Olsker, Denmark - 22nd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello, can you see me in the red plant?

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0063.jpg

There are 4 Round Churches on Bornholm – this is the Sankt Ols Kirke.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0065.jpg

It was exciting. We climbed up these stairs.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0068.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0069.jpg

Later it became steeper, very – and dark.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0072.jpg

This is the altar.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0077.jpg

I liked the painting on the ceiling.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0081.jpg

The church and the bell tower looked so beautiful!

Hammershus, Denmark - 22nd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

The fortress Hammerhus looked great – it is only a ruin now, but worth a visit.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0090.jpg

We had a nice view from this point.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0093.jpg

The fortress was really big, I think. You still can see it today.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0099.jpg

It looks great over there. I will have a closer look.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0100.jpg

Really beautiful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0107.jpg

This was my famous view of the fortress.

Sandvig, Denmark - 22nd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

This is the Port of  Sandvig.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0114.jpg

You can see two big hotels next to it.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0115.jpg

We drove to Madsebakke. There were nice scratichings in the rock. You can see a ship here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0120.jpg

A better view here – it is a ship out of the Bronze Age.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0130.jpg

I have no idea, where these circles stand for.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0131.jpg

On the way home we stopped at the cliffs Helligdomsklipperne.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0133.jpg

Dondalen, Denmark - 26th May 2017

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

look  behind me – you see Denmark's highest waterfall – Dondalen.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0392.jpg

It wasn't that impressive – but it was a nice walk to reach it.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0395.jpg

Here you see the small river, behind the waterfall.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0397.jpg

I found a really big mushroom.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0400.jpg

The bear's garlic bloomed.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0406.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0404.jpg

We liked it here.

Svaneke, Denmark - 26th May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

Svaneke shall be one of the most beautiful towns in Denmark. Well – this bay looked nice.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0412.jpg

There were 4 chimneys of a smokehouse. This is typical for Bornholm.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0411.jpg

The market place.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0416.jpg

There were some old and colorful houses.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0419.jpg

Then we walked to the port.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0422.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0425.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0428.jpg

Svaneke is a nice small town – but hopefully not the most beautiful town of Denmark…

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0432.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0434.jpg

It was time to show our holiday home. It was big enough for all of us here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0383.jpg

A great living-room…

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0367.jpg

…and a nice kitchen.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0373.jpg

Do you know what this is? It was the start of a wasps' nest

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0377.jpg

These were our favorite places – we could sit here and watch TV, or turn around and look into the beautiful garden.

Distillery District, Toronto, Canada - 12th June 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

I am in Canada at the moment. It was hot in Toronto – very high temperature. Nevertheless we wanted to see something. This is one of the most beautiful churches in Toronto – the St.-James-Kathedrale.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0045.jpg

I liked the interior, too.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0050.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0054.jpg

Look – the St. Lawrence Market.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0056.jpg

Then we arrived at the Distillery District. Here you see many industrial buildings out of the Victorian time.  Many bridal pairs come to this place to take photos. Maybe this is the reason for this heart.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0060.jpg

A carriage with some barrels.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0063.jpg

Well – it looked like it was in the Past – only the high buildings were not here in that time.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0066.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0069.jpg

This house was so beautiful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0072.jpg

Can you see, what this is? Right – so many padlocks, put here by pairs in love. You can see things like this all over the world, I think.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0075.jpg

The Distillery District is famous for movies or commercials. Today it was a commercial for Pizza.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0077.jpg

It was exciting - I met a player of Toronto's baseball team.

Niagara Falls, Canada - 14th June 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

What a beautiful place. I visit the Niagara-Falls. Behind me you see the US-Fall.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0139.jpg

There is the Canadian fall – it seems to be wider.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0145.jpg

It looked so beautiful!

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0150.jpg

We went behind the falls – well – this view wasn't that exciting. But it was very loud – and I felt the power of the water.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0155.jpg

Then we went onto a great viewing-platform.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0162.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0167.jpg

It was very wet – you see the people with the yellow ponchos. Thank you Rike that you took photos, although your camera got wet…

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0168.jpg

Our last stop were the rapids. The walk was called White Water Walk – and the view was so beautiful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0185.jpg

I learnt about rapids – there are 6 grades for it. These have the number 6 – the most dangerous rapids.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0188.jpg

You cannot see on the photo, how fast the water moved.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Can-0192.jpg

It was a great day here.

Dicker Kumpels Birthday, Canada - 21st June 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

A short review of Dicker Kumpel's birthday. We sang a song for him – then he got some gifts. A funny guy who glow in the dark – and someone who can climb on walls. Great.

Later we sat in front of a fireplace.

Trois-Rivieres, Canada - 21st June 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

Time to see the artists from Dicker Kumpel's birthday. The first guy walked down the wall.

We had a nice party with a drink and popcorn while we waited that it will get dark. And then we saw the funny green glowing boy. This was great!

Val-Jalbert , Canada - 25th June 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

I was in Val-Jalbert. It was a paper mill in the past. It was a ghost town for some years – and now it is a kind of museum. There are beautiful water falls here, nice gorges, and interesting old buildings – some are restored – some are ruins.
