Hi Galiya apa!
Suomi-Girl will almost leave us. Too bad...
Emjay prepaired a surprise for her: a visit to the Royal Delft museum. Here you can see how Delft Blue pottery is made.

The most impressive piece in the museum: Rembrandt's Nightwatch made of Delft Blue tiles. Wow!
Suomi-Girl enjoyed the surprise very much.
Write to you again soon!
Bye!

Hi Galiya apa!
It's been rainig for some time, so we didn't go out much. Here are two pics from some days ago, when the weather was better.
Keep your fingers crossed for better weather!

Hi Galliya apa!
You crossed your fingers very well! The sun came out today! We met a new TV in the garden. She's called Hollandia and she's a stay-at-home TV.

Hi again!
We had a real statue and monument day. Our new friend Hollandia showed us another part north of the city center of Delft.
We started at the only windmill that survived in Delft. It is called "The Rose".

This is the watertower. It's not used to supply water anymore. Nowadays it's a congres centre.

In the sixties there was a period when the water was very bad in Delft. The city council handed out fresh drinking water to the inhabitants. To thank the city, the inhabitants donated this monument.

"Here rests Louis XVII" the stone says. But that's not true! Karl Naundorff was buried here. He was an imposter who claimed he wat Louis XVII. If you like to know more, click on this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Wilhelm_Naundorff

This is a statue of former Queen Wilhelmina who reigned during the second World War. She was the great-grandmother of King Willem Alexander.
