But I'm safe and sound here and will try to get England again this Sunday:)

Calne, England - 10th July 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Hurrah, I've finally arrived!

What a story. I travelled a long time, rested for a while and then travelled  along time back to Russia. Then it was off again on another long trip to England.

Steve & Helly didn't know I'd arrived the first time. They didn't receive a card telling them I was at the sorting office. Then they got a letter saying there was a 'packet' - do you mind! - that hadn't been collected. When Helly turned up at the sorting office they said it must have been to do with the packet she'd picked up the previous week and had been sent in error as there was nothing for her to collect!

So, I was returned to Russia.

But now I'm here!

I've done lots of exciting things already but Helly's delayed in writing up about them as she's preparing for a teddy bear fair this weekend.

Calne, England - 14th July 2008

By: Steve & Helly

I've decided to show you Helly and Steve's garden.

When they moved in, four years ago, it consisted of concrete, a huge shed and the pond. Helly's done the work herself - well, Steve helped with the gravel!

I started at the left, by the gate and Helly took photos of me turning around the garden clockwise.

It's only a tiny garden but packed full of plants. I do like the summer house, I wonder if it's haunted?

Chesil Beach, England - 20th July 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Today I went 'raiding' in the 2CV. We stopped in a layby at the top of a hill and Elephonse & I posed on the bonnet of the car. I then looked back down the hill towards Chesil Beach. Chesil Beach is a long shingle spit, which has water both behind and in front of it. It's quite an amazing sight.

Silbury Hill, England - 25th July 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Here I am at a huge man made hill called Silbury.

No one knows why it's here although there are some theories. It's pretty impressive!

Once upon a time it was possible to climb it but it started to erode. English Heratage have just completed some 'filling in' work as it was collapsing into some tunnels which a Victorian archeologist dug.

Cherhill, England - 5th August 2008

By: Steve & Helly

Ohh, spooky things have happened in the night and a crop circle has appeared. Some people think crop circles are messages from aliens . . . I'm not so sure!

I climbed up to the left of the crop circle but the view wasn't great. However, I did get a good view of Cherhill white horse and the monument at the top of the hill.

As the view wasn't brilliant, and the climb was quite hard work, I walked along the top of the ridge.

The crop circle is in the second yellow field but it's not very clear in the photo.

Can you see the line of trees at the top of that field? That's where I started my walk!

Some of the walk is over the ancient earth works of an iron age fort. You can see the white horse behind me again.

Avebury, England - 2nd September 2008

By: Steve & Helly

We set off really early in order to be able to park in Avebury before we had to pay!

First stop though was at the Adam and Eve stones. People walking along the path at night have heard someone walking along behind them. When they've turned there's no one there! They've continued walking and the footsteps have overtaken them. As this happens the people have felt a rush of wind, as if someone has walked by.

Avebury, England - 2nd September 2008

Then it was Avebury itself, the first photo is a view of the high street.

Behind the stones in the second photo can you see a building? This is a barn belonging to Avebury Manor.

The Manor is haunted by the ghost of a cavalier soldier. He sits in an upstairs room as if waiting for his loved one. People know when he's been as there's a very strong smell of roses in the room.

Now I'm off home to America.
