Last weekend I made ​​my first trip. I went with mom, dad, my sister, Angeli, and my friends Fiete, Lola, Carolin, Salmonella and Sausi Karl to Rhine Falls in Neuhausen.



We parked at the Schloss Laufen. Through the old castle gate



we entered the courtyard with its battlements and arrow slits.





The thundering Rhine Falls was good to hear. Over a staircase we came closer









and closer to the waterfall.









I have never seen so much water.















Later we visited an exhibition of antique furniture.



I felt like a king.



On the way home we saw huge pumpkins



and nibbled on grapes.

Yesterday my mum has started her new job. So we were alone at home. First we had a little boring but then we had a great idea. We play Pirates of the Caribbean. In the kitchen and in the office, we found everything we needed. Chopsticks,



trivets, plastic bowls,





paper



and glue.



A pirate flag we printed on the computer.





It was hard work, but it was worth it.





We had lot of fun.









The bathroom was a bit under water but only a bit, honorable word.

Today we went to Einsiedeln. Einsiedeln is a small town in the canton of Schwyz, and known for its baroque church and the Black Madonna.











It is also a place of pilgrimage on the Camino. Unfortunately, the photograph is not allowed in the monastery church. Mum is looking online for a picture, the church is really beautiful,





you could not tell by the weather, it was foggy, wet and cold. With hot chestnuts, we warmed up a bit.



Then we visited the ski jump.



It is a plastic covered jump and is used for summer training.



Even the students of the high school sports train here.



At home mum has made a special dinner - Raclette.





Melted cheese with potatoes, cucumbers, onions, sweet and sour homemade pumpkin and more.



It tasted wonderful.

Hello
This morning we found a well-known envelope on the table. With an address on it. Curious, we tried to figure out where things are headed, and above all who is going to travel.



Fiete is the lucky one, he can travel to Finland. At first we were all a bit sad Fiete is leaving us, but we were happy for him too.
I had to distract him at the computer,







while the other have baked a farewell cake. Fiete  enjoyed immensely.



Then he was allowed to fill his belly with fruit. You never know how long the journey lasts. Then he packed up his cap, in Finland it can be very cold, a few sweets and a card of mum.



We gave him a big group hug



and he slipped into his envelope.

Hello Hemming's here,
we had not much time to be sad because Fiete is gone. As mum came from the post she brought a new envelope. As always, we were a bit curious, really just a little bit.



Our new guest called Nils and has traveled from Finland.





It took a long time, mum had been worried. But now he is here and we have warmly welcomed him.





He is glad to be free again and ready for new adventures with us.

Today the weather was beautiful and we visited St.Iddaburg.





This is a prime vantage point overlooking the Bodensee.



In addition, here is a sanctuary. The church we were not able to visit because a wedding was taking place. Best of luck!
The pilgrimage church of St. Iddaburg located where the old Toggenburg in the Middle Ages, the family seat of the Counts of Toggenburg stood. Here lived in the middle of the 12th Century came from the wider audience of Habsburg Idda, wife of IV Diethelm of Toggenburg. With the Lourdes Grotto, builded 1888,



and the Black Madonna in the church,  St. Iddaburg is also a popular place of pilgrimage. We stopped at a small fountain



and a playground.



On the way back we saw a Harley, and we could not resist. We had to sit on it.

Hello world,
after my morning coffee





I found one of those envelopes on the table. After I sniffed him extensively,





I knew that is for me. Mum told me that I can travel to Remscheid. That's in Germany. I immediately searched my things together. Enough sweets, you never know. My mug.



Mum said, the coffee cup must stay here. It may break and my host mum has coffee cups too. Okay, even a postcard from home and then it can go. A little, little bit sad I said goodbye to my friends. After a group hug



I crawled into my envelope.

Hi Mummy,
I arrived in Remscheid today. My host Katja and four more ToyVoyagers gave me a warm welcome. My new friends are MiniMarshmallow, Emma Squirrel, HolgiHH and FerdiFuchs. They were delighted that I brought so many delicious sweets with me



In the afternoon Katja took me out for a walk. There is a nice playground in the vicinity of my current home.



We picked up a friend who wanted to go with us. While Katja waited for her friend I met a nice .... dinner? (Katja told me that the friend's birds will not be my dinner.)



A circus is in town.



The city centre of Remscheid is situated on top of a hill. To reach the surrounding woodland you have to walk downhill for at least 20 minutes. This means the way back will be uphill ....







Katja told me that you can often find historic factory buildings close to dwellings here, especially in the surrounding valleys.



They have lovely half-timbered houses here!

Only two more steep streets uphill ...



Finally we reached the municipal parkwith its pond.



Duckies ... also good for dinner.



Again I was not allowed to get me my own dinner.



This is the police headquarter, close to the municipal park.



I am really tired now, from all this walking. Let's see what tomorrow will bring!

