And then we visited some monuments: the "Berner Müster", the Aar, the river of Bern and the "Zytglogge" where we met a lot of tourists from Japan!

Fribourg, Switzerland - 27th August 2007
By: swiss_sunshine
Before Jan goes to Yumi in Japan, we decided to see a last time the city where he was born. First of all, we saw the wonderful old part of Fribourg which has been built during the Middle-Age. We went to see the tower of the cathedrale St-Nicolas, symbol of our city.
Jan is now in Japan, I hope he's doing well!

Ishikawa, Japan - 3rd September 2007
By: yumi
Yay!! I arrived at Yumi's house in Japan safely today.
She held a teddy bear party for me tonight.
I was warmly welcomed by Yumi and some bears.
I met a bear called Felix who came from Austria and is traveling the world.
We talked a lot and ate cookies, candies, and chips.
Then, I met some others.
I can't wait for a new adventure in Japan!!

Kanazawa, Japan - 11th September 2007

I visited Kanazawa 21st century museum.
I sat a silver comfortable chair in front of the museum.
I went to a tea ceremony house.
The Japanese-style house is very different from European one!

The whole museum was covered by morning glory ivies.
It looked like a natural curtain.
I went to Leandro's swimming pool, but unfortunately the inside of the pool was closed. Nobody wasn't there... If people were under the pool, it would be interesting!
I went to Turrel's room. The room was open. When I looked up the ceiling, the sky was no cloud and very blue.

Kanazawa, Japan - 11th September 2007
By: yumi
Then, I visited a Japanese garden named Kenrokuen.
The garden was very old and big. The garden has various trees and flowers all the year.
The sunshine was still beated me, but the arbors and the sounds of running water in the river made me cooled down.
1)Ganko-bashi (Flying Wild Geese) Brigde.
2)The fountain is the oldest in Japan.
3)Kotoji-toro lantern which was most famous place in the garden.
4)This statue is Prince Takeru Yamato who was a Japanese mythological hero.
5)Hanami-bashi bridge.
In spring we can see beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom along the bridge.

more Kenrokuen!
Kenrokuen has some ponds and old houses(buildings)
I relaxed there.
I saw three men was working by the tree. Two of them cut some branches of the pine tree on the boat. It was interesting!

Then, I went to Ishikawa-mon gate next to Kenrokuen.
The bridge that I'm standing at on the photo is called Ishikawa Bridge.
I went through the gate and went to Kanazawa Castle Park.
However, 'Kanazawa Castle' hasn't been built here anymore.
Two turrels and two armories are built at the park.

Higashi chaya district is near Asano River.
Geisha girls used to work there.
Some old architecture has been preserved.
The red house is used as a Japanese restaurant
The brown cartain was made of bamboo and reed is used to protect from strong sunshine in the summer.
