Yumi told me that we're going somewhere today.

I waited for her with Florence, Mara-Joy, Mocha and Pussy Galore in her bag.

We visited Kanazawa 21st museum where was opened in 2004.

When we were walking at the museum, we found a swimming pool.

Why is a swimming pool here? We thought...
The next moment, we all were very surprised that some people were standing in the swimming pool. WHY???

YAY!! I'm under the swimming pool!!

According to the leaflet...
Swimming Pool designed by Leandro Erlich (so we call it Leandro's pool)
A layer of water above thick glass forms a border, through which people above encounter people below (inside the pool)

I felt very strange...but it was fun!

After we enjoyed the museum, we visited another one named Kanazawa Folklore museum.

The building of the museum built in 1899 was once used as a school. At present a junior high school is built next to the museum.

Unfortunately the museum isn't allowed photography...
(Yumi told me she could take picrures when she visited here last year)
We were only taken in front of the museum.

The last photo is the leaflet for the museum.

Today the weather was bad...so we couldn't take many photos, but I visited Higashi Chaya District where some old Japanese houses which Geisha girls had worked at were conserved.

The two houses named 'Shima' and 'Kaika-ro' were opened generally (People live in the rest of the houses), but unluckly we didn't have enough time to watch.

It was St.Valentine's day today.
In Japan girls/women give chocolates to boys/men, but Yumi gave me a small chocolate. It was so sweet.

We got some snow, so we decided to play with it today!

We climbed a snow mountain and went into a snow hole.
We enjoyed playing with snow!

After that, we got cold and relaxed in front of an oil-heater.

Nankan, Taiwan - 26th May 2008

By: icitaiwan

Yeah..... I have arrived in Taiwan, at last! It was so hot in my envelope, aweful!

The weather here was sunny, hot, and humid. I've never felt this kind of weather before in my whole life. My new host, Andrea, told me that I'll get used to it. I really doubt that, so from now on I'm going to take a shower 3 times a time....to cool down a bit.

Anyway... I got out of my envelope checked out my new place. I was happy to find out that I'm not the only cat in the house and even better....there aren't any dogs!

I met the other cats right away. This is me with Obi-Wan Kenobi, a British Shorthair. He loves to eat and sleep, are you surprised  ;)?

The other cat, Timer didn't want to make a picture with me. Maybe I'll try it again at a later time  :p.

I'm having a wonderful time in Taiwan. I have visited several places already, but my host Andrea is very busy lately, so she doesn't have much time to upload my pictures and tell you all about my adventures.

So mommy.....don't worry....I love it here and guess what....I'm getting used the weather, too :)

Many people in Taiwan live in an apartment building and those apartment buldings are often part of a community. Here are some pictures of me in the community where I am staying now

My host's mailbox. She usually finds many postcards in this mailbox, because she loves to swap postcards

I felt so hungry and decided to go for a walk in the neighborhood.
I crossed the square that's located on the back of my host's community and saw....

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/4318fccb.jpg

A shopping mall!!!! What a great location to live. Now I know where I am spending my free time when Andreá is working  B)

The first impression wasn't bad at all

Don't think that they only sell Chinese food in Taiwan, because they don't. Nowadays you can find more and more western food and western chain stores in Taiwan.

So...........I decided to try the food and drinks of "Subway" and "Starbucks". Just to see if the taste is different here  :D

I found a perfect place to eat my lunch
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/24cf6f99.jpg

Yummy....a delicious "Java Chip Chocolat" frappuchino.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/a57acfae.jpg

Now it's time to eat

After I was finished I explored the world while I took a rest on my back...

Taipei, Taiwan - 7th June 2008

By: icitaiwan

Today I went to Taipei and the first place visited was the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. Nowadays it's renamed into Taiwan National Democracy Hall, due to a political "game", but many people still name it CKS Memorial Hall.

The memorial hall was built to honour president Chiang Kai-Shek, and was opened in 1980.
You can read more about this place here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiang_Kai-shek_Memorial_Hall

Here I am with the memorial hall. Isn't it huge?
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/67832452.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/d2254eb2.jpg

And we climbed the 89 stemps up (and down :p) to check the view.
Those 89 steps symbolizes the age of Chiang Kai-Shek hen he died.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/2e313307.jpg

Here is the view, not bad, right?
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/402fb756.jpg

The gate at the end is the main entrance of the memorial park. The building on the left is the National Theater and the building on the right is the National Concert Hall. The whole area is surrounded by a park

OK....I felt hungry and thirsty (again), so I decided to check out the vending machines
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/8c10abfc.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/eee0b0bf.jpg

I also saw these beautiful flowers.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/951aae13.jpg

Here I am with the main gate
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/icitaiwan/c3a17da6.jpg

And an overview of the whole park
