Birmingham, UK - 19th February 2013

Hello!
I'm in a beautiful city called Birmingham! Can you see the great view from my hotel room?
Birmingham has a lot of canals because in Britain people used to transport everything by boat before they had lots of big railways, and then lorries. Now, it is mostly houseboats on the canals. he houseboats are very lovely, as people paint them in bright colours! I wish I could live on one. I imagine it would be very cosy inside, and you could move your house around on the water.

Vienna, Austria - 29th March 2013
By: MySongIsLaughter
Gruss Gott!
I've just got back from visiting Vienna with my host's music class! It was such a cool trip
We went by coach, which took about 22 hours but we got to go on a ferry and go through France, Belgium, Germany and Austria! My host kept falling asleep and having to ask us what country we were in when she woke up.
On the first night we went to a Heuriger which is a kind of wine bar. We tried schnitzel with a cold potato salad as our host had heard that it was a traditional dish in Vienna, and we also had the wine that they make there.
The music class spent a lot of time walking around the city, visiting churches and graveyards. We mostly sat in Frances' bag where we could see everything but keep warm when it was snowing! One time, we climbed up the cathedral tower so that we could see the whole city!
My favourite part was visiting the Spanish riding school, because we got to see ots of horses! We weren't allowed to take photos inside, but we watched the horses doing all their interesting exercises.

Hello Mum
Balinese cuisine uses many herbs and spices. In almost every dish we use them. So it’s very important to know what we need to make our cooking succeed.
Here is spices and herbs that HostMom and I have today in the kitchen : Cloves ( Cengkeh), Kaffir Lime Leaves(Daun Jeruk Purut), Ginger(Jahe) , Cumin(Jintan), Cinnamon(Kayu manis), Candlenuts (Kemiri), Aromatic Ginger (kencur), Coriander(Ketumbar), Turmeric(Kunyit), Galangal (Langkuas), White and black Pepper(Merica putih dan hitam), Nutmeg(Pala), Lemon grass ( Serai ), Chilies ( cabai ) , Cardamon (Kapulaga ) , Onions ( Bawang Merah ) , Sesame seed ( Wijen ) , and also we have Glutinous Rice ( Beras Ketan )
