Hello everybody! = Hei Kaikki!!!

I'm here to tell the most exciting news: Today I arrived in Finland!!!

I traveled safely. I was not sure was the chocolate for me or for the host. I decided to keep it for my host  And she became very happy about the sweet present 

First of all: my host drinks a lot of coffee, that I noticed at the moment I came out from the box 

One of the first things I did at my new home was to say HELLO to a mouse on the desk. Maybe this one is a bit shy because I got no response... 

Just one hour after meeting with my new host she had to run to the school for parents' evening. I insisted to go with her but I had to promise that I will stay in the bag and be quiet like a mouse 

Mum, my host keeps calling me a mouse. You call me a rat. Am I a mouse or a rat? A rodent anyway 

I feel very welcome here. I even got some beautiful welcome flowers 

I'm a bit tired of the traveling. I think I will now go to bed. I can't wait to see how it looks here in the daylight

Now I feel rested  Let my adventures continue!

Finland is a bit cold so my host wanted me to have something warm to wear. First I needed to choose a color. I chose... PINK. Boys can wear pink!!!

Knitting looked like fun... But it was not easy, I got mixed to the yarn. After finding my way out I let host finish knitting my scarf. It became so cool  Maybe tomorrow I will go and enjoy the snow...

I did also something else today: I was working with host. Not a typical working day but this is what was going on today... Photographing!

After work we went to a flee market and host found some great things from there. I feel this was not my only visit to a flee market 

This is all from today. It's beginning to be fun here

Hello mum, hello everybody!

Today we were cycling around 

1) We went to see the stairs of Jyväskylä Ridge. And I was able to play in the snow  There is a message for you, mum 

2) As we cycled on we came to the center of Jyväskylä. We saw the Church -Jyväskylän kaupunginkirkko- in the middle of the church park.

3) Just opposite to the church is the City hall. We ended today's tour there

Ystävänpäivä

Here in Finland 14th of February is celebrated as Friends' Day = Ystävänpäivä. Friends send postcards to each other, gather together to drink coffee and eat cakes. They buy flowers and little gifts to each other and just have good time with friends. 

I joined a special postcrossing meeting in a café. That café Muisto is located to a wonderful historical area called Toivolan Vanha Piha, Old quad of Toivola. Take a look at the beautiful old buildings 

After spending some time with friends host and I joined one of host's daughters for shopping an eating in a Nepali Restaurant. Shopping was too long but the restaurant I enjoyed. Food was delicious 

As they say in Finland: HYVÄÄ YSTÄVÄNPÄIVÄÄ! Happy Valentine's Day!

Racing with a turtle

My host received a funny postcard and I got an idea... 

But who actually won the race? Was it me or was it the turtle? Who cares! Roses for both of us. It was a fun race

Nature museum Part 1

Today I climbed up the stairs to the Ridge of Jyväskylä. Up there is Water Castle, a water reserve & a sightseeing tower, restaurant & nature museum 

I saw many interesting things and met even some rodents. None of them was a traveler

Today we visited a neighboring town, Kuopio. Here are some photos from this trip 

In Kuopio the most important thing was to visit IKEA. There I met some other rats, too. After that we were too tired to walk around, we just drove around the old center.

Today we drove to the countryside to visit grandparents. Cool

Today we took a bicycle and coffee with us and cycled around 

We saw the most beautiful bridges of Jyväskylä, speaking stones and we also stopped in a museum area to see some old buildings.
