It's one of the warmest days of this spring and sun is shining, so we decided to go to the riverbank for a walk. There are very nice walking routes following Aurajoki (joki = river).

The river on this photo is Vähäjoki, a smaller river that flows into Aurajoki. It looks like we're on the countryside, but actually we walked only a couple of kilometers away from the town center.



Soon after crossing that bridge we arrived to Koroistenniemi. Here's a sign telling something about the area. This is a historically notable area: an old trading post and a church where the diocese of Finland was located before Turku Cathedral was built. The diocese was then moved to the Cathedral on year 1300 or so.

And a view of Koroistennimi. The white cross marks the place, where the church and the diocese were located. The river on this photo is Aurajoki and you can almost see the place, where Vähäjoki joins it. If you look carefully, you can see the tower of Turku Cathedral, too.



There isn't much left of the buildings anymore. You can seen some remains here and there, though.









Mr. Moose and Teddy arrived later and we gathered on a big stone that's probably been one of the foundation stones of the church.



We talked a lot, enjoyed the nice weather and had fun, but nothing lasts forever and soon it was time to say good bye. It's time for me to continue my journey.

Hi mum!

After spending a few days to myself relaxing ( my new host Niki has been very busy revising for exams ) Niki was finally free to take some pictures of me and my newest friend matcha.

We had some guests over for dinner so we helped Niki our making her favourite meal, sweet and sour. Niki has a taste for Chinese food, but prefers to make it her own way.

First we helped her brown off the chicken ( we didn't want anyone getting food poisoning!)



We then added the sauce. It was store bought, because Niki explained that she was hopeless at making her own!



We let it cook for a while before plating it up for our guests. Looks delicious!

Hi!

It was Niki's birthday the other day so we had to celebrate. She's been very busy lately so It was nice to have a day off!

In the morning we helped her to open her birthday presents which were wrapped with lovely green paper. I had so much fun helping her rip it off!



Later on we then ate cake ( which was eaten too fast for us to have a picture taken with it, it was delicious!) and went to the cinema to see x-men with Niki and her family.



The film was great and the nachos were tasty!

After a long stay in the UK, I came home today! I was welcomed by two friendly birds: Scoop and Kevin Kiwi. I think we'll go along nicely!

Merry Christmas, everyone! 

You can't see it very well, but today it was white again!
But inside, it's spring!

We got a parcel today and we all gathered to look what is in it.

Out came a braid and an arm. It must be a girl!

Yeah, it is! It's Minnilotta! She told about her adventures and shared her chocolate with us. That's sweet!

Happy Valentine's Day! We had little heartshaped candy with a word on it. Mine said: "Cool". Off course! 

It's a nice spring day and we're going out for a walk to Schipluiden. Hum-de-dum-de-dum!

Here we are in the tower of a church, overlooking Midden Delfland. If I remember correctly, I've been here before with some other friends.
