Bzzzzzzz buzz bzzz bzz bzzzzzzzzzz.  I, Bumble, have be-e-e-e-e-en her-r-re with my firs-z-z-z-z-t hos-z-z-z-z-z-t for a couple of weeks-z-z-z-z now.  S-z-z-z-z-he s-z-z-z-z-ays-z-z-z-z to tell you that my acc-z-z-z-z-z-ent will be-e-e-e-e-come less-z-z-z-z-z and less-z-z-z-z-z notice-z-z-z-z-z-able as-z-z-z I get more practic-z-z-e at s-z-z-peaking people.

We've done s-z-z-ome fun things-z-z but not as-z-z many as-z-z Szzu wanted --s-z-he's-z having surgery on her arm Monday and she's been bus-z-z-y as a drone lately.

Here is-z a picture of me with one of Su's-z drone.  You won't believe this but humans-z give names to their drones!  How does she ever keep up with them all, I'll never know!

This-z is the Crown Princess-z.  She was a bit afraid of me at first, as you can s-z-ee, but soon realized I am not a threat.

My hostess-z took me with her when she went to something called the "dentist's office".  She couldn't take pictures while the woman and the man in a white coat were doing things in her mouth.  And some people think bees are loud -- that office was full of loud sounds, whirrs and buzzs, mostly!  At first, I thought it might be a swarm somewhere, but my hostess-z explained machinery to me.  It was interes-z-ting, but she was glad to leave.

My hostess-z decided it was time to introduce me to some of the other inhabitants of the house.  There is a swarm of three of these things in the house.

That one is the prettiest, I think, though.

That's all for now.  We're going to a school carnival, whatever that is, tomorrow night or Saturday, so we'll update again after that.

S-s-s-z-z-z-o long!

at Melissa'a place, Malaysia - 9th January 2008

By: spicebunny

Ahhhh.... fresh air!!!

I was sitting in the mailbox when I heard this cricking noise. Melissa was rushing home from the rain and found me waiting patiently in the mailbox. *Buzz*

It was raining pretty heavily so I just wandered around her place. It's a small nice quaint place and I love the atmosphere. Her cousin was visiting her too, and I got to meet her. *Buzz*

Melissa had this funky dragon so I thought it would be cool to pose with it. I was afraid it would bite me because the teeths were sharp but it ignored me. Humph!

And like a bee that I am, I posed with some flowers her fiance brought for her. I think the flowers were sweet!

I also met some shy and ever watchful koalas! They are so far away from Australia! And look! Behind me, you can see the rain! A little guy like me might get helplessly lost with that sort of rain.

And I also met my fellow TV's friends! They were all friendly and asked if I knew Majed but I don't. *buzz* They were sad because they really have not heard any news from him yet. They also said I was one brave little bee to be travelling so far away from home.

Oh, Melissa said she would bring me to her class next week! *buzz* I am excited!

Asia Cafe, Malaysia - 12th January 2008

By: spicebunny

Melissa was a little silly last night. She decided to go out and eat in a cafe near her place around 1 am. I found out it was a very *buzz* busy place. Does anyone sleep at 1 am?! Food was everywhere and you can see people around, talking, eating, drinking!

I hav not found any honey for me though :(

Night shots! As you can see behind me, there are people (possibly zombies like Melissa and her fiance) who wandered around to look for food!

They decided to eat satay. It's thin slices of meat (chicken, mutton or beef) which is sweet and roasted while being stabbed by some thin and small stick for a short while.

They offered me a stick but I declined because it's a lot for a small bee like me! *buzz* And the sauce was a little spicy... and nutty.

Ohh ... I might be going to the twin [Petronas] towers or KL Tower and some park tomorrow. Hopefully it is not raining tomorrow!

Lake Gardens, Malaysia - 13th January 2008

By: spicebunny

Hi again!

It's raining when Melissa and her fiance brought me to Lake Garden. I think Malaysia is one rainy country!!! However, I love the flower/herb garden that Melissa found. It was sort-of-under-refurbishing, but there were many things for me to see. However, the trip had to be cut shot because it was raining. *buzz*

Bamboo tree! My host told me that they make furnitures with that tree. Imagine that! *buzz* She also informed me that they make fishing rod with bamboo. However, you would not believe it when I tell you that she has this bamboo which she stores all her spare coin in it! It's rather pretty - appearently, the design was handcrafted by ethnic tribe from the state she originally comes from. *buzz*

I don't mind the rain much, I rather stay in the house when it happens though. *buzz* My poor wings!

Check out that flower! That is a flower, which Melissa admits she has no idea what it is called.

And now, I am posing with all the pretty pinks around me!

See you later! *buzz*

PS: I have not met her classmates yet.

Grand Junction, Colorado, USA - 18th April 2008

By: wourpet

Well here I am back in the USA and it was a pretty fast flight from Japan.  Of course I didn't fly on my own -- I used a big jet but I got here before the glue on my envelope was dry!

As soon as I flexed my wings after I got out of the mail box I checked out the orchard.
Being a pollinator I was quite attracted to the scents I was noticing around the yard.

Right next to the walkway were several daffodils.

I was eager to buzz my way into as many as I could -- its what pollinators do.

and then I got a sniff of some very sweet smelling flower and darted into that one like it had me on a rope.

My host finally found me there and brought me into the house.  She said I will love it over the next couple weeks because the orchard is starting to bloom.

Grand Junction, CO, USA - 27th April 2008

By: wourpet

I am sorry I haven't been posting but I have been busy as a bee for the last week. I have been pollinating!  The tree I picked out was huge and I have been at it all week.

Today wourpet said I could move onto the orchard and let the ornamental tree alone.

