Heinrichshagen, Germany - 28th September 2015
By: mcdaniels
In the afternoon we took a first walk into the forest. We took a rest between a group of very nice fly agarics and we felt like in a fairy-tale forest
On our way back home we saw lots of apple trees with hundrets of apples. Hostmum said this year there are a lot of apples in Germany.

Hi mum,
the next morning I took an early walk with Gianna. It was a bit foggy and the forest looked very mysterious...

Heinrichshagen, Germany - 29th September 2015

In the afternoon we took a walk to the Ebersnackenturm, a really high tower made of wood. Before climbing up I assured that the screws inspired confidence
After climbing lots and lots of steps we had a great view!!
On a slab many towns and distances to these towns and places were engraved. Hostmum showed me the distance to Dortmund, her birthplace and to London.
And guess what, I could look down without feeling dizzy!!
All the best

Kirchbrak, Germany - 30th September 2015
By: mcdaniels
Hi mum,
in the afternoon we walked to Kirchbrak a village near Heinrichshagen for going shopping. We walked through a forest, have a look at the big old trees, mum! I found an acorn and a chestnut
In Kirchbrak we studied the map of walks and the information board standing next to the very old church of Kirchbrak.
Back home in the evening we tried a part of Störte's 'Food for the journey'
Very best wishes
yours Sansone

Heinrichshagen, Germany - 1st October 2015
By: mcdaniels
Dear mum,
today we took a long walk round Heinrichshagen and Kirchbrak.
It was a great sunny day and we enjoyed the walk very much, have a look!
We met some typical German cows, visited another tower (unfortunately closed) and saw the Ebersnacken-Tower far away.
The last picture shows fern, typical for German forests.
See you yours Sansone

Bodenwerder, Germany - 2nd October 2015
By: mcdaniels
Hi mum,
on the way back to Paderborn we stopped in Bodenwerder, birthtown of baron von Münchhausen who lived in the 18th century and was famous for lots of packs of lies, for example the story of flying on a cannon ball...
After visiting Münchhausen's house of birth I got a souvenir
Finally we said goodbye to river Weser and drove home. We had great holidays!

Bad Lippspringe, Germany - 28th October 2015
By: mcdaniels
Today we took a cycle tour to the house of a friend of hostmum who lives in the middle of a forest together with her husband and lots of saved animals: five dogs (Don is the biggest dog I've ever seen...), five cats, ten sheep, two gooses, ten hens, a cock and Anton the pig. They can live there as long as they want...great!
I introduced myself to all of them and we had a lot of fun
