Travelog for: Hollandia

Emjay's place, Delft, Netherlands - 30th May 2014

By: Emjay

Hi all!
I'm Hollandia, a cute stay-at-home ToyVoyager. I'd love to meet and greet new TV's and show them my wonderful hometown. When I've met at least 100 TV's, I will go off and travel on my own.

Big hug,

Hollandia, your friendly hostess

So this is where I come from: a big department store in Delft. You can see me with my brothers and sisters. I'm the one trying to escape.

On the way home in Emjay's car I have a very important job to do: minding the strawberries!

This is my home for now: Emjay's place in Delft. I meet Fancy Pearl, one of Emjay's three cats, in the garden. Aw! She's cute! Just like me  ;)

Delft, Netherlands - 31st May 2014

Hi everyone!
Today I showed my friends a less known part of Delft. It's north from the center.
We started at windmill "The Rose", the only surviving windmill of Delft. It was built in the 17th century.
A few years ago the windmill was lifted 1 meter off the ground. That was necessary for the building of a tunnel beneath the windmill. When the work is done, the windmill will be replaced at it's original spot.

In the sixties the drinking water in Delft was bad. The city council provided the inhabitants with fresh drinking water of a good quality. Outof gratitude the inhabitants donated this monument to the city of Delft.

"Here rests Louis XVII" it says on the tombstone. But that's not true! Karl Naundorff is buried here. He was an imposter who claimed he was Louis XVII. If you like to know more about this mysterious man, please follow this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Wilhelm_Naundorff
