Bad Lippspringe, Germany - 8th September 2015
By: mcdaniels
Dear mum,
yesterday evening we drove to a Thai Restaurant in Bad Lippspringe, a small town near Paderborn. In the car I got to know two enthusiastic football fans (Borussia Dortmund and Hamburger SV, unfortunately no Bologna FC supporters ) who live in hostparent's car and are always on the road..) Of course we talked about football the whole way.
In the restaurant I first chose a dish before exploring the furnishings...
The dish was very yummy: vegetarian spring rolls and rice with vegetables and tofu Unfortunately the Ramazzotti was sold out this evening (hostmum loves Ramazzotti ) but the owner of the restaurant promised to buy new one the next day...
Hope you're fine mum,
yours Sansone

Paderborn, Germany - 9th September 2015

Hi mum,
yesterday hostmum, Gianna and me went on a cycling tour: hostmum cycled, Gianna ran and I was driven around
We took a rest at river Beke but I don't like water as much as Gianna
Then we passed a tunnel.
We drove on the viaduct way and I asked myself why it was called this way but suddenly we saw a great railway bridge: the small viaduct that belongs to Neuenbeken, hostmum's home village which is a district of Paderborn.
Hostmum promised to come back and whatch the viaduct when the sky is blue
All the best yours Sansone

And so we did today, a great sunny day
First we climbed up a lookout tower and after that we looked at the viaduct from close to.
Hostmum said that this so called small viaduct has got a big brother in Altenbeken a small town next to Neuenbeken and of course we'll visit it!

Friedrichskoog, Germany - 19th September 2015
By: mcdaniels
Dear mum,
we are on holiday in Friedrichskoog at the North Sea!
On the first pictures you can see the hose we live in for one week.
On our first day we took a walk on a narrow dam that leads to Friedrichskoog's little lighthouse. It was great to see the ocean... have a look!!
Back at the dyke we found a big Stone with an inscription: at this place runs the 54th northern latitude.
See you soon yours Sansone

Hi mum,
today we walked on the dyke that protects the land from the sea. Hundreds of sheeps live on the dyke from spring to autumn. In a ditch I discovered a crab
Back from the dyke I met a gigantic worm and I was captain on a ship
All the best Sansone

Today afternoon we had teatime in a nice café next to the dyke. I studied the menu and decided to drink original Friesian black tea and eat two pieces of cake. Yummy!

After eating and drinking we took a walk on the Trischendamm, a dam that leads two kilometres into the North Sea. But guess what, there was no water in the Sea today
Every hundred metres there was a stone that showed how many metres we've covered. Without water we could see many shells lying there...
We studied many signs with explanations regarding plants and animals in and at the North Sea.

Today we wanted to visit the seal station Friedrichskoog is famous for. In this station little seals which have lost their mother or which are found sick and helpless are reared and later set free in the North Sea.
Unfortunalety in the station there were no dogs allowed so we only could have a look outside and visited the tower and the nice paintings.
See you

Hi mum,
today I learned two things: it is important to look where you drive and Schleswig-Holstein is the state of cabbage. Millions of cabbages are growing here!!

Guess what, mum, when we came back to the Trischendamm today afternoon the water was back in the North Sea!
Störte explained me the mystery of the tides: low tide-no water, high tide-water.
It was great to look at the waves...

Hi mum,
today we took a walk on the dyke again. The weather was great: sunny and windy - the typical weather at the North Sea Störte said.
After enjoying the sun in a wicker beach we all were impressed by the great sunset

And now it's time to say goodbye to the North Sea.
After visiting the windmill hostparents got married years ago we took a last look at the Sea. It's been a great time in Friedrichskoog!
Love you

And this is our crew:
Lille, Augustin, Hauke, me, Josef and Mefito.
Störte didn't want to come with us, the Weser Uplands are only for landlubbers, he said. But as you can see later he has given us parts of his special stock
