BajraSandhi-Bali, Indonesia - 23rd February 2013
By: Linda Fdph
Dear Mum
Here iam at Bajra Sandhi Monument, one of the iconic building in Denpasar, capital city of Bali.
The architecture of the monument is very unique, taking the shape of Bajra or Genta, a bell that used by Hindu Priests during religious ceremonies. It is also a symbol of the bond between males and females that creates prosperity according to the epic that tells the story of the Gods struggle to get the Water of Eternity.
Every statue and each carving in the monument compound has its own meaning. The whole of the monument symbolizes Mount Mandara where, according to the epic Mahabarath, the Gods had a battle with giants fighting for the Water of Eternity

Hello Mum
Here iam in front of one of PURA in Bali.A PURA is a Balinese Hindu temple and the place of worship for the adherents of Balinese Hinduism in Indonesia. Most of the puras are found on the island of Bali, as Hinduism is the predominant religion in the island; however many puras exist in other parts of Indonesia where there are significant numbers of Balinese people.

Kertagosa-Klungkung-Bali, Indonesia - 11th April 2013
By: Linda Fdph
Hello..Mum
Now, iam being located at Bali's smallest district : Klungkung.
Klungkung is located between Gianyar and Karangasem. Klungkung itself is a bustling town. On reaching the town centre. Klungklung was the base of the ancient Javanese Hindu Kingdom in Bali, from where the Balinese royalty of today draws its bloodline. It is the oldest kingdom in Bali, with a most exalted Kings.
Kertha Gosa is an old building of jurisdiction and legislation and is one of the main areas in Bali that has been important throughout history in the development of modern Bali. Located within the district of Klungkung in the north of the island and is an excellent and grand old area with amazing history. The words Kertha Gosa mean peaceful announcement which has been the prime focus of the Kertha Gosa throughout history. The inside and outside of the Kertha Gosa and all around it there is some amazing art in the form of paintings and carvings of wood and stone. This is an area unlike the temples of Bali and the feel is very different. Here at the Kertha Gosa the focus is on power and the importance of the legal system as it was here that trials and penalization was carried out. When inside the Kertha Gosa it is easy to feel how it must have been in the old days when the trials and deep discussions on the politics of the area where carried out. The Kertha Gosa is not only of great cultural value but many of the artifacts and artwork that is inside the building has been deemed extremely valuable although obviously it will remain inside.
And here I took a picture with modern Indonesian girls ( they are student) that still using their traditional clothes ( called kebaya ) if attending a party, pray to the Gods and also another ceremonial occasion.
Love

Erlangga-Bali, Indonesia - 1st May 2013
By: Linda Fdph
Hello
Today my host introduced me about The Music of Bali.
The music of Bali is extremely complex and vibrant. The original purpose of music here again is to serve religious beliefs, accompanying dances or wayang theaters. The traditional Balinese orchestra, known as gamelan, is composed of various forms of percussions, with notes overlapping and criss crossing among the various kinds. There is a number of string and woodwind instruments, but most of the players, which can range from a few to several dozen, sit behind various kinds of metallophones, gongs, and xylophones. Each gamelan has its own tuning, preventing instruments from being interchanged from one gamelan to another.
Hugs

Chrudim, the Czech Republic - 12th June 2013
By: Pavla*
Hi!
I arrived to Chrudim, a small town in the Czech Republic, in the morning. Day was sunny and weather was nice and warm. In front of my new house are growing beautiful, green trees.
Welcomed me here big plush bear! He is really big, but very friendly. I met some other new friends here. They are all in my size. It´s a parrot here too. His name is Ferda and he is singing all day.
My host works in the School of Arts. She is a ballet teacher. So I visited this school. In the garden are big and small statues. I visited the ballet class, too. I enjoyed few hours with small ballerinas.
Tomorrow I´m going to visit the old center of Chrudim.
Hugs,
Hemming

Chrudim, the Czech Republic - 13th June 2013
By: Pavla*
Hi!
I have visited the old part of Chrudim. It´s really small town. The main square is beautiful. It´s big church and plague column there. Everywhere are old, colored buildings. Part of the plague column is the fountain. Oh, I liked this place.
I spend one hour at English class, too. It´s a little bit funny, the school´s name is „Zebra“ and the classroom´s name is „Kenya“. Everything looks like in Africa there.
Hugs,
Hemming
