Hi there! I am in the Handicraft village. It's one of the must visit places if you come to imajica's hometown Kota Bharu. It's a nice area with buildings of traditional architecture like this one at the back and they are museum, shops and restaurants in one place! They display and sell handicraft stuff as souvenir here. Lots to see! imajica buys her postcards from shops here too!

Here is the Sultan Ismail square, where this infamous arch is located. Tourists who come to Kelantan usually drop by here as it's the center of Kota Bharu town and many of tourists attractions are nearby, like old palaces, the state mosque, museums, and world war memorials.

Okay, here's the Jahar palace in this square. It has a really traditional timber architecture (but has been renovated with bricks and all at the back). It's now also a museum, specifically displaying stuff related to Malay Royal custom and tradition.

Paris, France - 9th March 2009
By: octabis
FINALLY !
I just arrived in Paris ... That was a long trip ! I don't really know where I've been to, but it's been a long time since I saw daylight !
But Paris looks nice. i haven't been visiting yet, but I'm really eager to see everything !
I already saw a church, right in the street of the post office.
It looked a little dirty, but this is my first french church, the sky is blue, and I'm in Paris, so i'm not complaining at all
Too bad imajica isn't here to see that.
We have to go back to Val's flat, but she promised me I will visit soon !

By: octabis
Time for my first trip out !
I've started to visit the neighbourhood, where I met a big women !
She symbolise the Republic, and this is a big place in Paris.
Then Val took me to one of her favorite place: The St Martin Canal. No matter when or at what season, she says it's always so pretty. It looked so already, and I guess I will have to go back to check.

Paris, France - 11th March 2009
By: octabis
New day out. It was nice and sunny, and we needed to go to the opposite side of Paris, so intead of taking the subway we went walking.
And everything started with a door. I've learned that before, Paris was inside a fortification wall, now all was destroyed, but some parts are still here like this door.
then we saw a few churches, and a mysterious big building, which appeared to be Europe largest synagogue.
And the last picture show a place Val knows well, it was her high school. But not like any regular high school, because this one has a big glass roof that was built by mister Eiffel ... yes, this one, the one of the tower ! She was happy to show me this !
Paris seems great, and I'm sure there is still so much more to see !

Finally ! After the week in Paris, it's week end !
And we're going on a trip !
I don't know where yet, but we're talking the train !
And not a regular train, a TGV, which is the fastest train in the world !
It's even written on it, it can go at 574, 8 km/h
I spent the whole time looking out by the window. It sure was fast !

strasbourg, France - 13th March 2009
By: octabis
And we're in ... Strasbourg !
Beautiful city in the East of France.
We first went to put our backpacks in the hotel, then time for visits !
It was also the first time their for Valerie.
The old historic town is on a river. Most of the houses are typicall as you can see on the pictures.
In the morning, we visited the Cathedral, wandered in the streets, then time for lunch.
Then, we took a boat trip on the Ill, which is the river that goes across Strasbourg.
We saw lots of great places, including the European parlement.
Then back on the island for more sightseeing, and ended in the old hospital. You can see me there with liters and liters of wine
Alsacian wines are really famous, and years and years ago, it was used to cure some diseases.
The oldest of theses barrels dates from 1400 !
Way much older than me !
Then time to go back to the hotel and sleep, day was exhausting, and we still have lots to see tomorrow !
