Hello everyone!
I'm Bim and I'm a new Toy Voyager. Now I'm in Vilnius with Gabriele, but I'm getting ready to see the wide world. Today Gabriele took a photo of me and a view from our window.
Bye!

Vienna, Austria - 6th October 2012
By: Petzii
Hello Mom,
yesterday host-mom began to learn crochet and the first thing she did was a little scarf for me.
Today was a looooooong day.
Our trip began at the Donaupark (Danube Park) and the Donauturm (Danube Tower).
At 252 metres above city level, the Danube Tower is Austria's highest building. The observation deck is at 150 metres,
the Panorama café at 160m and the Donauwalzer-Restaurant at 170 metres.
It was build in 1964.
The two express elevators brings visitors up to the top of the tower in less than 40 seconds.
Behind me you can see the DC-Tower (DonauCityTower), when it is finished, it's going to be the biggest building in Austria.
View over Vienna and the Danube.
The strange building in the middle is the Vienna International Center.
The United Nations Headquarters.
This Mozart Kuchen (Mozart cake) was awesome.
At the Souvenir-Shop.
We took a little walk at the Donauinsel (Danube Island).
After that we took the Underground to the first District.
Here you can see me in front of the St. Stephens Cathedral.
The Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera) is an opera company, with a history dating back to the mid-19th century.
It is located in the centre of Vienna. It was originally called the Wiener Hofoper (Vienna Court Opera). In 1920, with the
replacement of the Habsburg Monarchy by the First Republic of Austria, it was renamed the Vienna State Opera. The
members of the Vienna Philharmonic are recruited from its orchestra.
In front of Goethe and Mozart.
The Hofburg (Hofburg Palace) has housed some of the most powerful people in European and Austrian history, including
the Habsburg dynasty, rulers of the Austro-Hungarian empire. It currently serves as the official residence of the President
of Austria. It was the Habsburgs' principal winter residence, as the Schönbrunn Palace was their preferred summer residence.
The Hofburg area has been the documented seat of government since 1279 for various empires and republics.
The Austrian Parlament construction lasted from 1874 to 1883. One of the building's most famous features is the later added
Athena fountain in front of the main entrance, which is a notable Viennese tourist attraction. Following heavy damage and
destruction during the Second World War, most of the interior has been restored to its original splendour.
Here you can see me with the Wiener Rathaus (Vienna City Hall). Host-mom said every year during christmas, there is the
Christkindlmarkt. She said, if I'm staiing until December, she is going to show it to me.
The Burgtheater ([Imperial] Court Theatre) is the Austrian National Theatre in Vienna and one of the most important German
language theatres in the world. The Burgtheater was created in 1741 and has become known as "die Burg" by the Viennese
population.
And now we are back home, I'm really tired, but it was also a great day. I saw so much of Vienna, so I'm really happy.
Bye mom, I hope you like the pictures.
Love,
Bim

Donauzentrum, Vienna, Austria - 20th October 2012
By: Petzii
Hy Mom,
the last week was so dusty and rainy. Host-mom also had to work the whole week, because her colleague was sick.
But on Saturday, the 20th of October we had a little trip.
At first we made a test drive with the Dacia Duster, because host-granddaddy's car has broken down.
After that we drove to the Donauzentrum (Danubecenter), one of the biggest shoppingcenter in Austria.
In this shop it wasn't allowed to take fotos, so I'm not in it. Host-mom secretly took it with her mobile phone.
After that we went to eat a little.
The restaurant is called Saloon and there you can order a dish called Goldgräberplatte (Gold Digger plate), for 3-4 Persons.
Actually we don't know how this 3-4 Persons look like, but we coulndn't eat it.
On Friday, the 26th of October is the national holiday, and also host-mum's birthday.
We are going to visit the Heldenplatz and the Hofburg again, because every year there you can see the Austrian military and the swearing of nearly 1.400 Military servants, the Austrian president is going to be there too.
But I'm going to show you more of it after our visit.
Love,
Bim

Leipzig, Germany - 30th November 2012
By: agent pluesch
Hi mum,
I finally arrived in Germany and I arrived just in time to help my host mum to put up all the Christmas stuff. It was very exciting as there were so many things to discover. Mr. Nutcracker scared me a bit at first, but he turned out to be a very nice old man with a great sense of humour. The big sheep is a really funny buddy ... I am sure it's going to be a long night as there are so many things to talk about
Bye for now,
Bim