Hi Mummy,
I helped Katja to make pancakes today. She's using a receipe that is used in a restaurant where here daughter was working as a cook. Those pancakes are delicious with both a sweet and savoury stuffing.

You need 6 eggs, 200 ml milk or milk/water, 200 g wheat flour, some salt.

Mix everything and let it rest for 15 minutes.



Preheat a little bit oil in a pan and fill in dough.



In the meantime I was playing with MiniMarshmallow and suddenly some furry animals were visiting us. Cats? No, not cats, ferrets!



There are even three of them, but Shiva seemed to be asleep in her bed.

The pile of pancakes went higher and higher.



Later I had one of them stuffed with tomatoe and cheese. Yummy!

Hi Mummy,
today we took a walk with Katja's daughter in another district of Remscheid, in Luettringhausen. We had planned to walk to a nearby restaurant in the neighbour city Wuppertal to have a beer. We met Katja's daughter not far from her home on a walking path in a lovely valley.



Than I heard something  like "mähhhh" and "mähähä" ... this means sheep!

Indeed, a flock of sheep was grazing here.



I tried my best to make the girls come to the fence, but even putting on my hood did not work!



We walked further towards our destination.



We walked through a lovely forest than.





We reached Wuppertal-Ronsdorf soon.



This is what you call "Golden October"



The restaurant was closed - what a pity! No beer as a reward for our walk!

Hi Mummy,
the weather has gone crazy - we are having sunshine and about 20°C. This was a good reason to make an excursioin to one of the touristic highlights of this reason. Because my host does not have a car, we took a long walk through lovely rural areas and forests to get there. Katja's son accompanied us.

We walked to a distrcit in the West of Remscheid and reached this lovely point soon.





Katja told me that it might be a good idea to put on my hoodie. I did so and ...

... sheep!



This time they believed that I was a sheep and one of them came to the fence, really curious to meet me.



We went into the forest than. Oh, what a lovely view, all those golden leafes!



We rested on a bench for a moment.



This is an extremely large beech - Katja loves this tree.



This tree is showing several route markings. The encircled "R" means Roentgenweg. It is following the border of the municipal area of Remscheid, about 62 km long. It is named after the founder of the X-rays who was born in Lennep, one of the historic districts of Remscheid.



We simply had to follow our path downhill to the bottom of the valley.





River Wupper is flowing in the valley.



I saw a cute little outlook pavilion at the opposite side of the valley. Katja told me that you had a spectacular view to our destination from there.



We were visiting Muengsten Bridge, Germany's highest railway bridge. It is connecting Remscheid and the neighbour city Solingen, overspanning the valley of the river Wupper.

Here it came into sight.



The bridge was built of steel in late 19th century, it is 465 m long and 107 m high. You can find more information here, in German.

The bridge is so wide that it is nearly impossible to take a proper photo of the whole bridge. Of course our host knows the location where she could take a halfway proper picture. On our way there we had a look at the leisure park which was built under the bridge some years ago. You can find large lawns with benches for relaxing, playgrounds for the kids, a crazy golf course and riddles. We preferred sitting on a bench, enjoying the lovely surrondings and the sunshine.

We had to walk back home than. I found something weird in the forest - a puddle oracle! I asked the orcacle aobut the weather  for the coming days and about my family at home. The oracle told me that we would have great weather at the weekend and that my family at home in Switzerland would be finde, everybody happy that I met more sheep.





We came along a stadium, construction works were taking place there.

This is where I am living at the moment, another five minutes walk from this church. I will fall into my bed in the evening, my little feet are already hurting .

Hi Mummy,
the forest was calling again! This time we took a walk in the outlying districts of the neighbour city Wuppertal. We started our trip in a nearby valley.



Katja told us that this path was leading towards a small dam.



There were several fish ponds along the way.





Soon we reached the dam (Ronsdorfer Talsperre), a really small one.





There are information boards along the path, you can learn a lot about wildlife in the forest. Have a look at this board, displaying soil animals.





We reached another rural district with horses on the meadows.







Another fish pond while we walked back.



The weather forecast for tomorrow is also promising

Hi Mummy,
we took a walk along river Wupper today. We went to Solingen-Unterburg and than into the forest.



Katja showed us a weir.



Following the river was fun.



We found an ear trumpet which intensifies the sound of water running down the rocks - in rainy months a waterfall!







MiniMarshmallow had some trouble to hear the water - we did not find any ears on him



Later we left the river bank and went uphill into the forest. Here we found fly agaric.



.. across the valley of river Wupper.



Later Katja showed me lovely old houses in Unterburg when we went back to the car. Most of them were built in 18th und 19th century.

Hi Mummy,
today Katja showed me around the city centre in her lunch break. We started at the municipal music school.



This is the central bus station and the company building of the local newspaper RGA in the background.



The adult education center is situated in this modern building.





This is the rear side of the shopping center, nothing spectecular
