Historic city core Villingen, Germany - 14th October 2012

By: Biggi

Before I leave home I went with the other TV's which are guests at my home to the historic city core of Villingen.

Villingen-Schwenningen is a cooperation city of the old town Villingen and the town of Schwenningen.
In former times there was the border between Baden and Württemberg between the both towns.
In the early 1970ies the federal state Baden-Württemberg was built. At the same time the double city
was established.

The reason for our trip was a huge bazar market at the old main streets. Mom found a
parking lot outside the old city walls, which sorround the old city. (Nowadays the city Villingen is much
larger than it used to be when these walls were built)
http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/bjoern2d4gplxk5mw.jpg

On the way to the market, we saw this building which used to be a monk convent.

http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/butchbjoernlid5bgmf7y.jpg

This building with the beautiful sign was a restaurant.
http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/bjoern4c60mxp2vbj.jpg

Villingen has a cathedral.
http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/bjornkasiazhobk6iwq.jpg
http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/bjoernkasi3t5v7azg0ru.jpg

I couldn't do many pictures inside because I didn't want to use the flashlight.
http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/bjoernkasi2wk6epchyz8.jpg

Besides the cathedral is this fountain, made by a famous local artist.
http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/bjoern5jkt4s0hfmn.jpg

It was quite to difficult to take a picture of the bazar market because of all those people there.

Niedernhausen, Germany - 9th December 2012

By: SaSoLi

HI !!!!!!!!

After a lot of problems ( host mum said she got "shit on her feet" at time  B) ) now i can write to you mummy.... I´m fine and although we couldn´t undertake a lot since now, we had a lot of fun here.
Now that it´s advent season and it´s snowing, yesterday we went to wiesbaden for the x-mas-market and a little walk through Wiesbaden. First we walked by the spa gardens and the Hessian State Theatre and the so called "Bowling Green" in front of the old spa hotel which now is a casino....the Bowling Green now is more a "Bowling White"  :D. We stopped by the biggest cuckoo clock of the world and saw the Market Church where the x-mas-market is in front. It was sooo crowded that it unfortunately wasn´t possible to take too much photos, but i hope you enjoy the ones we took. We also met some angels :D  Later on we went through the pedestrian area, every year there´s a big Ferris wheel....and we took a ride...Butch Flunky and me were a bit scary in the beginning and beg the girls to held us careful...but it was so much fun! And think mummy...as we were waiting for the bus....i saw one of my brothers!!!  ;)
Today it´s snowing and won´t stop it seems...we´re going to bake christmas cookies and maybe go out to build a snowmen...but first the photos of our yesterdays excursion!

XOXOXO Bjoern

PS: I add some photos we took at home and on one on the way to a doc´s visit, it´s the townhall of Niedernhausen. The books are only a few ...there are so much more here...it´s one of host mums passion  ;)

By: Linda Fdph

Dear Mom

Today, iam visit Bajra Sandhi Monument
About the Bajra Sandhi itself ,  the architecture  is very unique, taking the shape of Bajra or Genta, a bell that used by Hindu Priests during religious ceremonies. It is also a symbol of the bond between males and females that creates prosperity according to the epic that tells the story of the Gods struggle to get the Water of Eternity
The existence of physical building is strongly relating to the meaning of Hinduism philosophy, namely Yoni colossus. The monument is likely colossus device meanwhile the building base as yoni. From other side, the Yoni colossus is also describing the story of twiddling Mandhara Giri at Ksirarnawa which is taken away from passage of Adi Parwa (Hindu's Book).
This building Monument is consisted of:
•    Jar of Amertha symbol by Kumba (a kind of pot) what is seen on the top monument.
•    The Dragon Basuki tail exists near by Swamba and its head at entrance gate
•    The body of Bedawang Akupa realized at its base of monument and the head at entrance gate
•    Mount of Mandara Giri realized by the high of monument boosting

Erlangga-Bali, Indonesia - 5th May 2013

By: Linda Fdph

Today my host introduced  me about The Music of Bali.
The music of Bali is extremely complex and vibrant. The original purpose of music here again is to serve religious beliefs, accompanying dances or wayang theaters. The traditional Balinese orchestra, known as gamelan, is composed of various forms of percussions, with notes overlapping and criss crossing among the various kinds. There is a number of string and woodwind instruments, but most of the players, which can range from a few to several dozen, sit behind various kinds of metallophones, gongs, and xylophones. Each gamelan has its own tuning, preventing instruments from being interchanged from one gamelan to another.
