The Wadden Sea is a special landscape. The ebb and flow of the tides enable you to walk on the seabed without getting wet. During low tide, you can walk far out on to the mud flats or up to the holms and islands. Far from the villages you can watch the constant growth and decay of tidal creeks, sand banks and dunes.

Hamburger Hallig, Germany - 16th June 2013
By: wrath
Hamburger Hallig is an area that is not protected by sea dikes. It is therefore counted among the Halligen islands.
Strictly speaking, Hamburger Hallig is no longer an island because it has been connected to the mainland by the causeway. Today, it adjoins to the floodplains off Sönke-Nissen-Koog, and like the latter it is part of the Reußenköge municipality. Until 1899 though, Hamburger Hallig was administered as an unincorporated estate.
The main Warft is located four kilometres west off the sea dike of Sönke-Nissen-Koog. It does not have a proper name. On it, there are three buildings.

Hanover, Germany - 20th June 2013
By: turtles
Yeah! What a hot and sunny day!
Today our mom took us to a new adventure. We started at Bad Schwartau, where turtles picked us up. Then we met Mondkind at Hamburg and drove to Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony.
Our mom told us, that we go to a postcrossing meet-up. She loves postcards very much, and as it seems, there are more poeple like our mom.
As usual in Hannover, our meeting point was "unterm Schwanz", what means, we met at the front of the Central Station among the Ernst-August-Memorial:
And bit by bit some very cheery people arrived. We heard a lot of laughter. The postcrossers decided to stroll through a shopping street, to buy some postcards. At a stop we realized, that there were other ToyVoyagers. We need a group shot!
(from left to right: Joris, Scritches, RedRudiTeh)
Then we saw a reading owl which worked as wastebin:
For dinner we took place at the Bavarium. While the postcrossers signed a lot of postcards, we talked with the other Toy Voyagers. RedRudiTeh had a lot to report. - Mom, we love Hanover, but we want to see foreign countries!
But first we brace ourselves with a great tarte flambée
Late at night we arrived back at our home and were so tired - but it was a very interesting day.
Thank you mom!

Lueneburg Heath, Germany - 24th August 2013
By: turtles
Hello guys
Friday last week, when we were at work, Anna talked to us, if we would like to join in the First International Toy Voyager Meeting in the Lüneburger Heide (=Lueneburg Heath).
That sounded so bewitching, that we didn't hesitate. We jumped in the backpack of turtles. We know her from a further excursion to Hanover this year.
We started towards Soltau at Saturday morning.
In Soltau turtles met a lot of those crazy people called postcrosser and we waited impatiently for the other travelling toys...
First we visited Soltau and bought - you guess right - postcards:
Here we met some "Landsknechte" - they are very tall ...
Then we went to Behringen in the Heath. Look at these postcard. How nice. Another Tommy and Annika...
The postcrossers were busy with their postcards, so we had time to look around. The Lueneburg Heath was blooming so beautiful:
This is our meet-up group photo:
We had a lot of fun and met a lot of interesting travelling toys. Especially Zottel, a very handsome and charming bear reported a lot of adventures.
But the main theme, of course, was F. M. Baer's kidnapping in the Iran. Turtles told us, that she will pay each ransom money and that she think (and hope), he is alright
That was a wonderful day and we enjoy it very much.
See you soon ...
