I CYCLE JYVÄSKYLÄ
Yesterday a cycling week begun here. I also wanted to join and my host found a bicycle of my size. I cycled around and here are some pictures of me in Church Park, in front of the city hall, near the bridge (the man swinging under the bridge is actually a statue ), in the harbour, near a fairy tale castle and by the channel. Traveling Teddy joined me. It was so fun to cycle!

A walk in a forest
Today in the afternoon we took a walk in a forest. Spring is the time of growing and blossoming... I saw lots of trees, flowers, caves and a stream. I heard lots of birds singing and got stung by a mosquito

Toivolan vanha piha -The old Quad of Toivola
This area is like a museum with boutiques and cafes. I had a cup of coffee with a macaroon and looked around the lovely quad.

Kissankello -Story of the bluebells
In Toivolan Vanha Piha I went to a exhibition of patchwork. One lady has made some touch books for blind. Here is the story of bluebells, which is in Finnish a fairy tale of clever mice who decided to hang a bell around cat's neck... And how cats and mice became enemies...
More about this exhibition later...

Around the town
As we walked around the town we saw many interesting places and happenings...
Restaurant Day means that whoever can put up a restaurant where ever for one day. We saw many restaurants and ate Fruit Candies in one of them
We looked at a couple of statues. Uno Cygnaeus (1810- 1888- ) was a Finnish clergyman, educator, and chief inspector of the country's school system. He is considered the father of the Finnish public school system.
Minna Canth (1844-1897) was a Finnish writer and social activist. Canth began to write while managing her family draper's shop and living as a widow raising seven children. Minna Canth is the first woman to receive her own flag day in Finland, starting on 19 March 2007. It is also the day of social equality in Finland.
On the way we also saw The Old Vicarage of Jyväskylä (built 1927), the Town Hall (1899) and the City Church (1880) and there was also a wedding at that moment. After that we went to see the Pekka Ervast -temple (1927).
And that was not all...

Speaking stones
This is what the stones are saying:
1. Hear me
2. Free your mind
3. Balance
4. I would always love you gently
5. Live your dream
6. Possibility for the future would remain
I really like these speaking stones!

Viherlandia Garden Center and a Fairytale Castle
I have been many times before in this garden center, this time I'm lucky to have some photos there. And just next to it is the Fairytale Castle I once saw from distance. This time I went to see the castle. Look at me with all the flowers again!!!
