ToyVoyager meeting

We are quite many traveling toys in this town. A group of us put up a meeting today. How cool was that! 

Two hosts, mmm105 and Reissari and their toyvoyagers, Phillip, Nayeli, DottieMouse, Nyankororin, Ronya, Kurnau, Traveling Teddy, Rauli and me first met in the center and we were hungry... As it happened that we were near Subway we went in and ate there.

After eating we gathered to a park to write some postcards. We were almost ready when it started to rain and we ran to a cafe. In that cafe we found a game but had no idea what we were supposed to do. Fortunatelly Traveling Teddy was familiar with this game called mölkky http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%B6lkky and he taught us and counted the points. I can tell you it was so fun to play with all the friends

Today we visited both the new and the old railway station of Jyväskylä. And we saw both new and old trains

This time the fall in Moscow is very dark and rainy, but sometimes there are sunny days.

Of these days I saw the world famous monument!
Rabochiy i Kolkhoznitsa (Worker and Kolkhoz Woman) is a famous landmark of monumental art, "the ideal and symbol of the Soviet epoch".

We went to the monument on the metro firstly...


And then on the monorail...


And that's it! A huge and sparkling in the sun! It was made from stainless steel by Vera Mukhina for the 1937 World's Fair in Paris, and subsequently moved to Moscow.




The restored statue uses a new pavilion as its pedestal, increasing its total height from 34.5 to 60 meters.



I`m very, very impressed... 

It means "I love Moscow!"

Warm greetings from cold Moscow!

Recently I visited All-Russia Exhibition Centre! It is a permanent general-purpose trade show in Moscow. The historical name of this place in the Soviet Union - VDNKh - Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (Russian: Vystavka Dostizheniy Narodnovo Khozyaystva). This is a huge area with beautiful exhibition halls many of which are monuments of Soviet architecture.

Unfortunately, many of the buildings in the area have closed or are in very poor condition. But now the government of Moscow is engaged in their recovery. I hope they will be able keep everything here.

Although the cold weather there in Moscow, I still plan to visit the famous Red Square in the coming days!

New Year is coming, but in Moscow not so cold, so I visited the famous Red Square!
Red Square is called so not because it is red. In Russian, the word "crasny" (red) has one more meaning - "beautiful, wonderful". But there are also many buildings built of red bricks.



This is a tower wall of Kitay-Gorod.


It is a museum dedicated to the War of 1812 against Napoleon. This is a very spectacular building.






Beautiful Nikolsky gate leads to the square.




And this is the Historical Museum. Military leader Zhukov`s statue stands in front of the museum. See how many people? Many tourists visit Moscow.






This is one of the most beautiful buildings I've seen in Moscow.

The famous Spasskaya tower. I took lots of photos from different angles, so Red Square was visible.










On this photos you can see The Saint Basil's Cathedral (or The Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat). Church was built from 1555–61 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan.