In the Cherry blossoms I ran into some other bee's that were busy polinating too!

This is a cherry tree too but with pink blossoms.

I found a few early apple blossoms too.

Then when I left I checked back to see if I had missed anything.

And then I spotted this huge cherry tree in the neighbours yard.  I guess I'lll be back in a few days.

Tibipanda arrived today and met me and Snuggles.  I leave tomorrow for Miami so I took them outside to see what I have been doing.

I asked them to fly up into a big tree to help pollinate but Snuggles and TibiPanda climbed the tree instead.

Homestead, FL, USA - 9th May 2008

By: tarepanda

I arrived in Miami already!! It's such nice weather here.
Today we go to the farmers market in Homestead.

Look at all the nice selection.  It makes me feel very happy.  The bags hanging up there are Mexican spices.  There are a lot of Mexicans living in Homestead as farm workers so there are lots of Mexican restaurants and grocery stores here.

These are cactus leaves.

Lots of bananas!  In sizes from a foot long to as short as your fingers.

These zucchinis look really interesting!!

Miami Beach, Florida, USA - 17th May 2008

By: tarepanda

We are in Miami, so naturally we have to visit the beach.

First we see this white statue.  Only that it moves.  It gives us quite a scare, until our host tells us that she is a real person painted white to look like a status.

We find this alligator head in a souvenir shop.  Being a brave bee I go to inspect its teeth.

We then walk towards the beach.

Wow what a wide beach!

And turning the other way we can see the buildings facing the ocean.

This is the Atlantic Ocean.  Very nice beach indeed.

Being Miami there are a lot of palm trees!  Here I am with my new friend, Groovy.

Next we walk down to Ocean Drive.  This is a famous street that shows up a lot in postcards and movies, renowned for the Art Deco buildings.  Like the pastel cute ones you see here.

And here's a famous landmark on Ocean Drive.  This house is where Versace, a very well-known designer (so I was told... I am not into fashion, you know...) once lived, and got killed.  He was shot to death at the door steps right there one morning when he walked home from breakfast.

Weston, Florida, USA - 25th May 2008

By: tarepanda

Today we go to the Supercon, a convention for comics and animations.

There are a lot of vendors.  This booth sells swords.

The owner tells us that the swords sell up to $3000! And we are never supposed to touch a blade as it will permanently stain the blade.  I won't want to mess with a sword anything...

Here is a booth with lots of toys.

And here's an aspiring artist.  There are lots of artists here selling their work.

We see a lot of people dressed up like movie or anime characters.  Wow, it's like Halloween in summer.

We meet some VIP!! Guess who they are?  They are actors from the Harry Potter movies!

This is the girl who play Tonks.

And Seamus.

Here is at the Q&A session.  From left, Collin, Tonks, Angelina Johnson, (one of the Qudditch players) and Seamus.  They are not the real names of course...  It was fun as the audience asks a lot of weird questions.

Brickell Key, Florida, USA - 31st May 2008

By: tarepanda

Today we go to a dragon boat festival.  In China, Dragon Boat Festival is one of the three major holidays, along with New Year and Mid Autumn Festival.  On this day, the villagers will hold races in boats and eat a special dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves.

Today, dragon boat is a sport that is popular around the world.  The Miami race is held today and our host's team is participating.

It's a nice day to be out!

I spot the dragon boats on the water.  This is a mini boat, which only seats ten paddlers.  The standard size you see in the US seats 20, and in China there are boats that seats 50 or even 100 people, two in a row!

Here are the men teams loading into the boat.  They all look very strong!

We watch the race from the bridge.

There are a lot of booths selling different things.

Look, some cute animal puppets!

Yikes, scary looking walking stick!

Wow!  A beautiful kimono from Japan.  The vendor tells us that it's a wedding kimono.  I think any bride will look love in it.

Here are some pots made from coconut in the shape of Flamingo, a tropical bird popular in Florida (as a motif, not that you can see them anywhere except in zoos).

This juice stand is very pretty!

This is the display of trophies for the event.

Oh here comes the dragon dance.

There are some stage performance: Chinese acrobats, martial arts, singing, and this one is a Thai dance.

As it's a hot day, after the race, the teams have a water melon eating contest.  Ready?

It's really fun to watch!

Our team, Puff, does fairly good.  Here are the trophies we've won!  We are really proud!

Key Biscayne, Florida, USA - 1st June 2008

By: tarepanda

After the race, we help the organizer brings the boats from the race venue back to their training center.

We string the boats together and a motor boat tows them.  It's almost like a train!  The dragon head and tail decoration has been taken off already.

The view of the bay is simply gorgeous.

Look, there are the cruise ships at the Port of Miami.  Those ships are from Carnival Cruise.  They look really big indeed.

We pass by a marina, where boats are stocked all stacked up.

We see some jet skiers.

Looks like we've arrived!

Mission accomplished!  The seat we are sitting on is actually the drummer seat, where during a race the drummer will beat on a drum so the paddlers can be synchronized.

I realize I have sat in a boat.  But I didn't really travel anywhere.  So I wonder if I can say I have completed my mission as well?

I think Miami is a very beautiful place.

Here they are moving the boats back into the boathouse and keep safe till next time.

Miami, Florida, USA - 9th June 2008

By: tarepanda

Today I join my host in a BookCrossing meeting.  She tell us that BookCrossing is kind of like ToyVoyagers but instead of toys travelling around they send books.  I don't understand why books want to go sightseeing.  But apparently it is very popular.

Here we are with the books that want to travel.

This bakery has a nice selection of pictures!

And needless to say, a collection of pastries!  I want all!

We put the books in a basket so patrons of the shop can pick up a book, and hopefully they will make a journal entry so we know where the books are now.
